oh... i heard that once a dog tastes human food, he won't want doggy food anymore...  sweat.gif
then he didn't eat for how many days already? @__@
*
agree!..my mistake on that..
previously he has not eaten for 1 day and he vomitted out some kinda yellow glob ..kinda worried so i have no choice but to feed him his kibbles mix with some eggs and he actually gobble down his food in no time tongue.gif tongue.gif
so currently im feeding him that but i know its no good to everyday let him eat eggs...
tats y i was wondering if there is any brand out there which have superb taste and i can make him eat back his kibble without mixing the eggs.

somewhat agree with ya, both of my mutt pom were on acana and orijen 6 fish previously .. then i feed both of my mutt  table scrap/ kfc nugget / sausage / steamed deboned fish as treats ...

after they tasted those stuff.. my nightmare begin as they dont whack kibbles anymore lol ..

whenever i try to feed them with kibbles from acana/orijen 6fish/ orijen puppy / addiction kangaroo / addiction vension / addiction raw dehydrate / natural balance ultra..... they would just sniff, sneeze and walk away while showing you the "wadafak" face laugh.gif doh.gif

anyway both of them were on cooked pork, chicken , hard boiled egg, fishcake and rice diet mixed with fruits n carrot now ...  doh.gif

alamak... hahaha.. i think human food is bad for dogs lor.. u feed them kfc nugget??? XD

If you think about it, animals cannot make fires to cook food.... so feeding raw food is the best and natural food to me lah.... but if we compare cooked food and raw food to processed dog food.... well, it depends.

High end dogfood is good, examples like Innova Evo and Orijen and Sigma, just to name a few.... but it also depends on our dogs. Some may have allergic reactions. I have tried so many dogfood on my 4 dogs already and after comparing it to raw and cooked food, my dogs do much better on raw food. Summore not choosy. Fur grow nicer, even puppy grow better.

If we give a dog to choose between cooked meat, raw meat and kibbles... obviously dog would go for the raw meat and cooked meat. But doing homecooking needs research yah. Cannot simply give meat and rice. You have to research on what carbohydrate is good, how much protein and organs to give and how much fiber is good enough as well as calcium and vitamin intake and also fatty oils.... canned food is not good to be a staple coz the protein level in canned food is low and it is mainly jelly and water.... it's more like for taste only then to build up a dog's body.

Cooked food with seasonings is one of the worst foods to give our dogs. KFC has garlic powder and onion powder..... both of these are bad for our dogs.... most seasonings for meats have onion powder to give it flavour and onion is toxic to dogs. I know people say is treats and all.... but the amount of salt, oil and seasoning will just cause more damage later on. We cannot see their liver or heart unless we cut them up. So why risk them getting liver and heart disease by giving them bad treats? My dogs get dog treats like in biscuit form that are meant for dogs, cooked chicken pieces, raw fruits and veggies as well as yogurt and dehydrated meat.

If your dog isn't eating the Kibble there could be a number of reasons.

1) They could be teething, the kibble is too hard for them to chew without it being painful
- Solution soak the kibble in warm water for a couple of minutes before serving
2) The kibble you are giving them is not tasty
- Solution I suggest you try Artemis every dog I tried so far loved it.
3) They have had human food (which is much more salty) and they don't want kibble
- Solution bad luck you just gotta keep trying the above methods, I recommend mixing in some water and buy some canned food (Evangers or Artemis) and mix in 1/2 a tablespoon with the kibble and water. This makes a nice 'gravy' taste.

If your dog still isn't eating after 2-3 days I suggest you go to the vet, he might be having some problem.

I think that's bad advice. Dogs usually are choosy in food to manipulate you, if nothing is wrong with his health.

1) yes they were teething, I had already done that and no go.

2) You might be correct, kibbles i bought might not be tasty. Regarding brands... oh please... i don't really wunna waste on kibbles anymore. I had been trolling around the web reading "fan boys" opinion on kibbles.. most of the "premium" kib's that i purchased end up on my pariah dog tummy or longkang instead on my mutt pom tummy. hmm anyone kind enuff to donate some artemis /evo/horizon or etc ?

3) might give it a try.

last- both of my mutt pom were hyper. No health issue according to my vet.. last visit were about 3 week ago biggrin.gif

no need one, take ur kibbles, mix something in it.
Boiled chicken meat, eggs, carrots, cucumber, celery, apples, bananas.........
Let say u feed 2 spoons per meal. Then u can try 1 1/2 spoon per meal, then 1 spoon per meal, with the human food.
Then slowly take away the addings. Reason is dun wan them to be full. Slowly, they will eat back kibbles one, else let them starve loh......starve for 3-4 days wont die one.

Yea lor, just add some bribery in the food - they will take it. Like today, I added some leftover turkey hams for my dogs and they finished it all within minutes. But they very pandai also, they pick all the ham first, later baru finish the kibbles.

I tore them to bits and mixed it up with my fingers but they still manage to find the ham over the kibbles.

Yes, I've fed Acana, both lamb and chicken before but that was a long time ago. Acana and Orijen is same manufacturer, just FYI.

nonono, not the old formula, that one no proble.
Acana now has new formula liao, not the old one. Packing also changed already.......Ingredients better. When my FIFI is on chicken, her poo poo very nice, one big piece. Then when she;s on Lamb, the poo is small small piece(not watery though), easy to stick on her fur. HAven try new fish yet. Anyone encounter that?

I was talking to a GSD breeder and few of his dogs are MKA Malaysian champion showdogs. He said dont waste $$$ on those expensive dogfood.
He fed his dogs on ATTA BOY(fr US) , only available in Giant. 16kg only cost around Rm80+ and he challenge me to get another product that is better value.

I think it depends on how much you love your dog. Do you think if your dog eat Atta Boy, your dog will be MKA champion show dogs? Think not. So, feed whatever your pocket can afford lor. Doesnt mean eat good food wont have sickness and eat bad food wont be beautiful. This kind of things is suka hati one but as pet lover, we just give whatever we can, as a form of love to know they are eating well. Afterall, ours are home pets and we are not breeders.

Best dog food depends on ur dog. Just like human they got their individual preferences. A good dog food is to look at their stools. It should be less than 1/4 of the amount fed. If the stools is as much as the amount fed then its a bad dogfood because there is very little absorbtion and it contained a very high % of filler.

Premium dogfood - feed less
Cheap dogfood - feed more & more shit(more work)
