i am newbie here and i like to get the views of the sifus here on an Ipod Touch purchase..

Is it worth it to buy the Ipod Touch with latest software for RM80 more compared to Ipod Touch with the original software?

If u buy the ori version then jailbreak to latest version, the warranty will be void, right ?

Any opinions on the above will be appreciated..

if you have extra cash to spend, not willing to spend some extra time figuring how to jailbreak, then go for the update pack.

for most of us here which have jailroken ipod would recommend you to jailbreak it simply because you will not only getting 5 apps, but a lot more.

well the applications are kinda useless really,

the warranty will be void if you jailbreak it, but you can unjailbreak it and they wont notice a diff. so ya, it depends on if you want to jail break or not. if you do then go ahead buy the cheaper

IMHO, better go for the upgraded ones if u just want it for the sake of MP3, video, photos and normal wifi usage with the enhancement of mail, notes and youtube for entertainment...

what format does it recognise?
i tried quicktime and mp4 but it says it's not supported? all are my own personal video and not any downloaded illegal videos..

get a video converter, theres some that are recommended in this thread personally i use "alive"

Oh. Some people said it was at RM1199..... could they be mentioning the first generation one? (not with the updates)

Yeah, RM1399 comes preloaded with new apps while RM1199 is not. Most of the stocks out there comes preloaded and it's pricing at RM1399.

There's one here I wanna get, it's RM1199 and I seriously want it! .. but I don't think I have enough.... if my parents ain't gonna help me get it, what other options do I have? Is there some 12-months installment thing possible?

Head over to garage sales and look for the best deal. panasonic88, is selling her used iPod touch 8GB for just RM850.

Ok. Now that's a great deal though she said it ain't 100% scratch-free, so I'm gonna check again. Thanks though.

I'm currently using 1.1.4 with January Software update. If i restore it back, will I have all my software back on my ipod after i updated it to 1.1.4?

Actually the front screen is scratch resistant glass, look for protective cases for it or use Gelaskin to cover the back from scratches.

Restore and sync back with the PC/Mac you use to bought the January Software Upgrade.
