how's de quality of uni in B.Pharm (Hons.) ?? do they offer scholarship for undergraduate?

sighs...
i think i am going to take pharmacy course offered by ucsi due to my financial prob after i have completed my a-levels...
cause its the cheapest...is it true that all the good lecturers have gone?anyone who is studying this course in ucsi can give me some advice?

Popularity of a University does not depend on the amount of development activity but the quality of graduates and the recent renewal of course has caused many confusion for new students. Also, I would be happy if UCSI really care and solve some of the student's issues - parking, computer facilities, library expansion..

No, that is only for the old course structure. Please revise this statement to reflect with the new course structure that started this year.

On the side note: Kinda agree with the message left, if you asked how is UCSI, the answer would be don't come

Hi, i've just finished my spm and am now surveying for good and affordable colleges..

i came across ucsi and find it pretty good, in my personal opinion..
however, i've heard stories and rumours from friends and seniors that ucsi is not a good college, ucsi cheats money, ucsi degrees are not recognised etc..
i was wondering if any ex-ucsi students or current ucsi students can clarify this?
i'm worried at the thought that i wasted my time and money studying in a college that the degrees are not recognised..

i am planning to take foundation in arts and then accounting and finance or acturial science as my degree..
can any accounting and finance ucsi students briefly describe to me how is the degree?
Is it recognised? Are there still good lecturers around?

and acturial science is going to be introduced later this year, according to them..
so if i take it next year after my foundation studies, will it be risky?
since it's a whole new subject, and i may be one of the new students trying it..

i do hope someone can help me in this, i would really appreciate it..

Hi zstan, to be honest, the real and genuine USM syllabus is way very much superb and comprehensive. Honestly, one of the reason UCSI modify or revise USM actual syllabus is because they know their student wouldn’t have make it with the actual USM syllabus. Their syllabus now is easier than the actual USM syllabus. Actually, IMU started pharmacy course (twinning program to be exact) in Malaysia before UCSI did. Only later on, IMU started their full local pharmacy course. As you mentioned earlier on that, comparatively UCSI is if not better or at least on par with IMU right, it’s because previously UCSI is in collaboration with USM which that time they follow the full USM syllabus without revising it. The exam questions are set by USM, the very same questions for their student in penang USM too. Even the examination time are scheduled exactly same. All papers are marked by USM lecturer’s way up north in Penang. Imagine, the UCSI student is being thought by UCSI lecturers in KL but the exam questions are from penang USM. Heard that UCSI students have to go north to get the USM lecture notes from the USM student, what more complicated is, the USM notes are in BM. UCSI student gather text books and translate the note to English (UCSI KL teach in English). But in between, there is quizzes and side test from UCSI (this time the questions are from UCSI), the UCSI student have to study UCSI notes as well. Acquiring USM notes, translating them, studying them and at the meantime have to study UCSI notes as well for quizzes and tests, all these contributes into producing what you said if not better or on par. Lecturers as you said most of them left. Okay, the UCSI-USM collaboration has ended, UCSI is on their own now so back to the question; is UCSI pharmacy good? You be the judge.

i was planning to do accounting and finance for my degree..
but when i went for the edu fair this year, they told me ucsi are offering a new degree, which is acturial science..
that's why i was torn between accounting and finance or acturial science..
but zstan mentioned about taking alevels now for better understanding when i take acturial science later..
but i applied for foundation in arts course in the ucsi scholarship..
so i guess i have to say goodbye to acturial science :S
and hello to accounting and finance..
anyway, i'm not sure whether i can get the scholarship also..
ucsi haven't send me the acceptance letter..
i studied hard to get straight A's in spm so that i can get scholarship..
but now, i realised that straight A's doesn't mean you'll get the scholarship also, it's quite frustrating because i wanna lessen my parents' burden as much as possible.. sigh, ooh well..

Hmmm i mean if u borrow ptptn loan, after that if u get first honour, then u no need to pay back the loan to ptptn in future. it juz free for u, but there are some cases which if u extend ur course then even u get first honour, u still have to pay back the loan to ptptn. For more information, i think u ask UCSI consultant better. becoz i heard my best fren from USM said this to me. I'm not so sure whether it will happen in UCSI University or not.

So i advise him / her come meet our UCSI consultant will be better. if as u said private uni dun have such things, then i think he go for diploma better, after that get good result apply for scholarship and go for degree. when u apply for diploma, i think there is scholarship as well. so from diploma till u finish ur degree also get it FREE. haha..... total 55-65k+ (include daily expenses)

hmmm can use foundation result to apply scholarship for degree? Never heard before.

where did u see UCSI web site offering Actuarial Science? I click the Programme button at the web site, there have no shown any Actuarial Science course. If you really saw it, would u mind post the web site for me? If UCSI University really offering, if i'm not mistaken it is not been recognized yet becoz of new course at UCSI University, haven't get approval from Government Education Dept.

id like to ask, lecturers for degree in english language and communication good?

ucsi offered me the scholarship..
but it's not full, only 50%..
i'm not trying to complain, but okay, i dunno what reaction should i give..
i'm happy that i got the scholarship, but on the other hand, it's only 50%..
i was actually hoping for full scholarship because one of the staffs there told me that i had a very high chance of getting the full scholarship based on my straight A's result, despite having 2 A-..
i feel a little disappointed with myself, somehow..
but ooh well, i guess life's like that..
you dun alwiz get what you wanted..

yea there are a lot houses wit condos around UCSI. Hmm if i'm not mistaken, our UCSI Hotel and Tower is under construction. I saw some tractors are dig or doing something there.

two more lecturers from pharmacy program will leave the university....
hopefully, there will be new lecturers come in to replace them...
