Did you ask for official invoice or receipt at the counter? Afraid that fellow take that RM10 and put in his/her pocket instead....imagine, 20 customers MNP-i in a day...
*
Receipt provided... It was not a Maxis center. Maxis reseller in Lotus Kepong. I'm not really concerned about overpaying for the sim anyway. They gotta make money too. Ported one line out first since 3G network is about to shut down. I'm still not sure what will happen with Celcom MNVO since they havent announced any plan to go VOLTE. So waste some money to prepare for sudden surprise.

Update:

I just received a sms from Hotlink saying my number has been reloaded with RM10. Guess it's the amount that I paid yesterday for the sim.

If you can live with voice on 3G, then falling back to 2G should work just fine once 3G network is shutdown.

i'm confuse on the Hotlink 365 plan.

I MNP from other telco to this plan.
Once it is migrated to 365 plan, i checked in Hotlink app. There is no credit and immediately i topup RM30 and my validity extend to 2 months.

Upon checked in Hotlink App, there are 2 type of pass available:
1) Internet Pass: RM6, RM10, RM20 (valid for 365)
2) Others Pass: RM30 for 365 days sim active

Is that means that if i bought anyone of above i will get the validity of 365 ?
Another question:
Someone in the post mentioned: we need to topup RM5 every 2 months at the year end we can have enough RM30 to buy validity..
Why still need to topup RM5, every 2 months if i bought the RN30 with 365 validity.

Hope someone can enlighten me.

Many thanks.

If you want it easy, then yes, buy RM20 for 10GB for 365days plus RM30 to keep your line active for 365days.

Alternatively, you just buy 10GB for RM20... then whenever your line become inactive and enter grace period, just top up another RM5 before the grace period ending which would refresh the grace period counter again.

1) Internet Pass: RM6, RM10, RM20 (valid for 365)
These are Internet Passes so that your line can access the Internet. The validity of these passes are 365 days.

2) Others Pass: RM30 for 365 days sim active
In order to use those passes, your line will have to be active. RM30 is paid towards making your line active for 365 days.

topup RM5 every 2 months at the year end we can have enough RM30 to buy validity.
This is the alternate way to keep your line active. Each time you top up RM5, your line will stay active for the next 60 days. So if you top up RM5 every 2 months just to keep the line active, in a year you'll have RM5 x 6 = RM30 total. For the following year, you'll have the option to use this RM30 to pay towards 365 days' validity without having to make sure you keep track of topping up RM5 every 60 days in order to keep the line active.

Hope the above helps somewhat. smile.gif

I'm understood except #1, for the RM6, RM10, RM20 internet pass. In hotlink app, it showed that it has validity of 365 day.
Assuming i just done MNP from other Telco, the cheapest option to get my line active and also with internet pass is RM6 ?

Or in order I can buy those internet pass, i need to pay RM30 to get my line active for 365 days first ?
If this, then my total price spend will be RM36 to get 365 active and 2GB mobile data.

buy the 365 days internet pass

reload rm5 every 60 days to keep the line active to be able to use the 365 days internet pass

the accumulated credit can be use to purchase another 365 days internet pass

https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/terms-conditi...d-internet-365/

Presuming you pick this Internet pass:
2GB for 365 days at the cost of RM6.00 (Refer to Clause No. 19 in the link).

The Internet pass is valid for 365 days. But in order to use it, your line has to be active.

You can keep your line active for 365 days (in order to use the RM6 Internet plan) with either option:

1) Pay RM30 to get a 365 days SIM validity pass (Clause No. 14 in the link).
For this, your initial cost will be RM6 + RM30 = RM36.

2) Top up RM5 which will give you 60 days validity. Do this every 60 days which will be 6 times to get 365 days validity. (Clause No. 10 in the link)
This option will cost you RM6 for the Internet Pass, while your credit balance will have an accumulative total of RM30 (RM5 x 6 times) at the end of the year.
As suggested in the post before this, you can choose to use the RM30 credit balance the 2nd year to pay for a 365 days SIM validity pass.

Your cost will be lower with the 2nd option, but you'll have to keep track to ensure you top up every 60 days.

After paying NOTHING (ie RM0.00), the SIM validity is extended for 60 days from today:

Conclusion: No need to "reload" RM5 to extend 60 days SIM validity....
