The position is Junior sales technician.

After a brief introduction, SM stated the offer RM 2950 + com and allowance. here goes the heat

Candidate: Excuse me? I thought you advertised salary from 2400-3200. Why not 3200?
S.M.: We are evaluating based on work experience, you do not have any experience in the technical engineering industry. Though you have experience in sales talk we want to give you the high side salary of the range we advertised
Candidate: What High side? This is very misleading, I can report you, you know.
S.M.: Ha ha, I think you need to understand the situation here.
Candidate: There is no situation, you advertised the salary, I should be expecting 3200.
S.M.: ...
Candidate: I work grab driver even better salary than you dumb company. Good luck.

I have to say, both employer and candidate got lucky. This is a pure mis-match of culture.
(btw, I am basing this on a one sided story and obviously the employer is only willing to extend offer after many considerations)

From candidate point of view, it is a insult to him somehow that this firm didn't even try to compensate him properly when he already matches the requirement.

From employer point of view, the employer thinks he can take advantage of the fact that the candidate is jobless.

Let me ask the employer: just for a difference of 250 rm, is it worth your time and effort to look again?

3.2K a lot nowadays? that should be minimum fresh grad salary

That’s okay lah. My first job : Advertised as RM3000. Offer letter time - RM2500 + RM 300 parking allowance + RM200 phone allowance.

I hardly had to use my phone as I can use their office phones to call and parking was like RM2 a day.

Worst part is the allowance need to put in claims. I diam diam accept cos its my first job
