From my understanding, if you don't buy insurance from Honda, the rebates are slightly less. They also don't like buyers like me who buy without loan. They get kickbacks from insurance and about rm600 from finance companies for loan. For my red E I managed to get 1.5k off. Some small town dealers even wanted to add on a rm600 "handling fee" for cash buyer.

My agent called back just now, his staff wrongly use the 0.5% to do calculation so it is no relevant to area. And yes, some time the road i use will hit by flash flood when go home. So better insure for it

Actually I just checked on the internet - there seems to be 2 types of special perils.
1) Special Perils
- 0.2% of sum insured
- In the case of RS - RM288
- In case of total loss / cleaning / repairs due to special perils, can be up to full value of sum insured (RM144k)

2) Limited Special Perils
- 0.5% x 25% of sum insured
- In the case of RS - RM180
- In case of total loss / cleaning / repairs due to special perils, will only cover up to 25% of sum insured (RM36k)

I checked with image captured by my SA, my premium for special perils was RM288 (MSIG)

Below is the wind noise recording from the A-pillar. Granted i am driving around 115km/h, and the recording phone mic was directly at the spot where i suspect the wind noise originated from.
So the noise is extra loud due to the combination of extra speed and mic directly at noise source.

But you be the judge. I saw in facebook civic group, some ppl are complaining this as well.

So potential buyer, please be aware.

Trapo - my honest review. I bought Trapo for the first time for Civic FE - previously used a branded custom professionally cut & measured coil mat (Yuuma). Not sure Dodo is the same as Trapo, but judging from the pictures and review, they are both quite similar.

Trapo Pros:
1. Damn easy to clean
2. Never slides around (Trapo Hex)
3. Very light!
4. Customer support is above average with fast reply

Trapo Cons:
1. Damn easy to see dirt
2. Damn slippery when wet - rainy season now, very apparent
3. Quite costly for a mat - but not as expensive as 3D mat laa...

One thing though, if you are an early bird in buying the Trapo mat, their current design is different especially for the driver side mat. Initially the mat it didn't cover the accelerator pedal, but now it does. I had to contact customer support to replace it as it was a single major issue for me.

Conclusion: Will I buy them again? Maybe... But even if I do buy them, I will avoid buying them early in their production cycle for new cars to avoid the problem I had above.

Guys what's the best way to check a secondhand car condition and make sure it's accident and flood free? My brother is thinking of buying a 2021 tcp from a used car dealer. Do people like carsome do an inspection on site. Used car dealer will never agree to taking it to carsome. And look at the car price! Higher than a new E!

Since many forumer here reported of rattling sound. When i'm alone, i always drive my car without radio on, so i can catch any rattling sound and report it on my 10k maintenance.
And the area i stayed and travelled often, is "not for human to stay" area. the road is full of pot holes especially after the recent K.Valley flood.
And now the car is around 6k on the odometer.

So i would say my car is fairly "break-in"

But I still cant catch a single rattling sound.

The only sound i could identified that is close to rattling sound, is when i go over huge speed bumps, there is a single creek sound as tho the dashboard plastic was flexing. But even that, it does not happen often. I generally think the dashboard flexing sound over huge speed bump an acceptable sound. since we cant stop the car chassis from flexing.

I wonder all these quality issue like rattling sound occurred on cars that honda recently rushed out from factory to meet june SST?

My car was collected on mid of Feb 2022, and manufactured date was Dec 2021. Its the 480th civic FE honda malaysia produced.

Best way is to:
1. Book appointment at least 1 month in advance - never had to come due to mileage though, always been due to 6 months, so you may need to estimate if it's due to mileage.
2. Book the earliest slot available at the SC - In my case at Yong Ming Honda JB was 7:30am
3. Come on time

Usually my car would be the first to enter the service bay when they start servicing cars around 7:45am-8am. If normal servicing, I would be out by 9:00am-9:30am at the latest

Foooh, crazy. Must be because got lots of leftover cars from day before not finished servicing due to the sheer number of cars in KV. Never had problems with my slot in the early morning in JB, but can see not many people choose the early morning slot. In fact, can usually see people book early slot, but didn't come on time, and people gamble to walk in got bumped ahead of queue. Then the people with appointment come and complain coz already made appointment but didn't get served according to their booked time

no wonder my colleagues need to apply leave when they service their honda.....

If anybody is thinking of installing engine cover, do get an original Type-R cover, and don’t buy just any cheapo type. If it melts or catches on fire, it’s your engine…

The guy admit buy cheapo engine cover from Shopee. Not proper original Honda Type R cover. So both material & engine heat causing the "N" of the Honda wording to start melting edy. Luckily the cheapo cover did not catch fire, later complaint & post on FB Honda FE engine QC terrible coz caught fire

will changing the rim size void warranty?

Technically speaking, changing rim size would require the change in the ECU accordingly. Else your odometer would not reflect the correct mileage driven since, bigger wheel = longer distance per rotation.

And since changing larger wheel affect below.
So. To answer your question, if big item fail and you claim warranty, Honda surely can use above reason so void your warranty if they don't want to foot the bill.
