DrWho,

My KS20, it has been ages (after I got the iPhone) since I touch it, eg. tuning and application installation and stuffs. It was running fast and stably but lately, it always reboot itselfs while I am in the midst of surfing web using Mini Opera. Any idea why? Is it because I need to install new version of Opera?

It's the matter of time before I smack this KS20 into pieces with a hammer...

Ha ha aha ED !!!!

i am facing the same same probs. i divorced my KS20 for a while after getting my E71. then as i tried to use it lately, all sorts of TYPICAL KS20 probs popped up !!! hanging, slowing down, jamming when sms and incoming calls running together .... wow wow wow .... no words to describe my anger and frustration ... hahaha ... i will hang myself one day !!!!

quoting your words of wisdom >>> It's the matter of time before I smack this KS20 into pieces with a hammer... vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

That is the beauty of a WM phone. You can set it up to look unique. iPhone looks like a iPhone tongue.gif

Words of Wisdom >>> Words of wisdom >>> Words of wisdom !!!

thats the exact words what i have been trying to figure out !!! yeh man, iPhone is always the iPhone (though i agree that it really performs well) ... KS20 does not behave the same all the time ... .viva WM ...

i think i will pass it to my maid to use the KS20 so that it will not left idle and gets hang .... .haha

DrWho,

I must agree with you WM platform is very customizable. But after using iPhone, I can't stop admiring it's speed, smoothness as well as animated transition between screens. It's way too well designed, at least for my personal preference. Not to mention, the hi-resolution display. I ain't gonna change to other branding of fones, except for another iPhone, which I will be getting another one soon for my other half, the 3G-S.

Mikey,

Haha... u know, u won't wanna be in my shoe. Waking up 3am, trying to reply (email) something urgent from another timezone, spending over 10 mins composing the email, right after I press the SEND button, the bugger went blank screen and auto rebooted itself. At that point, if I have a hammer with me, I wud hv smashed it, seriously!

HTC HD with cooked ROM can rival iPhone for its speed and fluidity. Its 3.5 inch VGA screen is difficult to match. I sound like a HTC salesman. doh.gif

true man Ed, i was in the foreign airport, and after writing a lengthy sms, it hanged before i could semd it off!!! iwas really sweating man !!! vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

but then again, in all fairness i left my KS20 idle for weeks .... many times, i was considering to sell it off. maybe i would.
DrWho's HTC HD is selling at below 2k, really tempting. but the new iPhone 3G S also priced little higher only .... so it is decision time again .... rclxub.gif

nvm, i can wait.

wow .... a 'hardcore' HTC HD ??? rclxms.gif

i am using it sometimes from a set of my collegue. it is in the stock factory setting. still fast and very smooth. maybe when the price comes down to 1.5k will consider it. but then, it is visually 'ugly' wor. squarish, thick in comparison, dull and 'dead' lookng. sigh sigh sigh .... HTC cant design an attractive body like samsung ka? whistling.gif

DrWho,

I hv no experience with HTC HD, so it's unfair for me to comment on that but honestly, WM looks ugly until they can come out with something matchable with iPhone OSX.

Mikey,

I only use my KS20 to download pictures now.. from those sites which is highly infected with viruses... hehehee...

I know that Vista WAS a problem but not sure now. You need to do plenty of googling to find out whether there is a solution for Vista. Easiest is to borrow a Windows 2000 or XP computer from a friend. wink.gif

WM6.0 only allow you to use up to 2GB SD card. WM6.1 will allow you to use SDHC card to 16GB and above.

Here is the WM6.1 KISS ROM flash package. Read the instruction carefully before you flash or run the risk of bricking your phone.

You are absolutely right about the raw WM 6.0 and 6.1 Today page, calender, keyboard etc being butt ugly. Manufacturers like HTC, Samsung and Sony are improving these by making their own plugins or skins. So far nothing beats iPhone UI...........yet! notworthy.gif

I hv just upgraded my iPhone OS from v3.0 to v3.0.1. Noticed that it takes up less memory and it runs even smoother than v3.0. I see they ironed out some bugs there.

DrWho,

I am very honest here, there are not much PDA/Smart fones that has great UI, even Sony and Samsung(not my preference). So far, I think Manila 3D is the best but it really need a very fast and high-end set to host it, eg. HTC HD.

I tried M3D in 1st gen Diamond before, it looked great but it feels like a Pentium 3 PC running XP! (remember those days?!)

I also agree with Mikey that if HTC can make something looks more handsome externally, it will be so cool! Samsung makes very very nice fones.

Wow, at last something really cool (except for the triangle mic/speaker on the bottom right). Seems like HTC still wanna remains the 'sharp edge squarish' look but much more classier.

Hi, I am using i-dial and i-contact.
The problem is when i add new contact into the phone, the new contacts doesn't appear in the i-contact. But it will still appears in the normal original contact menu. I had put the contacts in the sim card as well as in the phone...
Any idea how to solve it?

iContact only loads contact from the fone and not the sim-card. I am sure yr 'new' contact is there, u might wanna search for the name accordingly to the last name. Eg. Alex Chong, you can't find it from 'A' but you can find it under 'C'. To have it displayed as Alex Chong, just go to the original contact and select the 'Display Format' as Alex Chong and not Chong, Alex.
