Wait.....it suddenly pop up to me....
Does RS have front camera? I cialat it does not have 360 camera and blind spot monitors that even my previous gen Vios has, don't say it also skimp out on front camera?

QUOTE(ForgotPassword @ Jul 17 2023, 07:39 PM) #$@!% Now I choose my choice highest price sedan vs her SUV options...why no blind spot monitor, never mind, we got lane watch, can see car coming on left. What about right, err.....the right side mirror very nice big view... But she say this sedan very low seat, car so big (she drives B segment old City and she small size), I say got reverse camera, assume go front camera, no need 360...front back parking no problem. Now, this car very low ground clearance, (just found out its 126mm, lower than 5 inches, worst than my expected low of 5.2"), I cannot use excuse can run over front parking brick, bumper wait koyak. How.....I really run out of explanation how a 150K car does not even have a basic front parking camera that are common nowadays. |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Jul 17 2023, 08:24 PM) Wait for facelift version later. Last time only Accord 2.4 getting Lanewatch now all model. The BSM and 360 camera are there for Honda car other regions so we will get it eventually. Even HRV has option of extra 3K plus to install 360 now. How come Civic still don't have. |

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Jul 18 2023, 02:51 PM) Cameras are really extras, men had survived driving cars without them all these years and it's been fine. Men can also survive without sex...but having them enhanced the experience and fulfilment of life....Those without them, missed a lot...hahaha.Not to mention I find it a little distracting than helping me while driving a car. I rather depend on my senses and good driving skill than the camera all the time. Plus you are able to respond faster than watching the camera and act thereafter. Same with the camera.... The camera enhanced view and parking experience. There are many times, even myself almost scratch the bottom of the bumper against pavement bricks. While we can estimate, the camera ensure clearance of bottom barrier and accuracy of distance. My almost 80 years old mom rely on the vios parking camera to accurately judge the distance and avoid scratching the bumper. Parking sensors are the primary assistance, the camera enhanced accuracy and parking experience. We can live without the camera but its is a very useful parking tools. Most of my cars are aged 12 to 17 years old. So not even front parking sensor...and you can see the scratched at bottom of bumpers for all of them. The new Vios also got....coz my mom accidental switch off the sensors (easily press at right hand side) and reverse expecting the sensor to beep.... QUOTE(alexlim_88 @ Jul 19 2023, 05:43 PM) So we’re both in the waiting line ah? Haha… Actually I got pre-booking in 3 cars, incoming new CRV (don't know what my SA means can book in advance when there is no spec and pricing, just hantam only then see if pricing within 180k range or not, not sure he lied or not I believe you already have a bunch of to-do list. Please share if you don’t mind. 😆 Based on stop production due to WRV, then FL City launch likely in August, then CRV...not sure how Civic eHev going to be available. If CRV hit budget limit due to expected drastic pricing increase for the new model, then drop to eHev and Silver RS whichever comes first. eHev, full specs driving satisfaction vs more budget friendly RS...give and take, My daughter that day just talk to me...how come I planned to buy City then increase to sub-compact SUV (coz I got 3 small City size sedan liao at home), tak ngam, then increase again to Civic RS (coz my budget dream sedan)....then within a month I increase to CRV (coz my flood phobia that that almost reach 7" in the rare flooding in Klang, FE..only abt 5"ground clearance) then now eHev. Budget keeps increasing and she's concerned...why....coz she wants to study master..hahaha takut I no money help pay for her tuition fees. I can only As for my to do list... 1. I bought my preferred car number liao via JPJ bidding (RM310) liao....regret a bit coz buy too early (BRN range), last time heng heng buy (JPJ winning bid can last for 12 months anyway). 2. I planned to include foot light, honda side steps and boot tray in the original purchase (honda items, so no void fuse warranty). 3. Will order Dodo Mat once confirmed which car I buy (my Civic friend used and recommended vs other premium exposed mat). 