I have a 2016/17 Proton Iriz and have been advised by my Proton mechanic to change my tyres as it's showing wear and it hasn't been replaced since 2020. I have not modded my car and use it mainly for city driving. Also, I don't intend to buy new rims.
1. Is there any benefit to getting bigger tyres? 2. If yes, what sizes are recommended? 3. Whether yes or no, any recommended brands I should use? I do want to keep it on a low budget. |

QUOTE(spreeeee @ Mar 12 2024, 02:00 PM) If the price is for 18 inch tires, it is considerably a good dealHowever, whether it is worth it or not, depends on the user. There is a RM200 price difference per tire, as the total difference is RM800 for 4 pcs of tires. The difference is too big to ignore the value that VP4 brings. A much fair comparison should be between UC7 & Primacy 4, since the price is closer & performance wise should be closer as well. Whether it is worth to fork out a bit extra over the extra performance of Primacy 4 over UC7 (comfort & competent braking performance even when worn) This post has been edited by amscouzach57: Mar 12 2024, 04:54 PM |

Not sure how much improvement made towards UC7 but I dont expect massive improvement on wet grip for UC7 or Continental tyre in general. If have budget take Michelin or no harm to take Hankook series tyre amscouzach57 liked this post

QUOTE(Acoen @ Mar 2 2024, 02:07 PM) Hi, looking for Falken tyre azenis Fk510 suv. Asking around in KL was quoted the below price: Just to update, i have missed the offer for this price for 225 55 r1. This offer was before CNY time aduiii. Anyhow there is not enough stock from the same seller as i plan to change 4 pieces. Try to ask few Falken tyre shops also cannot get this outgoing model FK510 suv. 225/55r19 fk510 @569 fk520 @670 Can anyone recommend tyre shop in Klang selling Falken tyre that can get better price? Planning to change 4 pieces Ended replaced with Michelin Primacy 4 suv+ for Rm650 a piece with free balancing. Alignment got to pay extra RM37 at Klang Kee Hin. I pm thier FB to ask for the price one week ago and it was quoted RM630. When i arrived at thier shop, one of the supervisors said cannot get at that price anymore 😕 Maybe RM630 excludes balancing kut cos i didn't ask whether the price include balancing and alignment. |

Iriz stock rim's width is 5.5". So, max. recommended tire width is 195mm.If you want to increase the tire width, you can should be able to increase it to 185/65R14. The 2.2% increased size is within tolerance of 3%. However, generally 185/65R14 tires are significantly more expensive than 175/65R14 tires. In my opinion, the estimated gains should not be worth it. You'll be better off getting a better tire. What tires are you using on your car, right now? |

Wondering if this is a good tyre or if there's other alternatives to look out for. I do like the ride so far but if I could reduce the road noise, I'd like that. There is not much choices for 14 inchers. If comfort you seek, Michelin Energy XM2+ would be your recommended choice. However, your handling performance would be sacrificed, as your current tire is better in that aspect. This post has been edited by amscouzach57: Mar 26 2024, 12:24 AM |
