this year ip13 abit underwhelming
*
Huh?

iPhone drop price and improve storage size, camera, battery, brighter screen, smaller notch, video mode. Which is improvement over 12 models already.

yes, not groundbreaking new techs but don't fix what ain't wrong?

Any news about RAM upgrade to 6GB?

What else do you want in a phone?

Hologram, teleportation, diamonds, charge your electric car, mining Bitcoin, JARVIS system like iron man?

usb -c?, faster charging?? higher refresh rate for lower end model? there are alot of things that they can do. but they choose not to
*
I agree with your points except higher refresh rate. It drains the phone battery and does not work on all apps and probably even in native phone apps

As an Apple fan, I am quite disappointed with the 13 announcement. Not a fault of Apple tho, I just find it very hard to justify RM 4K for another slab of glass.

I want to be excited by tech again, thus I will sit out the upgrade and switch to Z Flip 3 this year. At least the folding is a head turner.

I like the flip too but is Samsung UI better? Camera, battery, and video better?

My Samsung tablet a can't even run zoom without crashing, made the passcode icon smaller with sound and haptics enabled, can't check battery health

Samsung UI < iOS UI in terms of usability, although I have to say that iOS UI design has been stale for a couple of years now. I understand that Apple can't shake up the design like Android does without scaring away the boomers who depend on it. Cameras and battery definitely iPhone wins. Plus I have an MBP and an iPad so I won't entirely leave the Apple ecosystem.

Remember when the first iPhone came out and how the entire world was excited about multi touch? Same thing happened with iPhone 4 design, Touch ID, iPhone X going (almost) full screen. When was the last time you felt that excitement from an iPhone release?

That wow factor is long gone from iPhone. That need to be wowed again before I open my wallet is just a personal thing for me. Hoping that iPhone 14 at least changes its design (throwback to iPhone 4 also I won't mind), or pull off some miracle like under screen FaceID or a new UI design language.
*
Wow factor i get what you mean when I first play with iphone 3gs. I have been using best phone in the world at time of released, HTC incredible s, HTC one M7 last time.

The best camera phone is Asus or vivo now according to dxomark. But still i think the UI is lacking.

I just want a phone that works now. Apps that works with the phone. Not hang, lag, crashed, need to debug, check forums for fixes, transfer messages, soft reset and keep relogin to apps

I can’t see Apple coming up with a flip or fold form factor till they think they can absolutely nail it, so I doubt you’ll see anything groundbreaking from Apple in the foreseeable future. The Z flip and fold are interesting phones no doubt, but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Do enjoy and share your review on the Flip!
*
Yes, pls share flip review. Cause you can't even trust YouTuber nowadays or their script missing out basic usage functions like making calls, drop calls, clear or not.

Rumored that iphone 13 base models have 4GB RAM same as ip12.

If that's the case, i may go for ip12 model instead of ip13 mini

"lag". I find that this word is subjective to every person. 1 seconds slow might consider as lag to some, while some said it's not lag.

To me, the 3rd year onwards it lags, as in it takes slightly longer to open apps. Scrolling may still be smooth. But launching apps and in app loading takes longer. If u don't understand what mean, go to any demo unit, compare a 3 or 4 older generation iPhone with the latest iPhone and do a speed launching test. Guaranteed u will see the difference.

btw, u mentioned shopee, if u are a heavy shopee user who always collect voucher, u will know that collecting voucher needs to be very very very fast. besides having a fast finger, ur phone needs to respond very fast. and this is where u cannot afford any lag.
*
I checked YouTube speed test for older phone like XS and XR. Working fine though. Won't notice slow app loading unless put iPhone 12 side by side

If iPhone CPU also slow after 3 years, what does that make android phone? Peasant phone? Haha

that's what i said, put side by side and u will see the difference. don't bring android into the picture.

It's like 0.5 second difference. Anyway, it's up to different user. For me is practicality.

Try using mid range android phone or high end android 3 years old. These users are taking a longer time just by scanning mysejahtera app

Agreed on the point that Apple plays it safe with innovation. Its no secret that they let other manufacturers beta test certain features, then Apple will take those features to the mainstream.

I actually went from iPhone X during launch > iPhone 11 > iPhone 7 plus > iPhone 7. I'm just bored of the candy bar design/glass slab design, that's all.

I've already got my Z Flip3 and enjoying it so far. Ngl I do miss iMessage and certain iOS apps/functionality, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for something entirely new.

To all who pre-ordered the iPhone 13/13 Pro, enjoy your new devices this Friday!

How's the battery life of z flip 3 for you? I like flip phones but:

No charger in the box
Average battery life
More expensive than iPhone 13
Can't get those Customised strap like in Korea
Camera not better compared to other flagships
Slower charging

My mum is still using her iPhone 5S - works fine and Apple still releases security updates for it from time to time. Opening apps is super slow now -2 to 3 seconds or even longer, but for my mum it serves her basic needs of making and receiving calls, WhatsApp messaging and occasionally watching YouTube videos. That’s a 2012 phone. The Android flagship equivalent is a Galaxy S3. That’s not even a peasant phone now. It’s a paperweight. biggrin.gif
Agree, I think those waiting for another “wow” moment from Apple for future iPhone launches will be greatly disappointed. It’s only gonna be incremental upgrades from here on. But their mantra remains the same - “it just works”. Whether it works for one or not depends on the individual.

UWB for airtags are still industry best. Apple watch although I don't know much , should be good too

Widgets are better in iOS. Video recording good quality.

Thanks for sharing about older iPhone & android models experience.