4. After get car, will likely go premium on Tint. Since already spend so much, I'll plan to get VKool tint (all my cars VKool Elite) with spec VKool Elite (FWS), VK50 (Front Side), VK30 (RWS and Rear Side). That will cost abt 4850 for Civic and 5350 for CRV based on VKool HQ quote recently. Yes, very exorbitant pricing, so might go back to Honda Tint or maybe Raytech. My cars 12 to 17 years, original VKool Elite, still worked well in heat resistance tho, so for long term, VKool proven long term heat and UV resistance still very tempting. Wait see final budget. 5. Do ceramic coating at my fav car center (all my cars coat there). This is a must for me coz all my old cars still look new and shiny due to yearly coating. 6. Then after tint are full cured properly, can arrange go back do the original Honda Dashcam (coz parking mode, direct to fuse power, no void warranty). Quazacolt liked this post

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jul 20 2023, 09:45 AM) Bro, no matter how we love the track and "corners are for fast drivers, straights are for fast cars" cliches.... many of us do not hit the track nor have the $ to replace tyres and brakes for track use. Ya, one of the key reason why I reconsider and thinking to get Civic eHev (if no get CRV, if can afford, I would go for CRV eHev but I think it will be priced out from budget) coz EV is really the future but in reality, our country EV charging infrastructure really not ready yet. It will takes a while to do that. By that time, I got no money to buy car liao...So EV is really out of my budget. I have range anxiety and don't want to wait to charge car everyday.EV is the future, regardless how we romanticize the petrol engine - ![]() Model 3 comparison For performance actually the best is hybrid of both (but this makes the device expensive) while, to industrialize, a good way is co-existence. If EV becomes more widespread like in UK, China, there will still be many limitations for EV vs Hybrid. If I'm not wrong, in UK they have more charging spots than petrol station but it will only takes only a few minutes to fill up a full tank vs at least half an hour for a level 3 charging station. So having a full charge for an EV, the same spot in petrol station can refill at least more than 6 cars. So even having more charging station vs petrol station does not translate to convenience of charging. I'm even tempted by the cheaper EV SUV like Cherry Omada and the more expensive ones like the BYD but concerned about support and servicing (if kaput, got parts or not, got sifu or not, will the manufacturer abandon the countries if things don't go well, looking at you Cherry). However Honda eHev seems to raise a bit of concern on maintenance coz usage of clutches and more mechanical parts means more future parts wear, maintenance, fluid change, etc. Taht means eHev requires servicing on its eHev parts? Toyota hybrid system seems to require less part thus less maintenance, future parts wear. EV like Tesla seems to be more like fire and forget, unless parts spoil, if not require little maintenance. That is my current understanding. oh...btw, last time all Honda price increase. Civic eHev no increase....Turned out today, I saw the price increase to 167900 liao...cannot escape This post has been edited by Cavino: Jul 20 2023, 11:46 AM Quazacolt liked this post

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jul 20 2023, 01:01 PM) Its a problem for early adopters of all new technology...pay the price of inconvenience for the enjoyment of the novelty. Yes, I'm undecided. I like Civic from all aspect (I'm a 52 years old sedan guy) except for the low ground clearance and harder seat. If I can decide for my ownself, it will not be undecided coz I'll take either RS or eHev without a doubt. I enjoyed driving thus Civic is the one but I'm not the only one using the car, my wife and family has the priority as well. For flood phobia, convenience (Civic low gc means nature trip with rocky road is absolutely no go and her sake (worked in frequent pothole filled roads in Pork Klang), I have gave in to SUV earlier. But for the car in a size of a Civic, there is only 1 option for Hybrid. Whereas for SUV, you have plenty of options and can dip into Toyota land, which is a great proposition (I've recommended the Cross hybrid over and over). Anyway it sounds like you are undecided...if you already booked a civic but still having thoughts about hybrid / EV / Chery BYD Toyota / abcxyzomg. Hope you find out what you actually want.... Proton SA friend say, long term, take Honda or Toyota, so gave up on X50 and X70 (my original SUV choice) but the SC service a lot of unresolved complaint.... So have tried HRV