RAO ni ape? I cuba baca from soya cincau but cannot understand. Use a lot of data gonna get cheaper internet ke?
*
MSAP is the standard base pricing applicable to industry-wide.

RAO is formulated based on MSAP. It detail the costs for one to connect to a telco, to an ISP. RAO is player-specific. TM have its own RAO. Maxis have its own RAO. etc etc. Because each have their own different cost.

So basically when playerX want to lease, connect, etc etc from playerD, then RAO of playerD will be used to determine the pricing. So that everyone gets consistent pricing, not just based on suka-suka letak harga.

--

the MSAP 2023 is supposed to halve the cost of playerX leasing internet through playerD.

--

the outcry from TM's RAO is, instead of making it flat pricing for everyone, TM is now making it cheaper if playerX buy more volume, and more expensive if buying less gigabyte volume.

that invariably means, if your ISP with smaller customer base is using HSBB network, it might not be able to afford giving you discount as originally intended by MSAP, because it is impossible for your ISP to commit to larger and cheaper amount of gigabytes it cannot sell.

all that talk about promoting competing ISPs to become more creative with their sales and pricing is just bollocks. i.e. if you want to open new company selling fibre subscription, you better have large capital to grow your customer base and grow your commitment to be cheaper. unifi should already make calculation that the tier is beneficial to them, being the largest right now. competitors will have to throw money into enlarging their customer base (to make it possible to commit to cheaper volume). it's can be seen as barrier of entry erected by TM, and a increased cost pressure on existing smaller competitors.

you can see inside the soya's articles, that the opposite of MSAP happens; while previous MSAP did drive price down, the tiered pricing in the RAO released by TM did the opposite, causing price to exceed the previous price.

yes... they want lock us now before Sept !
they are pushing you to signup 24 months to 300mbps and above .
I guess they have a strategy to mitigate events in Sept.

prices might drop a bit in Sept or they give free speed upgrade for 1 year.

Majority subs/house are in the 100 mbps plan .
i see no reason for them to upgrade speed if they just do normal netflix , web browsing stuff, etc.

increase price of 1gbps and 2gbps first . decrease prices of all packages across the board in September. expect 1gbps and 2gbps packages for cash cows.

MCMC to review RAO published by TM
According to MCMC, they will review the RAO that was recently published by TM and will also seek clarification from the telecommunications giant to understand the basis and rationale of their tiered pricing approach adopted.

other telcos such as CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, Time, Allo and YTL Communications, do not apply a tiered pricing and most of their wholesale pricing for fibre access are either on-par or lower than the MSAP 2023 rates.

AIS of thailand reduces the price of broadband packages further.

500Mbps package from 600 Baht( RM76 ) last year to 500 Baht ( RM65 ). TM is a blood sucker.

There is a misunderstanding regarding the AIO plan
The old price has not yet been included with Unifi Mobile Postpaid 65, while the new price has been included with Unifi Mobile Postpaid 65

Disebabkan kekeliruan ini, maka pihak TM telah mengemaskini semula harga pada pelan tersebut. (Kali ni disertakan sekali dengan harga postpaid)

Okay, the only unusual thing is that the Unifi Gigabit All-In-One (with Ultimate Max Pack) plans and Unifi 100 Mbps (Ultimate Plus Pack) plan have a MYR 45 pricing difference, whilst the rest of the All-In-One plans have a MYR 55 price difference.

RM10 Discount

However, all All-In-One plans include a UNIFI5G Postpaid 65 SIM for MYR 55...So, I'm not sure why Unifi Gigabit All-In-One (with Ultimate Max Pack) plans and Unifi 100 Mbps (Ultimate Plus Pack) plans are priced differently (see my earlier post, which I have updated).

What about this news?

TM has increased the price of its Unifi Home 2Gbps plan from RM399 to RM428.90.

The new pricing includes a subscription to a standard Netflix plan, as well as access to the Unifi TV Ultimate Max package and a free WiFi 6-certified Mesh device.

TM has also increased the price of its 1Gbps plan from RM349 to RM378.90, but is offering users under this plan a free six-month speed upgrade to 2Gbps.

For those who have already subscribed to the plans, the price offering (with discount) is valid as long as they remain with their respective 24-month plans.

Currently, the company is not offering new users the choice of opting out of the additional Netflix subscription from the 2Gbps and 1Gbps plans. Both plans also come with a 24-month contract.

TM has stated that customers can downgrade their plan, but the existing contract will “reset to 24-months”.

Unifi plans without Netflix are available starting with the 30Mbps plan at RM89 monthly.

Any difference? The FAQ PDF is noted April 2023.

The price has been increased since they included Netflix. (New registration)
Since 23 June 2023. (NGAM Campaign)

While for existing users who want to upgrade to 1/2 Gbps with Ultimate Pack will be given a option (With or without Netflix)
The price is a little cheap than the original

Is the price in your linked image old or new? Although the 2 Gbps bundle without Netflix is represented as MYR 369 in my earlier screenshot rather than MYR 379 in yours, it appears to be the former price for existing customers.

Based on my old and new screenshots, the difference is MYR45 instead of MYR 55 for All-in-One Gigabit (1/2) Gbps Unifi (Ultimate Max Pack) plans, which does not match the price of the UNIFI5G PostPaid 65 mobile SIM pack.

Unifi Gigabit All-In-One (without Ultimate Max Pack) RM55 Increase
  • previous All-In-One 1 Gbps Unifi plan was RM299/m, now it is priced at RM354/m
  • previous All-In-One 2 Gbps Unifi plan was RM369/m, now it is priced at RM424/m
Unifi Gigabit All-In-One (with Ultimate Max Pack) RM45 increase
  • previous All-In-One 1 Gbps Unifi (Ultimate Max Pack) plan was RM338.90/m, now it is priced at RM383.90/m
  • previous All-In-One 2 Gbps Unifi (Ultimate Max Pack) plan was RM408.90/m, now it is priced at RM453.90/m
I don't think this is an MYR 10 discount price since all the details in each All-In-One plan are stated with the price of the UNIFI5G PostPaid 65 mobile SIM pack (MYR 55 ~ originally MYR 65 if you mean that MYR 10 discount for a limited time).

For 2Gbps, just additional RM29.90 gets RM66.87-worth of individual Netflix Standard (RM45 rrp), iQiyi Standard (RM11.90 rrp), Viu (~RM9.97 avg rrp).

For 1Gbps, just additional RM29.90 gets RM49.87-worth of individual Netflix Basic (RM28 rrp), iQiyi Standard (RM11.90 rrp), Viu (~RM9.97 avg rrp).

Since I am subscribing to all 3 anyway, Ultimate Max is no-brainer savings to get over Ultimate.

Unifi 5G have promotion; instead of RM65/mth, it's RM55/mth.

Also, price list ex-July for AIO plans DID NOT INCLUDE UNIFI MOBILE PRICING.
Thus the confusion it causes when people see there is almost no difference between w/ Mobile and w/o Mobile prices.

Not September but after September.

My guess 100mbps for RM89 or RM99.
That's why TM is trying hard to lock 24 months contract with swu 3.0 so they can earn more revenue instead later more people realize 100mbps is good enough why want to pay more for 300mbps?
