Would you mind helping me to check this again? Try to find the vowifi seting here (as per screen shot). I went to Sony store asking for permission to put in my sim card into the display set to check, but they don't allow it since that would activate the warranty and I would have to buy it. So can't test there.

The setting is not available unless your carrier activates it on their end. I am using Maxis, they didn't activate it. You maybe able to convince them to activate it for you on their end but there's no guarantee about it.

Thanks. I've spoken to their Careline but they insists problem is with sony. The device is listed on maxis device list that support vowifi. I couldn't get any response from Sony. Dead end so far... Any idea what else could I do?

I didn't see Xperia 1vi in Maxis' list though

No.. it don't have the setting.. however, it is not important to me..

Pretty like the new bokeh mode. Much superior than previous generation. It starting to have enhanced bokeh mode since Xperia 5 V.. I always set at 50% of it and it turned out really nice for me. The cutout of objects and hair edging also looks pretty flawless..

The only cons is the file size.. normal 12mp file size around 2.5 to 3MB.. however boleh mode photos took around 8 to 10 MB..

Any review on the the telephoto ? Seems quite "blurry" like got mist effect in some reviews I watched. Especially towards the end of the zoom range..

No.. it is better and it do not have hazy looks like IV and V..

I think these are captured with vivid creative looks.. so color saturation slightly higher than normal.. I also can have a quick Preview on these photos as I didn't check ok PC screen yet..

Website didn't update the Fix Status, so I contact the Service Center myself and they told me my Xperia 1 VI is ready to be pick up. Just pick up my Xperia 1 VI and everything now looks Perfect. 7 Days including Weekend to fix my Xperia 1 VI Camera Single Red Dot in 2x Zoom issue, they mentioned there is some issue on my Lens, so they change the Lens only, not quite sure which Lens they referring to but Personally I think maybe there is a Dust inside the Lens that cause the Single Red Dot on screen? Anyway, I think the Warranty Claim Process pretty straightforward.

So far anyone update to the latest firmware? I didn't change yet cause I see various feedback, when open camera there is some humming noise become louder, also 15hz on idle change to 30hz on screen now to resolve the screen lag issue when screen idle 15hz jump to 120hz. If anyone already update to latest firmware can share abit your experience on the Camera Humming Louder noise after update?

Thanks for the capture.. I managed to test in the sony store just now.. there is some blurriness at the end of optical zoom. And noticed abit shaky..due to lack of OIS. On a positive note, it's damn snappy.. like almost instant when tapping apps or camera.

yes.. only notice thing is 15hz to 30hz as minimum refresh rate currently.. not really much impacts on battery life as still solid even i may have 70% wake up.. but it able to last me whole day.. tell me more about camera humming noise?!

it is not that sharp anyways for very far object.. but if u are focusing on human/objects instead of building/concert, it should be better.. but still at soft side.. u may increase sharpness on post processing if u prefer in that way.. some people mentioned the OIS but it feel like dont have as well.. quite shaky.. i do have one set of photos at indoor which light condition not that great as the setup of shop is like vintage style.. yellowish light.. i will post the sample later.. lowlight, aperture go down to f/3.5 which is not really ideal.. but usable.

These are sample photos where I sit at end of the shop and just try out different focal length of Xperia camera..

I still feel it is quite reliable for a smartphone. It will not be competitive if we compared to something like Vivo x100 pro & s24 ultra.. but definitely good for people casual shooting and check some banner or price tag of a product . Hahaha

I not sure if this occurred but you can't hear it, but some complaint that when take video, it capture the humming sound as well. Not sure it coming from Speaker or the Camera's Motor as many claimed. Do let me know if you found this issue in your Xperia 1 VI

actually now when open camera apps, i put my ear near the upper speaker (like pick up phone), I actually can hear very small voice sound like air vent to me, when i only hear it when camera apps open and i have to put my ear stick close to the upper speaker.

in your case, can you hear it too?

I pulled the trigger to update to latest firmware, I can confirmed the noise did really get louder, previous version your ear have to stick close to front speaker to hear it, now your ear can have maybe 3-5cm space and able to hear it.

In most normal case such as facing your phone while taking picture/video, you won't hear it, but taking video in quiet condition did would pick up the noise a little bit.

I won't say it become worse and impact a lot but it definitely louder than before and not sure if it a good thing to the hardware or not. To notice this noise I have to make sure my ear is close to the upper speaker, from the forum some people have same experience like me, some said it become so 'loud' when facing the phone 25cm also can hear the noise, the recording they share in drive also sound very loud and not exactly same like my case which is much more quiet.

For now i just wanna enjoy the smoother navigation experience for this update.

Do keep me update if any of you notice this Noise when you stick you ear very close to the upper speaker during open camera apps. Thanks.

Reminds me of one samsung model I had.. I think note 10 ..one update or was it hardware failure..caused a bug to make the OIS vibrate...lol.. which made this buzz sound and blurry photo.

Hi all sifus, is the Xperia 1 III still relevant these days in terms of photo taking?

Yes I understand that it's 3 years old and it will be my first xperia phone. I feel like getting a used one to replace my backup phone. Curious to know about the batt life and support etc.