and Cross earlier. Rear seat comfortability is also a priority as this is going to be my final family car that I also can used for daily KL and Klang commute. HRV dealbreaker is the rear seat inclination. Just a couple of minutes of seating, can feel the ache on my waist and the middle seat cannot be used at all. It is a 100% 2 seater behind making it an absolute no. Cross looks great and I'm ok with it (looking at GRS coz got improved suspension), drive is stable and uneventful. Hate the footbrake but toyota has everything, bsm, cameras. Feel a bit underpower (good acceleration...but somehow...I don't know how to put it, there is no feel there) but that is for GRS, not Hybrid. However my wife and daughter don't like the rear seating feel (although spacious) and bounciness (my daughter say she hates it and feel a bit dizzy) and hated the boring dash, gear position. So although I'm reluctantly ok with it, my family reject thus I don't look at the hybrid drive (also initially I compared the hybrid motor torque with my fav civic....even petrol variant trumped in mati mati...unfair comparison but I bias to Civic, so everything compare to Civic...haha..) CX5 is too old liao, cannot tahan the 4.5" infotainment size and old style meter cluster. New FL pending next year. Cannot wait. Subaru XV and CX30 a bit small especially at rear seating space. So comes back to my bias primary choice, Civic RS. Test drive with family and everything is fine with my family on this except my wife does keep hinting seats a bit low and too firm, My concern is the low ground clearance at less than 5" aka flood risk higher. Due to these concern and I know my wife actually gave in to Civic coz she knows I'm into it even before SUV view earlier but being a great loving husband, I know she prefers SUV...so I'm going to wait and give new CRV SUV a final try. Toyota does not have any SUV at this price range. Not looking at others as I prioritize on longer term SC / car reliability and parts availability. In Malaysia, I'm bias towards toyota and Honda for long term reliability, parts availability and technical support. The new CRV looks great (my family loves the new exterior looks and dislike the the current one), beautiful Civic dashboard and interior looks. Even now I still compare with Civic, CRV still underpowered compare to it coz the size and weight of SUV yet similar torque...no fight. Have to give and take. Problem now is the price as we know new CRV is a bigger car and the pricing seem to increase drastically for the new model. If Malaysia price eHev similar to HRV price difference between petrol and hybrid variant (6K difference only), then if got 2WD eHev variant, maybe can take but if priced like Civic eHev difference.. Then I will get 2WD if got full spec with right pricing but if priced too high, I will falls back to original Civic eHev or RS (to my wife, I already tried my best to get a suitable SUV, so no guilt anymore for taking Civic for myself). QUOTE(alexlim_88 @ Jul 21 2023, 01:48 AM) Wah booked 3 cars, best father in the world 👍👌. Must be a hardcore Honda fan too. I’m studying master in UM too!!😂 but half work half study sibeh tired… Err..I booked 3 cars coz I cannot decide what I want lar....not buying all 3 cars. If got so much money to buy all 3 honda at 1 go.....I won't be buying honda liao (haha, I'm civic fan but not die hard, got money will fly somewhere else liao).Oh and I also booked silver RS! 😆 booked at July.. that would be my first c-seg car. Will still keep 16-years City too! Too smooth and nice to drive. 1. Tint will use Llumar 2. PPF whole wrap and coating SCUDO 3. Also stock footlight, side light and dashcam 😆 4. After market bodykit 5. Doors and floor sound proofing (need to clarify with SA will void warranty or not) 6. Enzo mat 7. Accessories here and there from Taobao. That’s all. I also looking at enzo mat but my friend that uses dodomat recommend, at least the dirt are hidden, enzo and other premium mat exposed them, eyesore. Do we really need those anti-bac stuff material on car mat, IMO, its a gimmick. IMO, not sure for PPF becoz it will turned yellowish sooner or later. With thousands spend on PPF and need to replace in a few years, may as well spend the PPF high pricing on repainting the paint again with thicker paint and better sealant when you stone chips accumulate to be an eyesore. Cheapo PPF, wait when remove, your paint also tear off.. When got minor knock, when mudguard fellow knock it back, the PPF also has to be replace, not cheap. QUOTE(realityyffr @ Jul 21 2023, 09:41 AM) try to get the civic ehev, owned it for 7 months