QUOTE(Chiggah @ Feb 6 2024, 07:29 PM) Been reading some of your replies about VP4. Need to change my civic tyres. If UC7 is RM400 and VP4 is RM300-325, go VP4 too ? Is it pretty much identical ? I notice Continental on shopee has like huge discounts on UC7 making it RM400 per piece for my 215/50/17 So have you decided yet? I am using the same size tyre on my Ford Focus. Currently using Primacy4. My concern is the longevity of the tyre.

If you want longevity, just continue either Primacy or UC series. I got 1 salesman friend which always travel between northern to central area and feedback to me the old UC6 tires he manage to hit 100k before change. FYI, he always travel on highways & rotate the tires every 10k. This post has been edited by littlefire: Feb 8 2024, 04:22 PM

Considering between Goodyear Assurance Maxguard Suv and Michelin Primacy Suv+ for Honda CRV 1.5t. Anyone has recommendation based on driving experience for both these tyre brands?. Preference will be on low noise, good driving comfort, and tyre longevity

If pricing different too much, would rather support local made Toyo tires from Kamunting/Taiping.

The tire from reputable brand even 2nd hand also more better than china brand in term of performance anytime.

My mechanic bought a lot of cheap tire to test and in the end prefer to buy middle range. Cheap tire he feedback to me when got puncture, the rubber material they use not easy to bond with the patch available in market, thus of the low quality rubber, they are easier to burst and wear faster compare to reputable brand. This normally tire shop wont tell you, as if anything happen on the road is your own already. This post has been edited by littlefire: Feb 21 2024, 02:58 PM

Any reason behind you’ve chosen CR1? michelin actually can last twice compare normal tires. is like normal tire after 2 years u start to have lousier traction, noise bla bla. but if michelin, after 2 years the traction still okay. i mean if u lanjak like mad, then normal tires will wear and get lousier faster than michelin. that is i can feel la, my primacy 3st after 4 years road noise become bad, but my viking maybe 2-3years already can feel no traction and very bad road noise. this is wat i personally feel. but some ppl say, they can change tire every two year fresh tire better, so can go for cheaper lo.

Oh I see. Great sharing. My car mostly parked outdoors under the sun and my working place is really dangerous, dirty and dusty. I will try consider Michelin.

Just swap my 2018 Myvi tyres to Conti UC7(need up 185 to 195), total RM1020. Suppose RM255 per donut but got free labor, alignment and new valve stem so I guess ok deal? Plus free backpack from Conti during CNY period which still awaiting to verify purchase and ship later. This price above is at Sg.Petani Kedah, while I also look up XM2+ which priced around RM295 so end up with the UC7 due to budget, hope my Conti choice is still good. And somehow no one shop I asked here have Yokohama in stock, was also aiming for the ES32...
