btw how ar?
20k service
max check wat they change?
*
Just engine oil, oil filter change, and check brake fluid. Check ATF WS top up if necessary. It is just normal check.

I doubt they check your tires thread line and rotate for you, and I also have doubt whether they have 'clean' my air filter or not.

Unless they mean Super Ultra Advance Max Check... uhm, which doesn't exist anyway.

I think that's a bullshit from the sales agent. Refunding should be allowed unless sales & purchase agreement documents were signed.

Well, Vios is not design to whack around corners.

Anyway, facelift version might be coming faster due to recession - just to increase sales - probably IMO around 2009Q4 - just in time for a 2yr facelift/4yr new gen cycle.

Definitely partly got bashed by Honda City - like Core2 bash Athlon64.

Another reason is overall slower sales of car.

I know it comes from the seat itself since I often slide forward / backward my seat, and the sound went away. After a moment of peaceful driving, the shrieking comes back. Arghh ..
Your problem #2 & #3 are same like mine. The boot can easily be complained to the SC. In fact, I also had problem with the fuel door unable to open. Complain terus!
*
It is the seat belt rubber/plastic/fake-leather (I'm not sure what material it is) wrapping. It can happen on both front seat. Your only choice is:
Fold it up or,
tear it off or,
push it in front (i.e. lower it).

Since sliding the seat will temporary 'move' the seat belt (female head) position, the nyit nyat sound will come back after it naturally settled back on 'your' position.

Because of this simple noise, sometimes I'm planning to sell it off and get other car.

Oh sorry. I forget to mention 'where' is that thing. tongue.gif

It is the (leather?) wrapping of the metal rod of the seat belt female head.
CODE

(back view of the both front seats)

[      ]             [      ]
  |  |                 |  |
+------+             +------+

     [ ] +---+ [ ]

+------+/   |   |   \+------+

         ^         ^
         |         |
+---------+-----> the fake leather wrapping of the legs of these both female seat belt side are rubbing against the seat... thus creates the noise.

Sometimes pushing or moving the female head front or back solve the problem temporarily but instantly. If you want permanent, have to fold it up or tear it off.

Well the SC, said the front seat has no problem and they had done everything they could, duh! doh.gif

Anyway it is not the seats that are making the noise - noob (or lazy) SC.

if i go town driving in ipoh my maximum mileage for full tank is around 380~400

my car is getting more powerful after i speed till 180 at putrajaya highway tongue.gif

It will learn your driving behavior and sets itself between more aggressive or more lazy.

Anyway I'm getting 320km half tank for recent P.Penang trip, down from previous 375km half tank. And I drove slower than previously. Weird.

Driving slow doesn't mean that your FC will be better. If you keep on pressing & releasing your accelerator pedal then you are consuming more fuel. Better to maintain a steady pressure on the pedal. That will give you better FC even if you are driving @ a higher speed.
*
Well for me the reverse is true, previous trip was on & off on the pedal and it has better milleage. While the recent one I'm having constant pressure on the pedal. cool2.gif

Well, the speed is
90~110km/h (current trip) vs
110~160km/h with mostly 120~130km/h (previous trip) and previous trip has better milleage.

Half tank is not accurate becoz ur tank is not exactly square smile.gif
*
I'm not using the fuel meter for measurement. I measure (and compare) it by full-tank refuel. My "half-tank" is just a verbal compare for being roughly half-tank in real measurement.
I've calculated, the previous trip I'm having 18km/L, while 16km/L for this current trip.

I already explained my driving style. The recent one is constant pressure & constant speed. I do it purposely to test FC hoping to get better mileage than before but... disappointed.

WTH forced myself to limit the speed... that makes the whole journey even more boring and very very sleepy.

p/s: Same load. And both situation I serviced the car before the long journey and also drive @ 2~3am.

done first service.. due for 2nd now. but dont hv time to send to sc.
i rev to 3k b4 changing gear.. n now i notice the engine gone louder  doh.gif
things that i face now:
1. clutch engage too deep
2. engine choke when release accelerator pedal at 140kmh
3. suspension noise at front
4. jump cable broken...
5. side arm rest decolour.. (notice from day 1 but forgot to show SC in 1st service).
*
Manual ViosJ?

