Jz sold off my lenovo y7000se,quite happy within 1 year and 9 months of usage...
So looking for another laptop...

Budget = 4k +- Rm500
Usage = browsing + light gaming
Requirement(At Least The Overall Quality of Lenovo Y7000SE)
6C12T(11400H / 5600H),Don't Mind Old Model or Latest 4C12T
1660Ti +- Performance,Prefer At Least 6GB if Can,but dis will kill off those 4GB GPU,can convince me
*Not reali gaming, but nice to have in case i need
144hz or faster,100% srgb,300nits?
Prefer 17",but 15" also ok...
8GB + 8GB DDR4
Storage doesn't care
*Will prefer pricing 1st(worth to buy)

Dun mind to wait 1 to 2 months
Btw,any good laptop for browsing and some simple job?
Strictly under 2k,performance like 11300h or 11400h?
*igpu will do

tbh RM4k-4.5k is an awkward budget...3050/50Ti are pricey while 3060 models are cut down (bad screen, low TGP, no MUX)

for the 2nd laptop, there's nothing decent under RM2k, forget about 11300H or 11400H like performance

Hi sifus, I have a lot of questions to ask.

Been using windows and hp loyally for a decade, but I think its time for me to migrate. I got my eye on the dell xps13 and macbook air m1. I'm leaning towards the mac, but I've never used one in my life. How hard is it migrating to mac os? I have a wd external drive, do I need to format it for the mac to read it? Or just plug and go? What about transferring files from my android phone to the mac, as breezy and easy as windows or any hurdle to jump through first?

Apple or dell? My main preference is light and good typing experience. I've tried the huawei matebook, levono yoga slim, not so keen on them. Supposedly microsoft surface can be challenging for repair, is that true?

Also, is mac expensive for repairs once the warranty runs out? Oh one more thing, macbook air has no fan and seller told me it didnt matter because m1 is that efficient. How true is that? My room is not airconditioned and gets pretty hot sometimes, and there are times when i work for a day straight. Can macbook air with no fan tahan that?

Any advise is much appreciated, thanks.

Mac need to readjust your habits, but for non-gamers it should be quite okay (most of what we do nowadays for jobs is on websites anyway).

A few points to consider:-
1. Microsoft office (most important) - it is not 100% compatible. The MacOS version is ALMOST as good, maybe can say 95% compatibility, but if you're very heavily reliant on powerpoint formatting etc. this may be an issue.
2. External drives can be read as-is, but if you are in a Mac-only environment reformatting it makes sense. Don't think Mac defaults to HFS for external drives though because that really hampers cross-sharing with non-Mac OS.
3. M1 processor is awesome, don't worry about heat unless you're literally cooking it in a microwave. You will overheat before your Mac overheat (with the M1 processor).

But my simple 'benchmark' question is this la - if you have to ask whether repair is expensive then maybe don't get a Mac. Definitely not the cheapest (but worth it for the experience la, if you like that sort of thing).

Hi all, I'm looking to get a new laptop from the range of 4 to 5k max.

Usage will be mainly for movies, reading documents, but at the same time want gaming capabilities as well. Usually play Genshin Impact or any other AAA titles.

Currently looking at Level 51 Forge 15S with 3050 so far. It seems like nothing can beat this model in terms of price to value ratio (i7, 16gb Ram, 3050), but I'm not sure how good is it, or whether there's a catch.

Also looking at Dell G15.

Any input on the above 2?

Hi Sifus, need some advise here.
I am looking to buy a laptop for casual use such as studying + movie + some medicore gaming.
Any good laptop with budget around <4k ?

Checked some threads here and saw this "-Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 15ACH6" but not sure if this is still a good recommendation. Looking for advice .

TQ in advance!

ps: If you want to know the specs I am looking for these will be likely the specs ~
i5 processor with 3050 gpu and 15 inch screen should be more than enough.
