I just ported-in to Hotlink Prepaid 1.0 2-weeks ago. No such bs by the Maxis store staff.

The one you dealt with probably want to meet store KPI and bluffed.

For online MNP, once you complete your eKYC they will send you a sim kosong Hotlink. The sim kosong is tagged to your MNP request and it is a registered courier delivery. Once delivered to you, Hotlink "should" automatically start the MNP process and the usual MNP process will start just like physical store MNP (receive port-out SMS, answer accordingly and... wait).

Physical store MNP is always faster as you don't have to wait for the sim kosong to arrive.

So probably, if convenient to you, try at another Maxis store. Sometimes, need to make sure that the store is really operated by Maxis, and not by some 3rd party concessionaire (where the bs normally happens). You normally can see the actual operator of the Maxis store by looking at its signboard (with words like "Maxis Broadband Sdn. Bhd." etc etc)

Still has this issue? I know it was an issue in 2022 many times. But after mid-2023, no such issue. So I managed to port in and out a few times and a few numbers too.

This method is only workable IF you do not have an existing/ previous Hotlink number in their system. The system will catch that you have or had a Hotlink number (after entering NRIC), but if you use that number in their system to proceed with eKYC, you cannot change the number to the other number(s) that you want to port-in.

But.. there is nothing that a Shopee seller/ dealer cannot handle... as a last resort.

The fact that a "manager" has say whether you can port-in or otherwise already confirms that they are just bs-ing about many of the requirements as opposed to just allowing you to port-in into the plan you want (unless you are blacklisted or barred by your current telco from leaving).

If you have just ported-in, it will take time for VoLTE and VoWifi to be activated on Hotlink. Probably a day or two 🥱

Yeah, Hotlink is like that. You can WhatsApp (012-3451123) chat their customer service to put you in the queue faster. Keywords to start the chat: "[MaxisFB_CS] Hi". Can also do voicemail turn-off request at the same time.

In this regard dickgi is better - VoLTE and VoWifi activated and running immediately upon port-in.

Is anyone using the Pakej Rahmah under your Pantas plan although not falling within the specified eligible category of persons?

I managed to buy one on my own daily driver number though I do not fall within the category of eligible persons.

And as I have a 365-day data pass (5GB) running, data is being deducted from the 5GB pass first. So I could not test Pakej Rahmah's 30GB portion, yet.

Under "Rahmah", I purchased one. Never knew I was eligible as one of those listed eligible groups, or it could be Maxis didn't care at all.

Seems to be the case that as long as the option appears in the app, can proceed to buy.

At 3Mbps, I could still watch 1080p youtube. Can see the preload/ progress bar far ahead up to 20 seconds.

Based on observation, if you have a shorter period data pass, that will be used first unless the speed is faster.

My current combination on Pantas plan is 5GB (365 days validity) and Perpaduan. The 5GB portion (full speed) will be used first.

For Prepaid 1.0 plan, I have RM5 (Sabah 7-day pass) and Perpaduan. Still the same, Sabah data pass (full speed) will be used first. Here: Rahmah (previously Perpaduan) FAQs

Based on the FAQs (but for Rahmah package, not Perpaduan) a shorter-period pass will be used first (ie hour/day/week passes).

But ultimately, higher speed pass will be used first.

If you mean switching within Hotlink (from another Hotlink prepaid to Pantas), then yes the credit will be brought forward. But existing internet passes probably not.

Logically, as you will not be able to make call/ SMS during grace period even with available credit, your credit is also suspended for everything else during inactive period.

But why need to wait till it enters inactive period before switching?

Where got so good keep offering everyday. Hotlink/ Maxis ain't that charitable.... the free credit can be "sold" by "Share Top Up" with 50 sen charge.

No such option for Hotlink's own website. Easier to just buy VIP numbers from online shopping platforms and port-in.

Some VIP numbers on sale on online shopping platform actually can self-activate.

Make sure you are on Pantas plan and not Prepaid 1.0.

Can change to Pantas in Hotlink app (chargeable). Then the option 365-days validity will be available to you.

But for same RM30, can consider Pakej Perpaduan, 180 days validity and 30GB (3Mbps) over that 180 days period.