now, lots of fun with the instant torque vs the turbo and the quiteness of the cabin at low speed. now I know why EV owners become fanboys haha. next car will definitely be EV Civic eHev has the best spec, the "perfect" version of Civic, I know that. But I likely will be prioritizing on CRV first....both my wife and daughter likes the new CRV interior and exterior a lot. Hint hint.... My daughter after considering her future study fee and also have flood phobia (our house flooded during the rare Klang Valley flooding).....suggest, if no buy CRV, then buy City and skip Civic. Can buy 2 City for a CRV. Its true tho... If I don't get CRV, I will likely goes for Civic eHev. Unfortunately it does not a have my fav Silver colour. Have to choose either White or Meteroid Gray (I likely for for bright colour). Is Civic white paint thicker than gray, since we have to add another RM600 for it? There is a concern tho for eHev future maintenance and cost. Unlike Toyota matured hybrid system that has minimal parts that can wear and tear, eHev uses lots of moving parts that can wear out as part of hybrid system. Clutches, traction motors, twin motors, etc definitely will require maintenance and expensive parts replacement in the future. Estimated life about 10 years only, then have to replace the wear and tear parts. Likely to be very expensive. While petrol variant maintenance can be easily estimated. |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 21 2023, 11:38 AM) if my kid suggest me that, i will suggest him to go work for their study fee I guess you don't have daughter yet....for guys, the daughter is usually their weak spot.(but i know he won't seeing how he's so fond of my toys LOL) lower down your expectation to 5 years so less disappointment if shit were to happen. basically, so long you saved up some cash after 5 years warranty over, no worries lo. either change car or just replace/repair wear and tear part and parcel of car ownership I can't help but spoiled her, my weak spot. I will only cover the tuition fee if she goes Master. Already covered everything for current post grad degree. She has to cover for own living expenses if she decides to go further. For my other much younger son, I will suggest he go work for his study...hahaha.. Normally I can estimate wear and tear for ICE vehicle. Taken care of all my household vehicles, so have lots of experience for that. However toward hybrid parts, I have no idea how much to expect. 5K, 10K, 20K....totally blank. Also unlike ICE engine where we can find mechanic outside, with hybrid, we have to go back to expensive SC to do maintenance. That is my reluctance of going hybrid earlier although the current iMMD noticeable improve torque performance with overall improvement on driving experience attracted my attention. Compare to Toyota Hybrid System, efficient wise, I think they are still a step behind but driving experience wise, iMMD seems to take the lead for now. |

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jul 21 2023, 01:26 PM) Get your priorities straight lo... 1. We can cover her Master tuition fee lar but I told her that if she study locally, I can cover everything but if she wants to go oversea for Master, living expenses she has to figure out. We can't just sponsor her for everything without her making an effort for it. So she started to try save OUR money for that... 1. Ensure she has enough funding - if not wait till she completes her study needs or make it clear how much she need first. 2. Flooding - betul ke, another 10cm can settle ALL your worries? In my memory heavy flood-all cars are gone. If not just buy flood insurance, however expensive. 3. A City also can buy 2 Axia, and an Axia can buy 2 used Saga. so the question is not relevant. 4. Why go for eHEV when it is only barely cheaper than the 180k+ CRV? Is 20k really that much saving that makes a difference? Perhaps saving 40-50k can buy a degree I suppose. 4.1 if you want to save, isn't a Civic E at 132k going to guarantee you solve all problems (132k for car, 50k for degree) rather than 165k for car, etc etc. You only suffer no leather seats, smaller display, smaller sport rims. 5. Dont make financial decisions where you only left with underwear afterwards. 