Michelin XM2+

Probably most expensive than other brands, but also the best and durable. For 15 inch size, the prices difference between different brands not that huge anyways

Can anyone suggest and give good reviews on best tyre size 195/55R15 below 200 per donut. Still confused what brand for my myvi gen3 stock rim..

Anyway TS you may like to have a look at Dunlop Sport J5 or the latest J6. Its cheaper than the big brands but still pretty decent overall performance, treadwear and comfort. I'm on my second set of J5 in fact flex.gif

The downside would be that this tire is a bit harder to find. The big shops near my place dont sell this tire so I ended up buying from online

Goodyear TripleMax 2
Toyo CR1
Conti UC6 (not sure if they have 195/55R16 though, I've seen 195/50R16)

those 3 should be well balanced.

I feel like just over budget by RM15 per tyre.
But the quality is by for the best, by a long long shot.

tested CC6, nano energy 3 and XM2.
XM2 wins hand down in every aspect. no competition.

don't know why the hate for XM2 among the forumers.

I think there is no other brands that is better than XM2 within the same category.
whether in comfort, grip, longevity...

I heard from some youtuber mentioning the profit margin for unbranded tyre is the highest
that's why shops like to recommend cheaper less branded tyres

So many cheaper option- yes
so many better option- no

as someone said, good no cheap, cheap no good. I had try various high end tyre and michelin ps4 is the best. its like a balance tyre, long mileage, grip and not too firm on sidewall.

not yet try Pirelli as price really out of my budget. but as of now my best tyre is michelin.

Huh?

Let's say for the price of XM2+ @ 195/55 R15, you can get the Pilot Sport 3 instead. The price is identical. So why are there no better option than XM2+...? confused.gif

And speaking of PS4, I'm using them as well, but we're talking about XM2+ here though.

I couldn't find RE004 for the price you've mentioned. Roughly price similar to PS3.

If it is as cheap as you said. Wanna give that a try in the next set of tires

Got many in mudah.

Ps4 not available in 15 unfortunately.
XM2 price is very close or almost equal to PS3 so PS3 is the better buy. XM2 is probably the most expensive in its class, got plenty of other cheaper ones with similar performance like from Goodyear. IMHO XM2 is overrated/overpriced.

pirellis are quite good... above average performance... but average threadwear... good all rounder doesn't excel in any particular areas...

My first michelin is michelin certis. That tyre damn long lasting. I got 100k km from that tyre. even beat goodyear duraplus which good year said can last 100k km. Rubber start harden at 70k km.

Other tyre such as gy gt3, excellence, nct5 all last around 60k km. Conti cc1, cc5, cc6 all crap last about 40k km only. And now use xm2+. Pay more over other brand. But this really last according to my last set of xm2.

If u ask me,does it overprice?. yes. michelin all line up, energy, primacy, sport all overprice. but I still bought it due to longevity.

sure

had xm2 long ago... quite long lasting... after 60% becomes noisy and harsh... but dunno about xm2+

had another michelin in the US also lasted 100k

had s1n2 about 80k now that can still go further... really like this tyre for its longevity, comfort n low noise

anyways on xm2+... my thoughts are simple... do I want 2 set of the same xm2+ for 200k mileage or try 3 sets of different tyres, for the same overall costs but with better overall performances over the 200k mileage, and far richer life experience

u got a point liao. but my personal preference, I hate visit tyre shop too frequently. last time got good deal, use falken ze912. but 1 year and half, gone already. price is good.quite cheap. same for other tyre too.

mostly I use for 4 and half years to 6 years.Yeah, can be quite boring if need to stick to 1 types of tyre. but it is peace of mind for me liao. personal preference lor.

1.5 yrs gone usually mean alignment kaput or wear too much due to set up for spirited driving... falken usually soft n comfortable, average lasting... even my uhp Pirelli lasted 2yrs that I set up for fast driving, could have lasted longer had I rotate n align more often but I wanna change it... lol

yeah a lot boils down to personal preference... how you drive, what car & tyre size, what you want from tyre, how long you wanna keep the car, etc... and there's nothing wrong just sticking to your proven tyre

one thing about Michelin's claim on p4 & xm2+ worn tyre can still have good braking... in their demo tyres they just shaved off the rubber... the rubber is still new n soft, hasn't been aged for 5+ yrs and driven for 80k... and they brought old used other brands for comparison... while it has deeper groves and probably is better, it's probably not as good as claimed... something to ponder, however I do recognize ppl just going for the long mileage claim...

Myvi original 15" tires should be 185/55/15 not 195..
Tires should be recommend base on the driver preference.. Not all model or spec. the best..

If want comfort, normal drive and plenty of money to spend for sure Michelin XM2+ is better
If want sport model Michelin got PS3

If in budget can consider Maxxis Victra, Hankook prime 3 or Yokohama ES32 for normal comfort drive.
I currently using Yokohama ES32, no issue for it and on 2nd set for my Kelisa as my expectation just want comfort, silent drive and within my budget.
