I heard the best 5.1 headphone its the Medusa 5.1, it comes with its own amplifier w/o using usb-port.

coz ur used to logitech already.. we're used to razer.. u can say that its not comfy, but tht applies to ppl who arent comfy with razer.. same goes to logitech.. some ppl say logitech isnt really comfy, but that applies to ppl who arent comfy with logitech only.. some even like those a4tech than to logitech n razer.. it all depends on how ppl think n feel abt something... i guess laser technology is still new.. n there sure is problems with new tech.. very common.. once the tech matures im sure it'll be much better.. that is why the R&D department exists..

umm...wat has gold plated connectors gotta do with lan party?
its audio device...the gold plated suppose to help prevent corrosion of it...so maintain better signal etc.
all razer mouse also got gold plated, even barracuda got also.
i think piranha is the first without gold plated.
*
=.=" u kind misunderstood the meaning i said.. if u have watch the video clip at the site , u will know ( that guy got explain pirhana headset)
for pirahna is no need sofware/Driver install .. plus it is (Basic headset .. with surround sound .. ) size is kinda small than barracuda..

razer mouse and barracuda used USB gold plated .. coz they need sofware or driver to support .. and barracuda is using high end technology so is nop same as pirahna.. E.G - would u bring barracuda to a tourney or cyber cafe...? once u wanan use @ another pc , u need install driver or sofware to get a better signal, that i mean pirahana is used for lan party (place like tourney or cyber cafe). that is different with pirahna.. as i said the choice/taste of consumer is different.. i buy it coz it small and the material used is kinda good ( rubber ) and ( price is cheaper i get) ....

jimmydotnet, I think you have the preception that ALL razer mouse are Laser, not true. To me, the best ones are the Diamondback, Deathadder and Limited Edition Boomslang, all using the 3G IR sensor (I have all 3 of them).
I have to admit, I was a long time Logitech user before this year and switching to my first Diamondback wasn't the best experience. But it was when I bought my Deathadder was when I had the most comfortable experience, mostly because it's very similar to the MX500 which was what I was using previously.
Give the DeathAdder a chance if you wanted to switch to Razer. I did, and I never looked back!

calvinfc, the gold plated USB connector, like Everdying said is for better signal. It's just an added feature, that's all. It's NOT for LAN parties or anything like that. It's not to say the drivers or software makes a difference if it's a gold plated one or not, but it's just a nice feature to have. So when you said that it's not meant to have because it's not high-end or anything, me and Ever is just pointing out that Razer had to lower the bar and not include the gold plated USB.

the purpose of piranha's usb port is to supply power to the blue LEDs... i dun think it has got anything to do with better quality sound - thts y its not gold plated..

elsewise razer would have it gold plated..

omg.
wat is with the IQ of the ppl here?

all razer mouses also no need drivers to play, unless you want to use on-the-fly sensitivity.
i've brought my diamondback and copperhead to tournaments and practice before without using drivers and played perfectly fine.
and razer death adder and copperhead can store profiles, so can do dpi switching without drivers also.

gold plated obviously is to prevent corrosion, and of cos with less residue on the connectors u get better signal.
barracuda ALL the connectors including the 1/8 stereo jacks are gold plated, i never once mentioned or picked on the USB connector cos thats not as important as the stereo jacks.
from the looks of it...the piranha nothing is, not even the 1/8 stereo jacks.

i can show u lots of non-gold plated cables i got thats got some slight corrosion...plug in u get nice screeching sounds.

@blacktrix:

I'm also interested in the Deathadder but then the rubber surface made me worry. I heard that the rubber layer will wear off after certain period of usage. sweat.gif
