just update my steering sticky.
10/5 appointment.
8am - drive check with 1st technician, he acknowledge sticky steering in 50s. end the test drive with him in less than 1km
12.30pm - was told the issue cannot claim. issue not severe, not able to record with a "noise catcher contraption". Bloody taobao Rm50 contraption if you ask me. I ask for evidence and video. It shows reading (not exceed threshold) on left side, right side no reading at all.

So I complained and ask for more clarification actually what did they detect, since my case if you rotate the steerign both side also can hear equally a soft kluk sound.
And finally, both sides steering jerky and sticky anyway.
One more on duty technician listen to me and tried to tell me, but eventually he found my right side was even worst than the left side, and max steering it was quite sticky.

So he ask me to come again after the first guy return from lunch.

3pm-
On my my 2nd check i completely dozed off while they took my car in, and after a short nap I think the actual technician came and showed me how to successfully qualify for the claim. Need to full turn steering. If the return is sticky / jerky with plenty of skipping - what the call as "kuk kuk kuk" on both sides then it can claim.
But he also remark that my one not so obvious on the 2nd drive from coming out of the workshop - I wasn't driving so I dont know.

In the end he said this is a steering rack failure, eventually will need to replace. He just said the invoice will state steering jerky, sound cannot capture by their magical device.

I went home, and from that day onwards until now - I swear my steering is back to 90% as new....

I believe they did some adjustment or tweak. I'm pretty sure. My arms and wrists have arthritis, I can sense the smallest changes in load and force, my hands even can have pain if the steering is too heavy....so we'll see.

Just to re-assure others who are thinking about this car -
Even with this pesky condition, my steering is not too bad, if I have to compare to my 2010 grand livina with EPS - I'd say that car also have some weird feelings related to the steering - It also like cannot maintain a steering angle with constant force, it feels like it is overshooting or undershooting with regards to the feedback force. If you know control systems this is the problem - Overshooting.

So bout to bite the bullet and get a Civic V spec. Anything I should know about last minutely? Discounts can go up to 8-10k now?

Dun worry bro, i had 3x change SR,so far no safety issues when driving.

So fast 2nd within a yr+? Memang fed up with HMSb

They changed whole set of just the kit?

What's everybody's plan after the 5yrs with the car? We can't be changing steering racks every year right?

Is it normal for my civic's aircond to only start getting cold few minutes after starting the car? Or should it be instant? Also feels it only gets cold when driving at higher speed

went to shop taobao saw alot of accessories for civic fe which is useful, esp the reverse auto tilt. Seller said is plug n play, but when asked he say only support passenger at right hand. But i dont think so, cos another accessories shop online said if wan both side can auto tilt just buy 2 set. Probably will get 1 and try in future.

Even the under engine cover can buy also much cheaper than honda. Mine need to be replaced, now thinking change back honda or use third party like orsen which is better protection.

Also, can help me see if this quotation for my next service which items are not necessary? My model is ehev

well change SC then. I know a City current gen owner already on 5th Rack but it starts to sound abnormal again after a while.

Hmm mine don't have any notifications, do you need to have claimed steering rack before?

don't have either, entered chasis number says not affected.

Hi all.

I have a dilemma for sure that some of you may experienced it before.

We intend to go for hybrid SUV most probably HRV, but because of underpowered engine wife said she now not so keen on it. Next obvious solution will be to get new hybrid CRV..but it is quit a big step up in term of price. almost 50k easily.

so she ask to check on Civic hybrid.

for context, she is driving Axia and I'm using Vios. So we are familiar with Sedan..she just dont want to feel underpowered as she is driving Axia, so one underpowered car enough dy she said. We are trading Vios to new Car. No kids just us for now.

So, any advice will be appreciated. I'm thinking maybe get Civic hybrid for 4-5 years before we may switch car again, either trade the Axia or Civic depending on the situation then.

Civic hybrid expected second hand value, any idea?

thinking to get civic rs, do u guys think civic rs seat is good for long run? i feel like the cushion is very thin and soft.

may i know if 3m crystalline tinted for whole car how much ya? and do u guys really follow jpj standard, thinking 70% for windscreen will it be too bright for civic such handsome car, and if 50% will it be risky everytime pass by roadblock? i am in dilemma, any suggestion?