1. You left leg probably like to float on the clutch pedal, just 2 months and clutch engage too deep?

2. Well what kind of choke do you mean? For manual car, a sudden release of accelerator pedal always 'shock' the car a little.

3. What kind of noise? I only have noise @ front is when I *fly* over humps.

4. ... what is jump cable?

5. Side arm rest decolour? Black really can decolour? Unless you sweat like hell everyday & your sweaty arm always rest on it.

13km/L city/crazy driving is reasonable.

p/s: When I got my car I rev hard too.

I'm using ViosG (1 of very first batch of dugong). My milleage started with 11km/L, then gradually hover on between 13km/L ~ 14km/L for city driving, meanwhile highway is around 16km/L~18km/L - tested with 3 adult passenger and fully filled trunk (yes those aunty/uncle have lots of luggages when back kampung tongue.gif). I'm using full synth engine oil btw.

When I got my car after 2nd refuel I rev hard, reaching 6.5krpm for few times. tongue.gif

I've also notice for those using semi-synth or full-synth, when reaching around 8k km milleage (10k km per oil change), the FC starts to get slightly lower.

QUOTE
1. It's like that since day 1. Asked SA on 1st service n the guy say it looks normal when he lightly press the pedal n then say the relief space is still fine. but then in reality i hv to floor it to engage it fully.
2. it's not kinda shock when u release suddenly. it's like the car is having asthma when i release the pedal gradually at around 140km/h n then i notice the engine is like "hard to breathe".
3. some kling kling kling noise when going over uneven roads. those r not even pot holes, just some texture on old roads.
4. that's the red/black cable in the emergency kit. the plastic broke after 2nd time using it. actually i find it quite cheap as those we buy in brothers or such hv a metal support built behind the plastic "buaya" clip. both of the time i use it to jump start another fren's car. at the 2nd time i notice the "buaya" broke.
5. since day 1 also. it looks like the plastic has been under the sun for so many years. i believe it's material/batch related. will try n c if can claim.

1. Hmm... can't say much since I have no experience on using ViosJ manual besides changing gear in the showroom. tongue.gif

2. The car is drive-by-wire and is adaptive. Probably you drive tamely all the while and reach 140km/h occasionally. Try driving aggressively, the response is different.

3. I'm quite rough of a driver (driving relatively fast thru uneven road), so far the car haven't exhibit noise. Rear absorber noise (or is it?) when the car is parking on the slope with the rear @ flat roat and the front @ high slope & I jump inside the car - I got the same kind of noise with MyVi as well in the same situation. doh.gif

If you are saying something is knocking something in the cabin when going through uneven road, you might have the same problem that some wiring/socket thing behind the centre console is knocking the plastic.

4. Probably you are the unlucky one. Ask for replacement. Shouldn't break that fast.

5. No comment. Weird though. Claim it.

The manual also says:
- don't warm up your car - just start & drive smoothly until the 'Cool temp' went off. But many people still did it.
- rotate tires every 10,000km (or 5000km I can't remember the figure)

People here in LYN mostly are Honda and Proton fanboy. Occasionally you will meet few *super* Toyota fanboy out of no where.

Fanboy aside, objectively, what are you going to compare?
- FC: 13~14km/L for city drive, 16~18km/L for highway drive. Brochure says it has avg 15.xxkm/L - no where you could achieve that if you whole time in city drive however, highway drive will get much better than that.
- Handling: Vios is stable & comfort enough, but not good with cornering @ 100km/h.
- Gadget: ViosJ is the roti-kosong of car. Good if those want to mod steering wheel & ICE. Rear seat is not foldable too. Super basic reliable car moving from A to B.
- Design: This is subjective. This you depend on yourself. Well, my round of friends says Persona, BLM and new City are fugly but they also say Gen2 is damn looking good. And just little of them don't like the new Vios look while most of my friend is Proton owner.

1. No idea. Vios E/G/S fog lamp on/off switch is integrated on the main lamp switch. J doesn't have that unless you add external switch below the right aircond vent.
2. Yes. Price=no idea.
3. No diff. 4AT gated shift.
4. With enough $$$, yes you can mod drum to disc. But what for? You are not going to do ultra-late-braking skill every now & then.
5. .... no idea...
6. All color available - while, grayish blue, gold, silver, black.
