May i know how much each time you all service your car at Toyota service centre is it expensive? Is it compulsory to go back to service your car at toyota any comment?i mean is better service more advantanges if compare to service the car at outside....
*
My 1st service (I insisted on the ATF change):

Gasket 1.70
ATF Fluid WS (4L) 129.80
Oil Filter 29.15
Toyota Motor Oil (4L) Mineral 59.90

Total: 220.55 (90.75 if stick with original plan - no ATF change).

It is that cheap because labour is free currently. Otherwise, labour is many times more expensive than outside.

I request for using semi synth... but they forget and use Mineral. mad.gif

I'm getting my VIOS this week and the salesman asked me if I want to tint it and polish it... According to the salesman, the tinting will be from V-Kool and will costs me RM 1700 while the polishing can lasts longer and provide color protection on the car and will costs me RM 600... So like to ask all the sifu here, does it worth it ??
*
With that RM1700, I opt for WinGard highest grade (10 yr warranty), with security film included. tongue.gif

actually G already good enough ...

ur fren work in toyota surely promote his product lar ... laugh.gif

Yes, too much rempit.

Btw, it's just few k difference between S and G without much differences. I just don't like spoiler, amber meter and I can calculate my FC manually. So choose G. tongue.gif

When I first get my car, yes, the 1st bar is around 50km. My FC was 11km/L initially... now it hover around 13km/L +/-0.5 (occasionally 14km/L) - with 80% city and 20% highway.

they said the max speed is locked to 140km/h for new vios? true?
*
Tried 180kmph. Who the hell is the "they"?

QUOTE
Wanna ask some sifu heremas the new vios audio player support mp3 and wma. When i insert a mp3 disc i burn by myself for example in the disc got 100 mp3 but why only 44 song appear?mean the mp3 did not support or what?something wrong with the mp3 format?any1 encounter this problem?tq

From what I experiment, it has quite weird support for multisession disc. So most likely it willl detect the 1st few sessions, or even just the 1st session only.

QUOTE
new vios very quiet if u dun accelerate like normal driving like that
only hear engine sound when over 3rpm
but that wont affect ur mood
they always say vios engine is noisy
but didnt find it tat also
the more i drive the more i love

Going slow and uphill with around ~2krpm, the engine noise is quite loud. Other than that, it is reasonably quiet.

no point to rev it
compare it wth city u dun hard step on it also
it provide a smooth driving cruise in city
and if u wan sudden pickup
it can go up to 4RPM suddenly of cuz with big noise if you step harder
so far i getting 130 km 10litre
goin service my car this sat
not sure wat to complain
any idea???
*
Complain no mudguard. tongue.gif Toyota being save cost until almost all new Toyota car no mudguard, so the mud and tar all stick on to the front doors and rear bumper. Quite good FC. Right now mine saturated on 13km/L in almost full city drive (plus rev rev brows.gif ), if I drive once to KLIA become 14km/L. Full highway not yet try.

Acceleration is adaptive. If you always up/down hill, it kinda rev hungry; If you always highway flat road, it become relaxed & lazy rev abit.

Went to the toyota showroom in subang this evening and i now started to fall in love with the new vios, which is a suprise coz at 1st i hated its looks. Now i kind off able to accept the unique look of the new vios, esp in blue or black color. I love the interior and the driving position, the shift pattern gear is nice as well.

I not sure whether i should go for no frills E spec or G spec, well since 85k is kinda steep for me.

Don't get E. At least a G, with eletronic adjust/retract wing and signal, better safety, ASL central console and 6 speakers, steering volume/track/mode adjust.

While mine is WQQ, I saw WQV vios already, in just 3months. KL people sure rich.

Actually the backseat board (the board that closes the boot) have some noise for my car. Then i feel the remote has problem, must walk near near only can detect.

Then the side mirror when you close it (auto) 1 side close faster than the other side and got little sound when it close. You guys have that problem?
*
Didn't notice the backseat board noise. Yes the remote is quite near and the bengish alarm indicator looks funny. Side mirror also yes, one side faster (but I forgot which side). Anyway if your side mirror kena knocked to other position it will positioned back, or positioned back when engine on.

if you purchased a car E-spec, will you remove the E-logo, so that other people won't know your car spec?
I saw a car just now...
*
Your body will also comes with a body-side signal light instead of wing-mirror signal light, your central console radio looks cheap, rims a 'lil ugly...

... unless you fork out some $$$ to amend those, then it the total cost will be like a 'G'. Duh!

Hello.

I just booked my Toyota Vios 1.5S about an hour ago.

The SA said I'll get my car in a month's time, so should be around March.

Any problems with this car?

I test drove it, seems quite okay for me.

How does this car fair with the Honda City?\

By the way, what's the bulb type for the Vios? Going to install HID after I get the car smile.gif
*
Larger and more comfortable in every aspect than City except the boot space. City has more flexible ultra seat, water repellant fabric, and CVT.

I have a black MyVi, that's why I choose gray blue Vios. Because black super hard to maintain.

I choose not to get S because I hate the useless spoiler. Plus it sooner or later the screw of the spoiler will rust faster than any other car parts - AFAIK the spoiler is attach-on. Plus it is more difficult to wash/wax as it has hard to reach section. I will get S if they don't have the spoiler but instead offer mudguards. tongue.gif

I used to wow on optitron meters but, after thinking deep, it will be normal like using non-optitron.

The E model doesn't have integrated audio, no 6 speaker as well, no electronic wing mirror and just body side signal.

No actually i look at the rpm meter and it goes down when erach 170. I purposely go to port kland highway to test it too. Engine sound loud is because the engine is too near to our datch box
*
How many service has you been through? It might be possible that the car came with a speed (or rev) limiter until after 1st or 2nd service then it is unlock, though I have no idea about it.

The 1st two services are mineral oil, unless you forcefully insisted to use other type.

It is a 90% must I would say. I nag them and they finally let me use semy-syn (as selected on the job sheet). But the foreman inside use mineral instead. WTF?! Now I'm after 2nd service and I lazy to ask for better oil already.

My latest FC test, just to gauge 95% highway driving:

LPT highway, 120-140km/h, distance about 350km, after refuel - 15.8 km per litre

Not bad..

I imagine if drive 110km/h constant, no air con, maybe can get 17 km per litre, hehe!
*
Same here, highway KL to PG, just reach half-tank on 370km with 120~140km/h. Continue driving here & there in PG island, and a refill, calc FC ~15.8km/L.

Reach 180kmph before on a flat straight road to KLIA and then let go back to 140kmph, my balls are just not made of titanium.
