Afternoon, my 2-yrs illegear laptop (5k+ cry.gif ) just died in agony, so looking for another brand for my studies.

1. Budget : RM4k-RM5k (or can be lower)
2. Usage : Mainly architecture rendering, 3D modeling (Sketchup, Revit etc)
3. Requirements : My previous laptop was i7-8750H + GTX1060, maybe the spec around it would be more than enough for me.
Size and weight doesnt matter also

Any recommendation other than illegear would be appreciated thumbup.gif

p.s. is ryzen better than intel now?

wait time? can stretch to RM5.2k?

if cannot stretch then take Nitro 5 (model AN515-57-51NV, need to add your own RAM), not great but at least passable

Hi sifus, looking to get a new laptop (mainly for work), would need some recs

1. Budget : max rm3.5k

2. Usage : office use (able to handle 30+ tabs open) and internet surfing

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : display size 14 inch or smaller, HDMI port, standard battery life (might need to last for 5 hours on battery, though 80% of the time will be connected to power), preferably lightweight and not from acer/asus brand (bad personal exp with these 2 brands, sry)

Can wait for 2 - 3 weeks. Appreciate ur help nod.gif

Display doesn’t really matter to me but RAM preferred upgradable or straight go for 16GB.

Willing to increase budget to ~4K and extend wait time up to 4 - 5 weeks. Thx sifu.

Hello Sifus.
I just found out there's a Black Friday sale at Lenovo, I am not ready! Is there a coupon I can add to the sale, and if I miss this, would there be another round at 12.12 for laptop manufacturers?
Edit: Nevermind, a lot of the models are sold out. I hope it comes back for 12.12.

mayb can take a look at Thinkpad E14 / Thinkbook 14 retail models (shopee/lazada), a bit pricey for what it offers though

1. Budget : 6-8k

2. Usage : net browsing & gaming (dota2, nba, back4blood etc)

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Good battery life, prefer light but gaming hardly will be light right. Better if there's some form of international warranty.

Flexible timing but budget ready

thank you for the explanation. I might narrow it to 2021 Rog Zephyrus G14 series and Lenovo Legion 5. The price of Lenovo Legion 5 is 100 cheap compared to Asus G14 and it have more better graphic card but yeah, it will come to 14-15 inch/weight and G14 does not have webcam! zzz.

I went to Harvey Norman and tried the G14. It seems good and lightweight but yeah gonna take a look at Legion 5 this coming weekend. Last question for me to you, if were you Legion 5 or Asus G14?

I would like to get confirmation on the value of GPU limit (Max Q) for:
a. Asus Vivobook Pro 14X OLED (N7400, 11th Gen Intel) - NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3050
b. Legion 5 (15", Gen 6 ) (Phantom Blue) - Part Number: 82JW0067MJ - NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 3050 4GB GDDR6
c. Legion 5i (15", Gen 6) (Phantom Blue) - Part Number: 82JK0032MJ - NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 3050 4GB GDDR6
d. 2021-rog-zephyrus-g14-series - https://rog.asus.com/my/laptops/rog-zephyru...rus-g14-series/ - GA401QH - GTX1650 4GB

Last question for me to you, if were you Legion 5 or Asus G14?

Thank you to both of you for answering all my question thumbup.gif thumbsup.gif

both different type for different target. i worry about your back if you tends to carry 3kg+ (2.5kg+close to 1kg brick) like daily.

so is up to you to decide though.

G14 webcam is one of dealbreaker for some but can be easily fixed with usb clip-on webcam.

a. ASUS 14X OLED: 35W base, up to 50W boost (according to ultrabookreview on amd version)

b/c legion: 80w base, up to 95w boost

d. 50w base, boost 65w according to ASUS CS/product guide https://www.asus.com/event/2021/productguid...ROGPGQ32021.pdf

you're comparing different categories of models now which is unfair

anyway here's the info u want:
Vivobook Pro 14X: 35-50W 3050MQ
L5/L5i: 80-95W 3050, with MUX
G14: 50W 1650

everyone has different needs so I won't answer your last question
