Did you try to do a manual network search and see if there is a Yes 5G network ID in your area?
*
i did, i didn't find Yes 5G, I found Yes 4G and 1 more unnamed 502159 network but I couldn't connect to it

Me think ur Sammy is not supported by YES "yet". Filter over here..... Don't use the DNB list. That list are "temporary" or mixed with P1 webe UniFi inventory.

Then, me suggest try chat again to DOUBLE TRIPLE check whether the device is CURRENTLY supported by YES-5G infra....most probably his/her answer is "Sorry Sir, the device is CURRENTLY not supported our 5G infra...."

Still no 5G?

If not, it seems like DNB/Yes only allows device listed on their website.

Context from this video: https://youtu.be/rjJNyoojuQw

That's how I figured out DNB operates in NSA mode
*

That guy on Facebook posted screenshots from Network Cell Info Lite, which confirms that DNB is indeed using NSA mode (LTE band 28 as anchor band/control plane)

The only problem is Network Cell Info Lite doesn't support displaying 5G bands/signals

And yes, he also confirms that video streaming is capped at 1.5Mbps like regular YES Kasi Up RM30 plan

UPDATE

No joy using Yes 5G on my S21 Ultra.

I am at The Gardens right now which supposed to be covered under 5G.

while on the way to The Gardens along the road also no 5G icons.

restarted many times.

looks like I either have to wait Yes to include S21 Ultra or wait my primary telco Maxis to come up with 5G package

So sad, the Ultra is supported by DNB, however YES may need some time to enable 5G on the Ultra, hopefully within this week.

Yes samsung phone need update firmware for add 5g support. This is why most samsung 5g phone are expected only support by next year because SME need work with DNB for firmware support

NSA mode is preferred becoz it is "easier" to deploy and also will be compatible with NSA devices (mostly from BBK like OPPO, Vivo, One+, RealMe, etc).

Yup. Talked to CS and they actually found out that the baseband/firmware doesn't have 5G enabled (although it appears in settings and the secret settings up, samsung have to enable the baseband) and a OTA/Software update has to be pushed to enable it. They aim to push the software update soon.

Ooh all the Xiaomi phones have Dual 5G support and they're actually cheaper than the Oppo and Vivos. 😮

thats ridiculous
5G is live already in Malaysia, not trial anymore....
if Samsung is not ready 5G in Malaysia, then don't add "5G", or write it down obviously saying that to use 5G needs firmware / baseband upgrade in Malaysia
rather than just saying 5G network is various around the world...
