Provided that the staff sign you up for SWU 3.0, then the routers are free. (As mentioned by a lot of forumers here)

Now with my new D link wifi 6 router that room cannot get any 2ghz signal at all but surprisingly can get 5ghz signal but it is unusable bcs it's not stable at all with the low signal.

what model d link router you bought ?
its mean this router has weak 2.4 and 5 G wifi signals .

you may need a mesh system or try make AP mode with the tplink 1200,

I gotten 2 mesh capable WIFI6 routers (a dif brand).

The installer say these are free, but some ppl expecting DECO for it, that's not free.

Though since I have my own Asus router, I ask them need not install it.

Don't rely on free routers if you want to get the most out of your subscribed internet.

Save yourself some RM300-400 and go get a proper AX router. You won't even need to mesh it if a router itself is powerful enough.

I guess TM now got many mesh capable routers lineup in their inventory for free.

But still they're charging if you specifically signed up one with DECO.

My process is real fast, wen't on Friday of Merdeka long holiday, they registered my interest and say will contact in 3 working days.

Surprisingly next day (Saturday) the installer contacted and ask if free to install the new routers. After he came I checked my package, already changed to SWU.

i got the fiberhome AX3000 ones, 2 pcs so did mesh .
have been testing it and observing performance for 3 weeks now.
so far i will say very good.
am getting about 550 mbps downstairs and about 250 mbps upstairs in all rooms. am on 500 mbps speed for a year. swu3 .
performance is about same with my tplink AX73. this now keep for standby if above fails .

use google to learn that they use Mediatek cpu, samsung memory and branded wifi chips . tho the outside case looks cheap white plastic.

mediatek makes great cpu s as some are use in new Asus routers.

Fahmi says 5G adoption rate remains low at 4.2%, cites price of devices as one of the reasons

Friday, 08 Sep 2023 3:20 PM MYT

PETALING JAYA: Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said Malaysia’s 5G adoption rate remains low at 4.2% despite network coverage reaching 68.8%.

In the Facebook post today, he also said that the ministry will ensure 5G coverage continues to expand and hits 80% in populated areas by the end of the year "for the good of the people and the country".

On Aug 6, he said he had raised the issue of Malaysia's low 5G adoption rate during a visit to Samsung's headquarters in South Korea.

He added that the high cost of 5G devices was among the reasons for the low adoption rate.

He said the ministry will foster closer ties with telcos and Samsung to provide affordable 5G devices for users in Malaysia.

On Aug 31, his ministry launched the 5G Rahmah package with a device price as low as RM240, together with a 60GB data plan priced at RM60 a month.

Two types of phones were offered: the Samsung A14 5G and the Honor 90 Lite 5G.

Fahmi, who was at the MoU signing between CelcomDigi and Virnect, a South Korean tech company that designs and builds XR (extended reality) platforms for industries and organisations, said such partnerships can improve the 5G adoption rate.

He said the use of this technology will transform the teaching methods at universities into experiential learning, especially in the fields of healthcare, oil and gas engineering, robotics, and cybersecurity.

Last month, Fahmi said his ministry would also be meeting local mobile network operators (MNOs) to address reports on telcos imposing extra charges for 5G subscriptions.

Some telcos are reportedly charging between RM3 and RM20 more for 5G access.
