Getting an iPhone 13 mini 256GB in red. The reduced notch size cleared more room on screen. Upgrading & downsizing from an iPhone 11 128GB black (anyone want a mint used iP11?)

Going to pick up the new iPad 9th gen for media consumption.

USB-C is nice to have (wtf Apple, my MBP is USB-C, the iPad 2021 is kilat, iPhone 13 lineup is kilat.) but not a feature, just convenience.
Higher refresh rate, doesn't make a huge difference if you don't game (yes limpeh know the importance of it, my Odyssey G9 is 240hz), and on the mini I won't consume media on it, will use the iPad with bigger screen. Most of my usage is texting, browsing, some email reading, video call and voice -- which is why the refresh rate doesn't matter.

But I think the cameras which is inherited from the 12 pro max? (correct me if I am wrong) is quite good right? The 13 pro lineup is for creators already, all the features that a casual user like me won't appreciate.

What was important to me was the better (than 12 mini) battery life and almost on par with iPhone 11 that I am using. And the smaller notch give you a "bigger" screen compared to the 12 mini, which matters for the 13 mini.

I agree with this.

When I purchased iPhone 7 128GB, was because my iPhone 6s 64GB was almost used up. But when it was time to upgrade from iPhone 7 to 11, I remained at 128GB because at that point in time my usage was roughly 70GB

And now my free space is ~15GB, so it's time to get the iPhone 13 256GB. Assuming I bought the iPhone 11 @ 256GB, it would be unnecessary because I will still upgrade to the iPhone 13 now (2 years contract cycle)

What you want to check out? The form factor is exactly like 12, with a little bit more thickness.

I am using 11, and was dead set on the 13 mini, until I went and try the 12 in store. The 12 is actually smaller than 11 (I never knew, cause I didn't check out the 12) and it was very nice to hold compared to 11.

If 12 & 13 was same size as 11, I will definitely go for the mini.

EDIT: I plan to pre-order online from telco, lol, I ain't going to queue or wait in line or rush like crazy people. It is a phone, they not giving me money.

I am in dilemma.. 13 or mini... really liking the size of the mini with the battery life.

Using ip11 now. And 13 mini has better battery life than ip11 from all the tests. The screen size doesn't bother me. But 13 got even better battery!

I bought the Mini because I cheapskate. Yay. Kena scam by Maxis their smallest plan is RM128 for the iPhones. Celcom is cheaper overall with their RM98 plan.

Not worth it IMO. Because of the CPU speed + the camera from 12 Pro Max.

The 12 Pro have LIDAR, and telephoto lens. Unless you need the tele lens. I don't. I can zoom in by walking nearer, can't zoom out when my back is already against a wall.

It’s a deeper shade of red. Closer to red wine under warm lighting. Tmr I’ll check it out under daylight.

I like it more than the 12 red.

I won’t say best. I came from 11. Takes a bit of getting used to. And iOS 15, feels like the Safari not very optimized for this screen size. A bit off.

But other apps are great.

These days just use "normal" RM20 SP from Ninjaz or those accessories shop... I got try RM5 one but it doesn't last long. The RM20 one last longer... scratch or crack I just change new one...

For people who is concerned about iPhone 13 mini’s small screen, when I hold my iPhone 11 I feel it’s not nice to hold. So wide, feels like holding a phablet. And not ergonomic.

No issues with the smaller screen just needs some getting used to.

Battery life:better than iPhone 11. For my usage style, still have plenty of battery life after being out the whole day. For 11, by end of day already 40%. Mini still 70%+
