QUOTE(blinky @ May 16 2008, 11:29 AM) I'm using V-Kool Elite, Toyota tinted it for me before I collected my car. RM1,600, so far so good. It is the rubber wrap, cut it if you want. Argh the seat belt squeaking sound is pissing me off! 1,000km more to my 5,000km service. Next time get Nissan - 3 yrs later trade in and get Sylphy: longer than new Accord, CVT, and super more quiet. This post has been edited by dstl1128: May 16 2008, 03:27 PM |

QUOTE(jasontoh @ May 19 2008, 08:51 PM) For me 1.3L auto (MyVi) vs 1.5L auto (Vios), I think it is fuel saving enough. City drive is about the same (or even better) but Vios have better performance. For highway, then Vios will be very good. I go Penang, when the fuel indicator just reach half-tank, my milleage is 375km. constant 120kmph. |

QUOTE(changshen @ May 24 2008, 02:50 PM) hey...seems like the new Vios...the front part...can be easily scratch..i notice mine..some fine scratches....like small dot..may be because of stone or what..cannot prevent la...the front is just too smooth....i have gone to the show room..even the car in the show room arleady scratch...esspecially front part of new vios.... Compare to the paint of older cars, new car paints really easy to get stone chip. Plus the paint clear-coat is too thin. |

Engine from driver seat - sure, especially going uphill, otherwise it is quite silent on flat road with 8pt volume on audio.
Fan - yes, when car is stationary and the fan turns, when moving the fan noise is not audible due to other noise being louder. Brake pad - no sound at all. |

Unlike Proton, it is definitely more quiet than Protons.
If you compare to Latio, Latio is way too quiet. This post has been edited by dstl1128: Jun 2 2008, 05:50 PM |

QUOTE(- L e O - @ Jun 8 2008, 01:25 AM) I have test drove the Vios today, too bad to say even my gen 2 highline ride comfort, interior quality ,sound proofing and engine power is better than it . =(, anyhow i will still sell my gen 2 and get this car because i need a Auto car for everyday City driving. First you have to understand that the engine/ecu of Vios is adaptive and self-adjust to driver preferences.Second you have to know that those test drive car, usually are driven like turtle. Thirdly, it takes the period of around at least half-a-tank of fuel used (rough guide) in order to feel the ECU start adapting your styles. Fourthly, E/G/S - which one you test drove? Honestly, - 1.6L Gen2 Manual with high rev driving will anytime have better engine power. - Campro idle is more quiet than 1NZFE. - 1.6L Gen2 Auto is far behind in terms of FC & performance of 1NZFE Auto. There's no perfect car. Why Vios? The stuff you complain in T.Vios, might score better in N.Latio and H.City. |

QUOTE(red-queen @ Jun 9 2008, 02:07 PM) Not really. Dumb ECU just do A/F mapping. Try driving MyVi for a month vs a Vios for a month using different driving style (pedal metal vs sissy). QUOTE(khtee @ Jun 9 2008, 03:13 PM) Highway, I'm getting 16~18km/L. City, I'm getting 12~14km/L. FC/Milleage includes flooring the pedal occasionally after toll. |

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Jun 9 2008, 05:31 PM) Did you do any modification to you vios? Your city driving FC is like my highway driving. And in City the best I can get is 12km/L. Or is it you have done the 5k service? I'm now on 15,000km range. No mod. Using Toyota full synth (5000km interval change). Today I just change to Motul 300V. |

QUOTE(my44 @ Jun 10 2008, 06:55 AM) My car now clocks about 15K in mileage. Lately I notice nicer improvement in FC. Last night when I refuel, I managed to get 16.4km/L. Driving condition: local town driving (Kemaman, Kuantan). Does your local town have up/down hill slope? Last week, drove on the highway with 4 passengers, bla bla, still managed above 15km/L. Quite happy with the performance. AFAIK, if it is so, the Vios will adapt to a more torquey/agressive response suitable for the terrain. If always long distance highway, Vios will be 'lazy'. When you suddenly meet with hilly road, have to 'press' more. In the end, it will averages out the inefficiency. |

QUOTE(Dickong @ Jun 10 2008, 11:08 AM) Actually getting fed up with the sc, becos complain 3 time about my undercarriage sound n nothing done, still there the stupid sound, any ideal where to give official complain other than sc. Toyota SC is like fast food restaurant. Your car go in, they touch oil filter and change engine oil, and then the worker go chat and smoke. You wait there 2hr for nothing done besides oil change, and then your car ready. Charges you RM70+++ for rubbish service.Check your service booklet, 1000km, 5000km, 10000km... all requires Throttle body cleaning. Toyota SC doesn't even touch it at all. You can check it with the finger prints/marks on dusty engine - dusty before enter Toyota SC, remain the same dusty engine after service. My 15000km service outside already. RM20 labour charge. But use Motul 300V. Btw, undercarriage sound? How does it sound? So far my Vios is ok on sound besides the ngik ngok of the rubber wrap on the seat belt female head. QUOTE(enson1985 @ Jun 10 2008, 11:21 AM) Wondering how u all get so much better fc. Mine 70% highway driving only able to get 12km/l. If 100% town driving i think is only about 10km/l. Any way to keep the fc low? Such like which recommended engine oil, driving behaviour n etc? Must sometimes rev rev lah. Your car not run in yet. My 1st service I request change ATF as well. QUOTE(enson1985 @ Jun 10 2008, 08:45 PM) Reach 180km consider rev kau kau? Haha... mileage now is 2k plus plus. So far din't notice any changes in fc. Still the same. My 'rev rev' means reaching 6500rpm. How I count my FC: 1. refill, auto stop, full tank 2. reset meter. 3. drive until left 1 quarter 4. refill, auto stop, full tank on the same kiosk/pump. |

QUOTE(leowhy @ Jun 11 2008, 08:51 AM) so meaning if we drive it mostly for city driving (more stop & pickups), the engine will become more "hardworking"? The gearing behavior also change too. but that'll translate to higher consumption anyway... The most noticeable is when you often flat highway road, then once in a while going uphill - the car damn lazy to move up and have to press more. Added on June 11, 2008, 9:34 am QUOTE(- L e O - @ Jun 10 2008, 04:29 PM) Save more 1st before buying loh. If you rush and buy, later regret owning one. Just wait until you have enough d/p, then buy it. Vios E - RM 79,200.00 Latio 1.6 Auto - RM87,945.50 Diff - RM8745.50 Assume you loan 7 yrs, int 2.3%, you are paying RM121 extra per month - for a 1.6L and a vastly more quiet ride. I think the actual name is something like "Toyota ATF IV", is around RM140~RM150.
If smooth city driving (rarely got jam), 15km/L no problem. |
