I wonder the reason of delayed notification is because China ROM doesn't have Google Mobile Services (GMS) APIs on the OS. Many apps using GMS to provide push notification functionality, those apps doesn't need to run in the background but it still can receive push notification in real time with GMS. Right now WhatsApp is not running in the background on my phone but I can still receive notification in real time. With GMS, tens of apps doesn't need to run in background and drain the battery just so it can receive notification in real time. Also maybe why app such as WeChat need to set running in background or not optimized as these apps can't use GMS due to the origin country restrictions.

Which is why Motorola made their due diligence and created Moto Device Shield. They can't do anything but to follow China government.

Think of Moto Device Shield as "GMS" so you won't have delayed notifications.

This is also the reason why there is no Moto Device Shield in all Motorola global ROMs because they don't need this in the first place.

Buying phone with China ROM also need to consider on this as more apps need to allow running in the background also means will drain battery faster.

Edge30 have a poorer idle battery consumption compare to Honor Phone

For the price different, worth it for many. My last china rom phone is Redmi 5. Bad experiencd. Ads everywhere. So I never wanna tried china rom.
Even my global rom Huawei p30 pro also have ads when opening the apps gallery.

Because Edge30 is running a more powerful chipset than Honor phone.

True. All other China phones have so much bloatware and ads while Motorola China ROMs have clean, no bloatware stock Android.

Hmm don't give a high hope. Moto update is slowest among android brand, especially their high end device. Don't ever buy their device if update and bug fix is something important to you.

Even their previous flagship edge 30 ultra still ton of ppl complaint on turtle like updating speed with a13 still mia. Apparently for moto, after device is sold then they no bother with update.

Price is cheap but then support is not there. What more nonsense is that the so called clean vanilla android have poorer update than those android with custom skin on top 😂

Among popular brand, currently in term of update speed is pixel>sam>bbk phone>xiaomi then the last is moto. Moral of story is don't buy it especially the support is basically non existing in Malaysia 🥲

I agree moto support sucks. My moto got problem. Have to search for their service center. Call also number not in service. Personally go Lowyat and found out sudah tutup kedai. Search internet and go to plaza berjaya, cannot find also. Assuming sudah tutup kedai. Finally saw got another branch in endah parade. Call no one pickup gives me hope. Go to endah parade and found out no longer there. Ask the new office there and was told moved to 6th floor. Finally found it. All these were not updated in the internet.
Now phone still there no news.

Unexpected you tried so many places. Good that finally you found the service centre but ya moto suck. Only plus point is cheap price but what you pay is what you get. Update slow, photo processing not on par with other brand and no support 🥲

No choice got to fix the bloody phone. Cannot just throw it away right. Ask so many people also no one knows.
Anyway no more moto for me. But I believe if I buy imported set from fastech, he will settle the warranty for me, better service than local moto.

Look at your experience, probably that's true. If they don't have money to maintain service centre and provide better support, might as well withdraw from Malaysia market 😂
