I've heard that the wmoto scooters es250i or quite possibly the soon to be launched xdv250i is kambing aka not rain friendly. A bit sad since looking forward for an affordable lean city scooter with ample displacement.

If thread owner's requires lots of underseat storage, WMOTO may not be the best options.

Touch wood, so far I left my motor under the rain for the past 1-2months nothing happen yet and hope nothing happen. I think there is no other option beside es250 for 250cc with compact size to use in heavy traffic.

Yes, the underseat storage can't even fit a normal helmet it only able to fit turtle type. Normally I keep complete set raincoat, lunch box bag, jacket is already 90% full ... So I need to carry my normal size helmet to my office desk every day...

But this thing is fast, compact & light weight so I just tolerate all those cons...

The new WMoto XDV 250i said to be able to store full-face helmet underseat due to smaller 13.5L fuel tank.

But not sure how this 168kg 'urban adventure' scooter fits city ride.

Expected to launch in October though.

Boss, after 6 months can you give a quick review on the bike? Including service and parts etc. Quite interested in it as an alternate bike.

U may tag me after 6months, I did a service on 400km at mforce HQ
engine oil 1.3L (manufacturer recommended PJ1 scooter RM42/L)
Gear oil 250ml (PJ1 RM12/100ml)
Btw my monthly mileage is around 600km only, after 6months of usage I think only need to change engine oil & gear oil only

Preferably something that comes with ABS and has a large underseat storage that could fit a full size helmet. I'm gonna be mainly do city rides, with occasional long tours (twisty mountain roads with uneven pavement) so a plush seat + good suspension setup is a huge plus.

Thanks!

150 scooter, none of then have underseat storage big enough to fit a proper full face. Even the ADV150 that boast large storage in it's class, the storage cannot fit my Shoei open face. End up having to install a tail box.

250 scooter like Forza and XMax can fit my Shoei with the seat just barely touching the top of the helmet when seat is shut. Full face Shoei will be super tight fit.

Shoei has larger shell than most other helmet.

That's the character of Piaggio designed engine..

All Vespa has that.. also Recently just did test ride the SR GT Aprilia, also Vibrates while idling, maybe due to that Italians put stop start feature during idling.

if big storage is what TS is looking for then unfortunately, only the Maxi scooters will have it. The Forza has an absolutely HUGE storage. The 150 are usually very tight, especially those with the fuel tank is under the seat.

You could look at the PCX150 if you want bigger underseat storage. Regardless, scooter storage is vast compared to our big bikes....

Seriously, you can't go wrong with the PCX as long as that "uncle" look suits your style. You could very easily fit a big aftermarket windshield and good weather protection is a big plus for faster rides or bad weather. New updated PCX160 is coming soon, which will undoubtedly also come with the much important ABS this time around.

Am considering this for my daily ride to work. To and fro would be around 120km.

Do you remember anything good or bad about this scooter?

Thanks

Good,

1. More powerful than average 150cc class scooter. Especially on acceleration.
2. Compact size.
3. Awesome brakes both front and rear.
4. Bright headlight and tail light.
5. Strong support from the Distributorship (Motoplex)
6. Pirelli dual purpose tires for scooter (good grip) as standard.

Bad,

1. Bad rear suspension, too soft even at the hardest level (don't try to pillion anyone with more than 50kg of weight at the back)
2. EXPENSIVE for a 170cc scooter
3. Vibration during idle, but they have stop start engine system.
4. You can get a faster, or bigger scooter with less money, it just minus the Continental branding.
5. Slight expensive on maintenance compare to the Asian counterparts.

My advice, if 120km I assume you need to go through some Highway? then with the 20k take a 250cc scooter, either XMAX, or those WMoto/Modenas models.

Thanks for the heads-up. Appreciate it very much.

I love that Aprilia has the steel braided brake hose, Nissin brakes and Showa absorbers as standard. The one that I tested has Michelin Anakee specially made for the SR GT.

First choice would be XMAX 300/250 SP Edition that comes with Ohlins as standard at the back. If only HLYM bring those beauties in.

They did come with Racing Boy parts, especially the rear absorber, make the SR GT firmer but harsher on the Malaysia road.

Thanks for the info.

Just received info that HLYM will be bringing in the XMAX SP Edition. The 250 version will be in Malaysia next year. Exact date/month however still not available.