2. My house flooded during that time for first time in our life. It leaves a mark in our heart. The flood water reached all cars side step, Civic FD about 6.7"ground clearance. Civic FE with only 5" do concern us if it ever happen again at home. It is deep in heart fear that marked us. That is why family keep pushing for SUV, less worry. Still I don't care liao for something that might not happen again, I will go Civic if CRV price and spec not ngam. Before the house flooding case, any car with low ground clearance for us is can cross the high bump or not...Haiz. 3. That is becoz we initially plan for City.....then sub-compact SUV, Civic, compact SUV. She calculate, that double the original budget. Why she calculate now, coz she worked as 3 months intern for a company (uni requirement) without pay, she ran out of budget even with allowance we give her. Now she understand how hard to earn money....so start budgeting for us pulak...Quite funny for someone (her) who earlier keep pushing say don't buy city and keep pushing to buy bigger cars like Civic and SUV without looking at financial aspect. A definite improvement. 4. I am not trying to save cost, my daughter is due to recent above shock experience. A master oversea will cost about 200K a year nowadays. If calculate CRV budget, also cannot cover that. Buying a vehicle, we keep separate budget one, there is a study fund as well although this car budget now pushing the limit. I prefer Civic, my wife and family prefer SUV, thus try to upgrade to mid size CRV for family sake. 170K eHev is the "perfect" Civic, my OWN preference. Admittedly everyone know Civic eHEV has encroached into SUV price range, that the question posed by every reviewers too. Thus if we want a "perfect" family sedan now, thats the one, if we can accept SUV pricing at that. 5. No worries lar. I will leave a few sets of clothes with spare underwear ready. |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 21 2023, 02:28 PM) I just want to add - the smaller 16" is way better than the heavier 17/18 inchers! That is my exact stance before my daughter grows up..So Thicc and Chonky rubber soaking up any road irregularities! (Lol fuck SUV, basically.) No i don't have a daughter and even if i do get one, I'll stay firm on my stances and decisions. If i let fear and weaknesses dictate my life I'd be long dead not making this post replying to you bro! If you're so confident in ICE vehicle, then get that classic turbo lo No need bother EHEV. that's my take. Again ya, it's not a performance hybrid, nor its a performance EV It's a glorified EV with an attached range extender. Or just simply, a hybrid that can run on a weak (but fuel efficient!) Atkinson cycle 2.0 NA. ultimately yes, i echo lee82gx - get your priorities straight and you'll automatically get your answer. Wait till you have one cute one, then you see if you can say that again. Got confident in ICE but would like to try new stuff mah, still considering the pros and cons thus the 3 bookings, can revert to either one when decided. I think I gave wrong impression of using study money to buy car.... We have a separate budget for that. This car budget hitting limit but thats about it....just the CAR budget limit that we can still afford within our capabilities. Why the heck do you think I still driving a 17 years old car. Fund the budget until you can afford them. We do keep study fund separately and you have to start when they are born, unless you rich, no need budget, anytime can send them oversea with one eye close. Luckily my daughter don't want study med, that one, I really got no budget. Why I feel I like discussing my life story here... I as an old man with too much time now, like to ngam here a bit, ask opinion here a bit, then decide, then ask the same opinion again and decide and ask again...COZ the car booked still got long time before available. What else to do but to search for more option, dig more dirt...push budget limit.. Now I suddenly have a feeling....I might just revert back to FL City...arghhh... QUOTE(alexlim_88 @ Jul 31 2023, 06:28 PM) Recently I just looked at eHEV version. I have the budget for it. But I initially go for 1.5T and have already booked it. What are cons of having eHEV ver? Should I worry about the resell value and harder to sell because of the local trend? Thank you. Cons is the high price lar, hitting SUV pricing. ------------ Updated: Easy: Just estimate my daily fuel consumption + desire of extra features + price comparison. k thx bye Yes, the resale value of hybrid definitely will dropped larger than ICE Civic especially after using for longer time. So if you buy Civic eHev, you better don't think too much about resale value. If you worry about resale value, then go for ICE Civic. For me, it will be likely used for lifetime for the car, so I don't think about resale value for eHev but technically for noticeable improved features of the "perfect" version of Civic FE. Then its worth it. If keep thinking of