Hi people,

I'm just planning to start applying for university as I just obtained the hard copy of my results yesterday. I didn't know that the January intake for UCSI starts their class that early until I checked the academic calender for year 2012 through the website. I'm going to miss the orientation day for sure even if I apply for it within these few days. So should I wait for the next intake, or just go for the January one? Is the orientation day important actually?

I'm planning to take Food Science and Nutrition course by the way.
Thanks.

Hi! I am UCSI Food Science and Nutrition student. smile.gif Jan will be my first year semester 2.
Believe me, orientation day is not important at all. I feel like I have wasted my time joining orientation day especially day 2.
Some of my coursemate even joined us after one week the school started. shocking.gif
Feel free to contact me if you need any help.

Anybody know how things work out with industrial placements as part of the engineering degree? Are you just given a list of companies to choose from, or are you free to solicit whomever you wish?

Thanks for the advice. At last I decided to enter the January intake.
I joined in one week after class started and I realized there's still a lot of people coming in later than me. :P

By the way, I would like to help one of my friends who is currently staying at Angkasa Condomium to ask a question.
Does anyone here know what is the fastest and nearest way to get to Mid Valley, KL Sentral, Sunway Pyramid etc. using public transportation from Taman Connaught?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

To mid valley take ktm at bandar tasik selatan. For kl sentral you can take ktm or KLIA transit which costs about rm5. For pyramid go to kl sentral and take a rapid kl bus to pyramid.

That's not true. We still open to public, however we will reserved the seats for our own foundation students, and their result will only be out on MAY. You still can apply and we will keep you in the list, once that's seat for you we will inform you, then you can proceed for payment.

Hope I answered your question.

Thanks for clarification.

One more question : Does it mean , for Medicine course ,until :-

1 ) all Jpa/Mara places are fully sorted out/filled up and;

2 ) after confirmed acceptance of Ucsi Foundation students well after release of May results ,

then only unconditional and conditional offers for the balance places shall be made to general public like A levels/STPM applicants? smile.gif

Dear Zeng,

To reply your query:

1) All the JPA/MARA students are subjected to final interview prior joining our degree year 1, so there is high chance that the seats are not fill up. If you are STPM holder, then I encourage you to submit application first because there are students who do not go through the selection process, chance is there. If you are SPM holder, no worry at all because you will be our priority for next year selection into our MD degree year 1.

2) UCSI Foundation students will go through the selection process same as JPA/MARA students. We treat everyone equally the same when it comes to selection process. As for MD year 1 intake, yes, we will open up to public application if there are seats available. We also try to increase the numbers of seats for our MD course. So, please apply now as they are always a chance.

Hope it helps. Good luck! biggrin.gif

Regarding the BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, it is stated that all of UCSI University's engineering degree programmes comply with the latest requirements for accreditation by the Malaysian Engineering Accreditation Council. But I went to official website of Malaysian Engineering Accreditation Council and check the List of Accredited Engineering Programme, I realized that there is just 3 programmes had been accredited by EAC which are BEng (Hons)E&E, BEng (Hons) Communication and Electronic and BEng (Hons) Mechatronic. I can't find BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering at the list, however, at the other University such as UTAR and MMU, BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering is accredited. May I know why?

here is the link http://www.eac.org.my/web/document/list%20...01.2012)%20.pdf

Besides, may I know what is the entry requirement of MBA, what is Honours Degree in related discipline or Equivalent, is BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering or other engineering consider as the Honours Degree in related discipline or Equivalent of MBA?

Hi, thanks for your interest about our programmes. For your info normally accreditation is received once first batch is graduated , Mechanical and few other programmes are new. We have graduated several batched for EE, CE and Mechatronic and have full accreditation. We will get full accreditation for mechanical, Civil and other new programs once first batch is graduated and in the mean time we have provisional accreditation. So, it is matter of time and following the standard process of getting accreditation.

For MBA, most honours degrees including engineering are accepted.
