Get the Hankook Prime 4, pretty high rating if compared to the rest
*
I assume his ride is SUV? Since got Goodyear Assurance Maxguard SUV model in consideration.

Prime 4 is still consider as normal passenger car tire, if his ride is SUV need to consider the functionary.

UC6 got SUV range, if he is driving SUV would recommend to get SUV rated tires.

Hi, need advice here.

My picanto is using stock tyres since 2018, low mileage of about 20k+ km only, still got lots of thread from eye sighting (front-rear tyres rotated once dy). Is it time to change all 4 donuts? Stock tyre is nexen which i think is pretty good, dont know got sell in malaysia?

btw how much is the XM+ for 175/65R14 now?
*
Do you know how to see the year made from the tires & also tire condition?
FYI, if tires did not have serious crack on the sidewall, tires can last way more 5~10 years without issue.

Yes, Nexen got sell in Malaysia. Facebook got official Nexen group Malaysia which can advice which tire shop to get their stock from.

Official Nexen website also got KL branch contact to ask for

Yes, my ride is SUV X70. The original came with UC6. Thought of trying a new brand . Either similar spec with UC6 or better. So I'm looking either Goodyear Maxguard, Prime 4 can consider if the review is good for SUV type or others. Thank you
*
SUV tires - Must request tire shop to get the SUV model

Goodyear - Efficient grip SUV
Michelin - Primacy SUV
Bridgestone - Ecopia HL100, Alenza
Continental - UC6 SUV
Falken - FK510 SUV
Hankook - Prime 4 SUV
Nexen - RU1, SUV Sport
Toyo - CR1 SUV, CF2 SUV

based on my experienced, nexen RU1 is better than goodyear efficientgrip in most aspect like noise, dry and wet handling.
*
Yes, but premium brand usually their braking performance is better.
I personally used RU1 few years back before MCO when the price is still cheap & damn worth/value.

Any comment on Goodyear Maxguard SUV?
*
Maxguard if not mistaken is lower level grade compare to EfficientGrip in GoodYear tire model lineup.
Can be consider as normal budget SUV tires so dont expect too high.

For me, Maxguard is similar to like continental UC6 SUV level.

Hey guys,

Any feedback from those changing from a Michelin 18inch PS4 ZP to 18 inch PS5?
*
Overall conclusion around the net

PS4 - Performance is still better overall, but poor tread life
PS5 - Poor performance, better tread life

You choose what is your priority, but most people feedback PS4 still the better 1 as you buy UHP tires for that purpose.

Is that comparison mainly between PS4 and PS5? PS4 ZP RFT tyres performance shouldn't be better performance then PS5 non RFT?
*
Run flat only add on option, the rest of the performance as per mention is quite similar.
The different on non run flat tends to be better comfort (softer sidewall), better tread life & fuel economy (lighter tires) & cheaper a lot.
Most of my continental rides ditch the run flat, since got tire air pressure monitoring function built in why still scare of tire flat? rolleyes.gif
Until today i bought emergency tire patch kit in my rides never even used once.

*
i heard some of the SUV size already available for UC7, do confirm with the nearest continental tire shop.

Wow... for 2 cars = 8 tyres. What are the big effect on turnings? Must be positive effect lah since you are doing this for 2 cars.

Here's what I found out from the tyre size calculator. Speedometer will show lower than the actual.

Your sport rim width is one of the concern.

Just imagine your feet original shoe size is 8, then u upgrade to 9 and try run high speed and swift into corners how do you feel? Simple logic.

Check your sport rim spec. first before decides.

Is there any advantage replacing the original rubber with metal valves?

Thanks

Currently using Continental EcoContact6 on my SUV.

What I notice is , this tyre can be noisy and quiet at the same time.

On rough roads, the tyre roar can be really loud but on smooth roads it can get quiet.

Whenever driving I can feel a sudden dramatic change in road noise which I find very irritating.

Does anyone know what tyres are quieter than this?

My previous sedan using Bridgestone T005 was quieter or at least less irritating on rough roads but I don't know what is equivalent for SUV tyres.
*
There is no perfect tires, SUV tires tend to be larger compare to sedan unless your comparing like those big executive luxury sedan. The bigger size, the more contact point with the road the more road noise it will create.

https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2023-Be...yres-Tested.htm

If you want less noise SUV tire, look into the Environment - External noise data
No.1 in the list is Goodyear EfficientGrip 2
Follow by Nexen N Fera Sport SUV while the Michelin PS4 SUV on third place...

What’s the common price for Perodua Axia alignment & balancing for 4 tyres? Thanks and cheers.

I just did RM62 πŸ˜’
*
this is subjective, if you in big city like KL, Johor, PG island the workmanship would be higher due to higher pay rent, worker cost etc..

Let me consider and work on my budget.

Bro, if you no more warranty just go outside and get other mechanic feedback. Absorbers if no leak, it can be service back.
Same as steering rack, it can be fix or repair at a lower cost if no serious damage.

curious why sc not quote lower arm.
its the most easy item to bend causing uneven tyres
*
Newer heard lower arm so easy bend unless you involved in serious accident or hit a very big pot hole or object.
Most cases i seen is just the bushes that are the first to go, not the whole lower arm part.

I am currently using Michelin Primacy 4 on my  Nissan Serena.
I found that the set of tyre on my car always can't last. Current Primacy4 is only 1.5 years with less than 20+km but the tyre thread is almost gone dy.
Is this normal? My car is less than 5 years and this is my 3rd set of tyre (new car tyre > ecopia > pirmacy 4)
*
Did you check your car lower arm, absorbers condition, alignment & rotate the tires position like every 5K~10k?
If no, even the best tire also will wear out fast.

I did rotation every 10km and the tyre thread wearing out evenly.
No idea why as every set of new tyre I used can't go beyond 30km.
*
Then is either your tire or your driving attitude. If always like to speed and enter corners like nothing also will wear out fast.

can anyone help with this? should i just keep driving and check with tire shop later? cos if wan change 2 tire very costly almost 2k sad.gif

Tried pull the flap abit it looks like this[attachmentid=11484705]

and wanna ask for advise also, since i still have 2 PS4's is in good condition, if i change both 2 to front, then back tire i use other cheaper brand, is it okay like tat?
*
That is just a bit of rubber, did you see any metal or other material color in it? If no, means it is not deep enough. Last time 1 of my tires also encouter similar issue, i go to 1 honest tire shop he gave me 1 superglue and tell me glue own self.. laugh.gif Used until low treads and change also no issue.