RV, future maintenance (battery change, maybe after 8-15 years, inverter price, etc), then no need change to eHev, coz the extra cost in future will definitely come in. Unlike ICE civic, have to go back to SC to service after warranty is over. This is also the only Honda eHev you still get a spare tyre. While I don't read up too much on it, Civic eHev battery very small only compared to BEV car. So I think even in full City drive, the engine might have to charge the battery constantly, so while there will definitely be good saving for FC, don't have too high hope for it especially if you run constantly on highway as well. I won't even consider FC saving to contra against the higher price, those FC savings will be more like a bonus, the higher price of eHEV for me is more towards the increased torque, smoother drive, improve stiffer handling (lowered point of gravity), better NVH, 10"TFT, dual zone air-cond, etc. This post has been edited by Cavino: Aug 1 2023, 03:12 PM |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Aug 1 2023, 03:39 PM) No bro. I follow many video reviewers say wan. I not technical. 0.1m more turning radius compared to ICE RS, 0.4m if you compared to the e spec. That's just shit when it comes to handling bro lol 1445 kg doesn't help either on the handling department. Almost a Chonky BMW conti car weight, but half its power, and definitely far less handling capabilities. Comparatively, ICE RS Civic is 1362kg E spec is at an awesome 1338kg Again ya, the engine is basically a range extender. It's only 140 ponies, on crank, for a 2.0. Go compare to the 1.5 liter turbo power, easily over 180 ponies. Because it's on Atkinson cycle. Is not meant for power. Also, why you think the ehev got stiffer suspensions and lower point (center) of gravity? I'm intrigued to hear from you first before providing further info <a href='https://<link removed>/2022/11/15/2022-honda-civic-ehev-rs-hybrid-now-in-malaysia-184-ps-315-nm-motor-new-2-0l-di-engine-rm166500/' target='_blank'>https://<link removed>/2022/11/15/2022-honda-c...ngine-rm166500/</a> The 10mm lower center of gravity comes from this article. Aiya link removed... It's a Paul tan 15th Nov article. Say the company aka Honda mentioned that although the ground clearance is 2mm higher than rs but have 10mm lower centre of gravity. I'm been asking how also.. Not this article mentioned abt this only. Saw it repeatedly in other article and some video reviews. As for better handling, stiffer chassis or something, almost all test drive video reviewers says the same thing. I forgot for eg. an Indian chap testing in those Honda official track drives exceeded the 60km limit cornering set by Honda during the test drive mention definitely better handling. He and others are so impressed with the difference with rs. I can't remember talking about chassis or something but NOT talking abt suspension. But it also mention the change the weight distribution to 50/50 enhancing or at least not compromising aka not losing to other specs. I believe the ecvt aka no cvt with immediate torque definitely helps enhance this handling improvement aspect. When almost all real drive reviewers, pro and amateur were impressed and harped on the same exact point of noticeable better handling, stiffer or better cornering or something, acceleration, smoother ride, nvh when compared with rs, I tend to believe that although I have no knowledge on the know how. While by individual aspect, aka extra weight, turning radius, they might fall behind, I believe the the Honda engineer know how like redistribution of 50/50 weight to counter the increased weight, retuning, ecvt performance inclusion, etc as awhole package might provide a contrasting result to the cons you have mentioned. That's what I've been led to believe based on all that I've read and seen... Layman view. Come to think abt it, I'm like those uncle who follow ppl buy share coz everyone buy. Maybe I also the one jumping from top floor. This post has been edited by Cavino: Aug 1 2023, 09:54 PM Quazacolt liked this post

QUOTE(Madgeiser @ Aug 1 2023, 10:04 PM) I concur this notion. Buy something you enjoy driving, cause you are going to be stuck with it for quite a while. Unless you are the type who change car every 3 years... But this bugger car is almost 170k..i want to enjoy also but now crv black edition and 4wd full spec now discount until 160k. Also all reviewers also say the same thing... Perfect Civic version but only 1 issue... The price can buy compact suv liao. Only rich bro and sis might buy this.. 😁😁🙄 This post has been edited by Cavino: Aug 1 2023, 10:16 PM |
