so it wont have internet

bangwall.gif
dont think will work also since the volte toggle is not available  rclxub.gif

yes confirm local telco will not register pixel phone for VoLTE because it is not officially sold here. At least that is how Digi works

anyone try buying the phone from US using yellow porter or BuyandShip service? what would be the best method? I know sooner or later shopee's grey market seller will sell this.

i think all telco will have the same idea  ranting.gif

but funny since it is software based ... maybe need to flash another rom ontop?
*
it is controlled at the cell tower / switch also because as I understand (I know people from telco that does this provision process) that telco need to provision it, so the 4g tower if not configured to recognize the Pixel phone it will not enable VoLTE, therefore no ROM bypass can enable this

There's already a method of enabling volte on previous pixels by importing MBN file from a different phone with volte supported and already enabled to the pixel. But it requires root, you can find the method on xda. Users on fb group already tried it and able to make it work for Maxis, Digi, celcom. Hopefully the same method can work on P6 & P6 Pro
*
good to know then, perhaps it is a way to trick the telco to tell this is a Volte enabled phone. I had bad experience with Root, my Pixel 4XL phone got hacked and keep sending premium sms up to RM200 / month of phone bill. I usually vary of clicking any accept in the link however I just follow the normal rooting process to enable Soli Radar and call screening, but got hacked like that. After that I would not want to root anymore mad.gif

I would strongly advice against rooting your pixel. You are basically opening up the phone to attacks, defeat the purpose of the flagship security built in, really not worth the trade off for enabling additional features.

some apps won't work with rooted devices especially banking apps

yes you mention that I forget that , that was one of my frustration and trade off, 2 years back I was curious about Soli Radar, but end up its justa gimmick. I do like call screening though, can wade off many spam calls tongue.gif I wish call screening is enabled in Malaysia

very hard to find good tempered glass, and also when applying UV-cured tempered glass, if installed wrongly the glue will enter your ear piece making it permanently damaged. And even if you have tempered glass, if the phone fall and land at then edge (curved side), it will surely break. Not to mention the accidental touch when using the phone. And finally, if you want to replace it, it is very expensive, even my S10+, to replace from samsung charge RM 780 (can check from their official website).

Now, imagine if you break your pixel 6 pro glass, can you imagine the trouble you need to go through to get it replaced?

So, ya that's why I pre-order the regular 6 instead.

I think brand like Spigen offer good protection to the side. but yeah nothing is perfect, for me I will use the phone for 2 years , and a 20x zoom is really handy. If I go travel I would prefer to just use the smart phone instead of carry mirrorless camera. The last I check that my pixel 4xl takes better photo most of the times than my mirrorless Fuji x-t20 blush.gif

So i think the drawback is worth it. Depends how you weight the drawbacks

no idea yet
but if you see other countries like JP, AUS, TW the range is around 2.6k to 2.8k for a P6 128gb  mega_shok.gif

so the local seller might be ok lah not to have the headache when there is any problem ... touchwood

then SG pricing should technically be much cheaper than grey market

I did a complaint 2 years ago to my telco Digi about VoLTE for pixel support, I did again yesterday they told me to email them as a request so I did, can't put too high hope they will do it, but I believe is enough noise that may change things.

we can take a pinch of salt with such review. if 10 people say the SOT sucks then probably it is, but if 1/2 say so and 1/2 says its good, then just it really depends on the usage. I wouldn't concern too much, Pixel this round comes with large battery and all the software with tensor to optimise the power consumption, logically it should not perform that bad.

i believe the material you android 12 is not optimized enough

i am using android 12 in p4xl and the battery life is very bad

I am also using 4XL, android 11. 2 years phone battery possible wear out. I am not sure if your experience is worst with Android 12. But for me even android 11 is not that good now

i normally can get 4.5 hours of SOT in android 11 but now around 3.5h after updated to android 12
*
I see, ok in that case it doesn't look good then. The 120hz screen will sure drain up power faster on the pixel 6 pro to make it worst

didnt have high hope, but making noise is better than not. Hopefully can get these telco to work on VoLTE for Pixel. I used to work for telco last time before iPhone 1 is launch they already have 1 in their testing lab to test all the telco network function. I guess they also need to do the same for Pixel phones. Reason they don't care is because the number of Pixel users here are too low for them to bother. mad.gif
