Pictures don't look as nice as in person (pictures just doesn't do justice for this special paint)

It's very hard to see these Colorful flakes from pictures alone (or my photography/phone camera potato)

That's why the unique shades of black and purple outside its supposedly gray
Driver review/first impressions, with preface/previous vehicles ownership or experience as comparison being Honda HRV ownership, test drive of FC Civic TC/TCP, Proton Persona (sis's car).
The easiest way to sum it for the TLDR folks: RM125K is a LOT of car for this new Civic FE.I can dare say it's the best spec/best value for money among our Malaysian C segment sedan market.
I prefer the fabric seats over the show room (during launch) RS Spec that's a combi. Probably not so much on V spec full leather.
On combi leather seat comparison, persona seating position is taller, but thicker /plusher bolsters (that's the leather part). The FE seats are more "semi bucket"like especially if you put them at the lowest position and overall it's a much better seating experience amongst all the mentioned cars. It also helps that I'm about 179cm and rather big sized so the seats catering for a global platform is very accommodating.
I didn't have the issue of unreachable arm rests at all, both sides are very leveled and the full tilt & telescopic steering helps a ton on tailoring me to my best driving position. (Look up guides on this)
Head room is crazy tall probably meant to cater to taller westerners.
A compromise on my lowest seating position while lifting the steering highest, is the fuel gauge and push start button is entirely obscured.
I need to purposely sit up to look at the fuel gauge, and truth be told I spent a good few minutes sweating like crazy looking for the push start button

Thank God for Llumar TCP4 tints, zero feel under 34-36c hot afternoon sun, but still sweat like pig cuz enclosed in car without any circulation and the car was parked under hot sun baked for hours.
Side windscreens being darker no need to test, just tested FWS and my hands doesn't feel the scorching sun at all. Opened window and omg pain sun burning hands lol
Windows fully can open as the car was already tinted completed for 2 days and the tints fully dried/cured with zero defects so far.
Visibility of the car is really good.
Huge shout-out to the side mirrors being well designed (not necessarily bigger!) Is able to see both further way and blind spots assuming if you're seated properly while at the same time having well adjustable side mirrors.
The rubberized aircon vents on/off and the joysticks exhibiting some "new assembly" break in clicks sounds aren't very confidence inspiring on long term reliability/durability, but only time will tell and hopefully prove me wrong.
Android Auto was God send.
It's also integrated to the instruments.
- no Android Auto wireless.
- no turn by turn navigation on the instruments
- music is fully displayed on the instrument cluster screen, however it doesn't support Japanese text. It'll only show dashes ------ lol!
- ok Google is slow, funnily, slower than "hi Proton" that said, ok Google is the full Google assistance while Proton is only limited to few car commands.
- the phone communications are clear, probably from the additional microphones and stuff at the center map light location.
- you can't use your phone when Android Auto is active. I guess intended so you don't play phone while driving.
Head unit
- HU position is just nice, no need to buy an additional magnetic mount like I have on my current car and previous HRV
- HU screen is clear, touch experience is good. However under very bright sun, sometimes it can be a bit washed out.
- the reverse camera resolution is just rubbish lol. My aftermarket bought at 2017 for like 200 bucks or something beats it out if the water. It's so bad, Proton persona camera is better lol
- saving grace, it has steering angular sensors guidelines. Same as Proton persona.
- audio is OK. improvement over HRV. But without tweeters, there's only so much it can do. I've done a bit of tweaks to make the best out of it. Sacrificing a bit of bass for some clarity.
- steering controls and loads of buttons can be confusing at first. They even consolidated some buttons, or just outright omit them as you can just use the touch screen lol
- aircon controls are a good touch of physical and tactile buttons and knobs, while it has mirrored display over the head unit.
Handling is ok.
- the Continentals are quite good on NVH which compliments the overall car much improved NVH
- The rear trails the front surprisingly nicely despite the really heavy front. It's not winning any awards any time soon on handling, but it sure is a superb compromise trading for much plushier ride.
Do remember again this being a global car, and evidently despite hard to believe, there's many other places with worse road conditions than Malaysia roads.
- The brakes at doesn't annoy me to no end on typical Honda brakes where it bites hard initially and later on braking power is taper off/digress into nothing further which is alarming if you do get into these emergency situation.
ride is super plush!
- HUGE improvement over the HRV with or without good working condition absorbers.
- definitely affected by this globalized platform as again, there's places with worse condition roads.
The CVT rubber banding is vastly improve over FC and HRV. Its adaptation logics and learning has been rather pleasant!
It still won't be performing as hard as Proton persona clutch based CVT, however it's a huge and well trade off when it comes to the transmission overall smoothness and improved NVH.
heck, there's a subtle logic built in guy virtual stepped shifts if you're flooring it in S Position of the gear lever. Which I believe the next item will be working hand in hand to compensate any potential shortcoming from the CVT.
Only one mention comparing against my sports coupe - power. Turbo is turbo and paired with a much better revised CVT, power is effortless and comes way too easily. Totally don't have to work for it rowing through the gears while waiting to go through the RPMs of a NA car.
The CVT is also very willingly allowing you to red line the car compared to the previous HRV where getting past 5k RPM is very damn hard even on S position of the CVT. The FE Civic can already hit around 6 on just D.
S is much more smoother and more than willing to hold lower ratios or provide my good engine braking if I don't want to have the car dive in too much from the brakes and at the same time, as with most sporting drive, sitting at a lower gear means I'm more than ready to power out a corner punishing the crappy continental tires.
Honda sensing is really nice
For folks having long distance and known to doze off, the lane watch assist actually vibrates your steering wheel while giving off very visible broadcasts telling you to F up less.
Ok that's it for now. If you've read this far, thank you and hopefully you enjoy this review.
500% better on a car reviewer than those YouTubers video.
