Anyone know when will iphone 13 be available to buy direct in future at either stores? Need wait a few months? If based on past new iPhones like when 12 first released?

Still thinking whether to buy iphone 12 or 13 since difference in price only 500 or so. Iphone 12 I can buy now many places selling, but 13 need wait for Apple to sort out its logistics.

"lag". I find that this word is subjective to every person. 1 seconds slow might consider as lag to some, while some said it's not lag.

To me, the 3rd year onwards it lags, as in it takes slightly longer to open apps. Scrolling may still be smooth. But launching apps and in app loading takes longer. If u don't understand what mean, go to any demo unit, compare a 3 or 4 older generation iPhone with the latest iPhone and do a speed launching test. Guaranteed u will see the difference.

btw, u mentioned shopee, if u are a heavy shopee user who always collect voucher, u will know that collecting voucher needs to be very very very fast. besides having a fast finger, ur phone needs to respond very fast. and this is where u cannot afford any lag.

Anyone try rhinoshield before? Is it good for drop protection?

Good stuff for edge protection. Not so much if your phone drop on uneven terrain. Best if you want to feel the glass texture of the phone.

As an Apple fan, I am quite disappointed with the 13 announcement. Not a fault of Apple tho, I just find it very hard to justify RM 4K for another slab of glass.

I want to be excited by tech again, thus I will sit out the upgrade and switch to Z Flip 3 this year. At least the folding is a head turner.

I feel that’s the biggest selling point of Apple iPads and iPhones. If you’re the type that can afford to keep change phones every year and want the more advance gadgets then can try Android like new Z flip.

Apple tend to play it safe from their innovation perspective. They want something to be really safe and works before implementing it into their products.

I checked YouTube speed test for older phone like XS and XR. Working fine though. Won't notice slow app loading unless put iPhone 12 side by side

Agreed on the point that Apple plays it safe with innovation. Its no secret that they let other manufacturers beta test certain features, then Apple will take those features to the mainstream.

I actually went from iPhone X during launch > iPhone 11 > iPhone 7 plus > iPhone 7. I'm just bored of the candy bar design/glass slab design, that's all.

I've already got my Z Flip3 and enjoying it so far. Ngl I do miss iMessage and certain iOS apps/functionality, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for something entirely new.

My mum is still using her iPhone 5S - works fine and Apple still releases security updates for it from time to time. Opening apps is super slow now -2 to 3 seconds or even longer, but for my mum it serves her basic needs of making and receiving calls, WhatsApp messaging and occasionally watching YouTube videos. That’s a 2012 phone. The Android flagship equivalent is a Galaxy S3. That’s not even a peasant phone now. It’s a paperweight.
Agree, I think those waiting for another “wow” moment from Apple for future iPhone launches will be greatly disappointed. It’s only gonna be incremental upgrades from here on. But their mantra remains the same - “it just works”. Whether it works for one or not depends on the individual.

Is the Apple store trustworthy when it comes to delivery estimates? Her birthday is coming soon. Actually wanted to pick Pink or Starlight 128GB but the delivery estimate passed her birthday date, so picked the 256GB Starlight. The estimate given just sneaked below my required date. I hope it will arrive as promised.

So far, they've only billed me for the 20W charger. Haven't billed me for the phone yet. I assume they will on the 8th when it's officially launched?

How's the battery life of z flip 3 for you? I like flip phones but:

No charger in the box
-can say the same about iPhone, Apple basically started the whole thing lol

Average battery life
-I can consistently get 4.5 hours of screen on time, with 120hz and cover display AOD always on. Good enuf for my usage as I don't game and I go 50-50 with my ipad for Reddit and news. Check the LYN Z Flip3 thread for my deets

More expensive than iPhone 13
-indeed it is, mine is RM 3,999. But relative to the tech in it (folding LTPO OLED screen) I'd say it's quite accessible now compared to before

Can't get those Customised strap like in Korea
-can't say much about this as I'm not a fan of phone straps

Camera not better compared to other flagships
-yes, the camera is just so-so. I've always regarded iPhones as the best in class for cameras so this isn't a deal breaker for me

Slower charging
-it's definitely slower than my iPhone X/11 but not so much that I immediately notice it. Way faster than my old iPhone 7
