4G is too congested (sambil menjeling kat Axiata...) ... better deploy 5G ASAP to reduce the congestion (in high populated areas...)

Let's wait the "promise" to offer "cheaper" 5G plans/rates by all telcos...

In the meantime, "early birds" will enjoy FREE unlimited FUP quota and 100Mbps guaranteed DL speed of YES 5G offering until 31st March 2022.... whoever working/staying inside the coverage area, should grab this "early birds" offer...

Update: YES have shipped out my 5G simcard.

They are using Ninja Van, so I am a bit skeptical whether it will arrive tomorrow. Had a few orders via Ninja Van always arrived late

Existing Yes customers can make the switch to the 5G plans, however, you’ll need to switch to a new SIM. The only way to do so is by dropping an email to yescare [@] yes.my.

Unfortunately, the Yes Prepaid FT5G is only offered to new customers. If you’re an existing Yes prepaid subscriber and wish to keep your number, you must upgrade to the Yes Postpaid FT5G RM49 option and you can only do so over the counter.

You can’t get the 5G-enabled SIM in store
Following the launch of Yes 5G service yesterday, we went to a Yes store at Lot 10 hoping to get a prepaid starter pack. Unfortunately, the Prepaid SIMs are not available at the store and the only way to pick up a 5G-enabled SIM is to order online via their website.

Anyone know what are the 5G bands that use by DNB/Yes? n28 & n78? Using a China phone, not sure able to use the 5G or not.

Currently DNB uses n78 3500MHz

The phone also must support LTE band 28 700MHz as anchor band/control plane because DNB currently operates 5G NSA (non-standalone network), which relies on 4G LTE to operate

I meant LTE band 28, NOT 5G n28 as anchor band

If phone has LTE band 28, it is likely to work on DNB's 5G if the phone also supports 5G n78

That's how I figured out DNB operates in NSA mode
