So I am currently in the market for a 150cc scooter and am currently eyeing the Yamaha Nmax V2, mainly for the looks and ergonomics. But the thing about it is that it doesn't hav ABS, which is confusing, considering that the NVX V2 comes with ABS option. And the latter also comes with Y-Connect, which is also a plus.

So I would like to know what other options is available in the market for a 150cc scooters other than these 2 or the Honda PCX and the Honda 150 Adv? Pricing below rm14k (I'm in Borneo).

Preferably something that comes with ABS and has a large underseat storage that could fit a full size helmet. I'm gonna be mainly do city rides, with occasional long tours (twisty mountain roads with uneven pavement) so a plush seat + good suspension setup is a huge plus.

Thanks!

From your list, ADV150 tick most of the boxes...but not sure how it fares for long tours....maybe pcx owner can share their exp a bit (same engine)

I rarely see PCX otr, only reviews online from our brothers on the other side of the ocean. For ADV150, I reckoned it would be great for long tours, but I did see on fb that some owners said that the bike doesn't really do the adventure as well as it was marketed. And the price and availability is something that push me away a bit.

Oh right, WMoto. I've seen the bike a few times now but haven't really got the chance to check it out. How's the parts availability and customer support? And how's the performance?

The ADV is probably just for looks and riding on the hype of the ADV750 which is truly capable off road. The 150 whereas, is probably more of an urban commuter.

Slower acceleration than the NVX. My group has those 2 models and they did a comparison. Not super slow...just more relaxed biggrin.gif

The Honda's will last forever. The ADV150 looks nice (if you can stomach the premium pricing dealers are charging for the ADV due to demand), but its not something I would go for, the "off-road" aesthetics are pretentious at most, its not like you would go anywhere far from the occasional gravel road with those small tyres. Its a sacrifice in weight and seat height that I think would be better served with the more "uncle" PCX. Btw, is the PCX160 here yet?

What i do want to see Honda do is actually bring in, is the SH150, a scoot with 17" wheels.

That said, But Im partial to the NVX ABS, mainly due to the more exciting power delivery. (i have one in Vietnam, where hondas are priced to something ridiculous). However if you have a longer commute or need more weather protection, you might want to look for a scoot with a more substantial fairing and windshield. Speeds hardly go more than 60 in vietnam, so a windshield is pointless.

Please do yourself a favour and get a bike with at least front ABS.

Wow, the SH150i 2022 edition looks really good! Would be good if it came in. Those 17" wheels would definitely make it a safer ride.

Unfortunately the SH is priced at a different rung, meant to compete with the Vespa Primavera. But the 17 wheels are a godsend. Its a good scoot that has been in the vietnam market for a long time. Shares it chassis with the bigger SH300, , which is great because in 300 guise, its actually smaller and more compact than the maxi 250/300 class scoots we have here.

if honda brings in the SH150/300, I would get one to replace my Dominar 400 commuter.

and btw, the NVX and PCX uses a standard sized 14/14 wheel. The ADV uses a 14F/13R wheel, perhaps a challenge to find replacement tyres as a set

Ya...it's just reskin version of PCX....and agree with the price...but since it got ABS, maybe suite with your requirement.

for 150cc scoot, I would personally choose Nmax due to relaxed seating position, competitive price and better performance than ADV.

for 150cc scooter, u can't expect much.
for me to choose.
Brand : reliability, backup. ease of mind.
prices : dont be to far away from other brand.
Purpose: taman riding with ease of mind, u can start n ride whenever u want.

just check, honda ADV rrp is 11k++ but now 12k++.
wmoto adv rrp is almost 9k but now u can get it at rm 8k++ n a few used bike in the market.

u can't go wrong with honda n yamaha or suzuki (if there still in the market).

I'd prefer Vespa over any scoot.
Body made of besi, comes with ABS, Immobiliser.
New enhanced sliding suspension (ESS) improves handling and rider comfort

A very pleasurable and smooth scoot to ride daily to work for 3 yrs now. (My own experience)

either ADV or NMAX.

NMAX is way comfier and bigger fuel capacity than NVX.
ADV is more on sport touring look. handling wise is gooding as well.

if get either ADV or NMAX. u can opt on the rear storage for your helmets.

im using NVX with ABS. but i disable the ABS as i switch to nissin samurai brakes and bigger rotor for better braking.
plus, if u pick NVX. first thing u need to do is, change the front fork spring.

I noticed a lot of people mention about mods required on Yamaha bikes to make it better even when fresh out from shop, but not Honda bikes.

Is Yamaha really that bad, new out of shop or it's just expectation of riders on Yamaha bikes?
