My vote is for Lenovo. Had a Y580 (iirc) and now a T590. Both are good and stable.

Dell always problematic for me. Had an XPS and that had charging problems after a year. Office Dell had motherboard and fan problems that the technician couldn't fix. I just returned it for another after 3 years. Luckily didn't have to use it often. Only took it when I had to travel on business.

Company HP also very unstable. Damn expensive workstation laptop and always giving blue screen. This was about 10 years ago. Older models were damn solid, though. Had a few in the lab that we took to the mountains for experiments and sub zero weather in snow and rain (just wrapped in plastic bag).

Asus had a cracked casing in less than a year., But that was 15 years ago. Think they fixed it for newer models, but still feels flimsy to me.

I prolly prefer Lenovo.

Had 4 Dell Inspiron in my company and all of them seems to be problematic in one way or another. Their warranty service is top notch though, but some problems are weird. Not sure how to even ask for warranty as it comes and goes.

Lenovo - Most of them seems pretty good, though 1 batch of Lenovo IDEApad had all the SSD failing, aside from that it's all good.

Hello. Please share how long you been using your laptop and what brand is it?

I been using Lenovo laptop. Now its around 7 years already. However during the 3rd year, both motherboard and HDD failed. Claimed under warranty.

7 years is a long time and is good enough. You should get a faster CPU in 7 times.

All my laptop don't last more than 4 years.

I am using ASUS now and it is still working after 4 years.

Is the Lenovo as reliable as ASUS? I am having ASUS now which is taiwanese brand.

I never had any problem with Asus for 3 to 4 years already.

Is Lenovo body metallic or plastic?

Nowadays most laptops use plastic ABS material and very flimsy.

T430 second hand

Model from 2012
Bought in 2017-ish

Last 2 years buy new battery, but condition barely changed
Last year only change the fan

If anything, you are more likely to focus on fan problem than anything else on laptop

It should be based on the series not the brand. One cannot compare the reliability of a consumer grade laptop with an enterprise grade laptop.
Eg Dell Latitude, HP Elitebook, ACER Travelmate, Lenovo Thinkpad and etc. Usage environment also matters a lot.

Asus A43S bought since 2014.
Just upgrade RAM and changed SSD.
Connect to Samsung syncmaster 2333 until now still usable for my office work.
Recently bought an ideapad gaming 3 but seldom use it.

Americans always like to say China's products are inferior to theirs. Now it's the other way. Chinese products are better than American products.

Americans workers are actually quite lazy compared to Chinese if you ever work in USA.
