was trying my luck to activate volte with digi on my pixel 4.

they activated for me without asking what device i am using and also received sms from digi but still can't get the volte option after reboot, etc.

i guess it has something to do with my device as well hmm.gif

Pixel device are not configured at the Digi Network switch side in other words the network will not recognize Pixel as a VoLTE enabled device, therefore even they push to you doesn't mean you Pixel will be able to have VoLTE connected the network because the handshake will not work, this is confirmed by my friend who works there he asked the person who did the provisioning. There are other work around someone commented earlier, I think that work around method is to trick Digi by sending the signal that its one of the VoLTE enabled device (example samsung / huawei / iphone) so that the handshake will work.

My pixel 6 got stuck in Sepang Customs because sirim rejected my import permit application. they rejected it because Pixel 6 uses Wifi 6E which is not allowed in Malaysia.

I will never root again after my bad experience with security breach. It just basically open the phone to attacks. The trade off to open up additional feature is not worth it considering I also use phone for banking and ewallet stuff, rooting will prevent usage of those apps as well. I guess just live without VoLTE or hope google will bring in Pixel officially soon.

Not sure about ushopus but amaboxly will handle the tax/customs clearance from their end and you dont have to worry about it being stucked there

Looks like the folks over at Techbug were able to deliver their first batch of Pixel 6 regular pre-orders to a bunch of earlier adopters.

Good on them!

For those who are still ruminating over when to purchase one, it's probably a better idea to wait till Jan 2022 since Google has several major bug fixes to be addressed over software updates in the next 2 months i.e Fixing the horrible noisy front facing camera for the regular 6 Pixel model, the green flickering light when pressing the power button on the Pixel 6 pro model, etc etc.

And all these VoLTE issues are supposed to be gone by start of next year. Seems very unlikely..

Does the price usually drop here after 2-3 months?

My Huawei Mate 10's battery is getting worse by the day and the Huawei OS has been frustratingly aggressive in killing apps and notifications of late so I'm thinking of changing. There really isn't much out there apart from an iPhone. I don't trust Samsung. OnePlus is no longer decent. So it's quite timely to be getting a Google phone now. I'm not in a rush though so I'm wondering if I should wait if the price drops over the next couple months.

In short, yes. Google US will usually slash USD50 - USD100 max off their new Pixel models during Black Friday sales in the past.

However, for this year i haven't seen any Black Friday offers for the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro popping up anywhere just yet. Perhaps its too premature given the fact that Google is messing up their customer pre-orders on launch day and at the same time is facing production challenges to meet customer demand.

My best guess is that this year there won't be any discounts for the Pixel 6 line up seeing how majority of customers are expecting to recieve their Pixel 6 Pro delivered to them in December 2021 or later. I foresee that there will be supply challenges prolonged till Q1, 2022.

You're probably better off ordering the regular Pixel 6 now instead since this model isn't facing any fullfillment delays at the moment.

Don't fret. No harm waiting since all new Pixel releases are half-baked and riddled with bugs upon release that will eventually be patched with monthly software updates.

Black Friday deals are meant in US only .. I don't think it will be extended here sweat.gif
Also Google have issues fulfilling the current order .. this will be a let down to others

Thanks. Yeah I'd be peeved if I pre-ordered and had not received my unit while there were black Friday discounts...

I'm most likely getting a regular Pixel 6. My biggest concern is actually about the multiple reports saying that the charge times are really slow... I'm quite used tou Huawei fast charge which is really quite quick.
