so far there are issues reported in Taiwan/HK users.. one of most concerned is about the leveling/angle of zoom camera of xperia 1v.. when switching from main cam to zoom cam, will see the difference..

Sony Malaysia is having bundle offer with whxm5. definitely buying this.

That would probably require a patch to fix it.

Well the Whxm 5 is worth MYR 1.8k. Sell it to recoup some money for the Xperia 1 V. 😁

I guess it's back since its available now. Review all around seems to be very positive, interested to try one ASAP. Heard from dealer that next week they will get the stock...

that's great.. it is a good buy if someone didnt have it in first place..

The quality of the telephoto zoom lens is abysmal due to the small aperture and variable focal length. Would rather they put in 2 telephoto lenses with fixed focal length and bigger sensor for higher image quality.

Other than that it is really a niche enthusiast phone for a photographer, photos come out really flat, neutral and least sharpened compared to many other phones which means it needs post processing for almost every picture. But hey, you're almost in 100% control over the processing.

Would not touch any China brand smartphones for security reason.

The Xperia's app setup is less bloated and the experience feels almost like using original Android OS.

it is same as 1 IV.. i did captured quite a number of nice photos with that small telephoto zoom lens on 1 IV.. but really have to know what is the capabilities of the zoom lens..

This group of photos to illustrate how it's looks like in term of zoom lens. But hand really have to hold firmly and I use P mode or S mode..

not really sharp but it is usable in my view.. for doing social media sharing or memories, it is more than enough.. color also neutral from phone itself.. but for some reason, we can boost saturation at post editing.. but with my wife iphone, it ady boosted and post editing, u will feel a bit weird if desaturate.. Sony it giving more room for post editing in my opinion.. iPhone aggressive HDR processing did too much in some ways in my view..

the ZPH youtube channel, his view is capture more details rather than no.. most camera processing boost shadows too much. yes, you got details.. but it looks unnatural at all..

ps.. captured by 1 IV with same hardware as V.. but software wise might different.. take it as reference..

I tried the V in Curve just now.. can confirm it sharper but honestly i don't see myself using the telephoto that much because it's not like a night and day difference. The main camera is a different ballgame tho...

Yaya. Since same hardware, basically different due to chipset processing power. Yeah, main cam is the game changer there. If got extra money to spend, can get it. Else, can wait for next one..

I'm using IV and it serve me well. even it is snapdragon 8 gen 1 but still ok for me.. for camera or video purpose, I could enable camera endurance mode which no issue for me to record 1 hour 4k interview session at all..

Yes correct.. If phone under warranty, they said, 1 to 1 exchange. No repair..
