Didn't Airod have extra C-130s lying around. Better absorb these C-130s before buying anything else

Also i think we should look for the likes of Il-76 or Globemaster III or C-2 Baby Globemaster III
*
problem with absorbing these white tailed C-130 is that it still require us congress approval. afaik one of them is practically a wreck before airod did their magic. pretty impressive to be able to turn a written off plane to a flyable one but I doubt the AF wanted it. Fucking flip didn't want them and these people would take anything, like third hand ANG C-130 or luftwaffe UH-1B

Also

>C-17
Prolly too big for our need

>C-2
Literally A400M with turbofan engines. And I'd rather have more A400M

>Il-76
CAATSA. besides Pakistan bought them and are less than pleased with the performance. The only reason why they bought them is because they're being blocked from getting KC-135 or Airbus MRTT and Y-20 wasn't a thing yet back then.
Also prolly too big for our need

Don't think AIROD has spare c130.
But them European do have lots of spare as they replaced it with a400.

Like you said before, TUDM has lots of transport aircraft, even higher than other neighboring countries. The high usage is probably due as atreyuangel says, RMN lost their transportation capabilities.

Anyway the RMN booth at DCA put the MRSS spefication as a 210 meter long vessel which put it about as big as type 071, San Diego or dokdo.

Thought the length & width they give do fit type 071 like a gloves.

Indonesia establishes consortium to reverse engineer anti-ship missile

by Ridzwan Rahmat

A mock-up of the C-705 medium-range anti-ship missile. Indonesia has established a consortium to reverse engineer an anti-ship missile and, based on an image released by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, it is strongly believed to be the C-705, which closely resembles the weapon type. (Janes/Patrick Allen)

An Indonesian consortium mainly comprising state-owned enterprises has been established to reverse engineer an anti-ship missile type with a view of establishing the capability in-country.

The consortium is led by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense's (MoD's) Directorate for Technology and Defense Industry and includes state-owned enterprises namely aerospace company PT Dirgantara Indonesia, defence electronics enterprise PT Len, explosives manufacturer PT Dahana, and heavy vehicles and ammunition producer PT Pindad.

Meanwhile, the two private enterprises that have been named as part of the consortium are defence software company PT Mulia Laksana Utama and unmanned aerial vehicles manufacturer PT Aero Terra Indonesia. An agreement to formalise the consortium was signed on 1 April, the Indonesian MoD said in a statement on 2 April.

Among matters that were formalised include the scope of work that each company will be involved in and the tests and certification processes that will be carried out at various stages of the weapon's dismantling.

Any updates about the army getting additional PT-91 tanks?

Is it related to the news about the disappearance of 100 PT-91 from Poland inventory?

kinda sceptical abt the news but if it does materialize, i hope we get an upgraded version with 3rd gen thermal and CITV

even as is the Pendekar can be considered as the best T-72, and that even when compared to indian T-90S

That title probably goes to the T-72B3 Obr 2016, or if you count the T-90 family, the T-90MS

The only thing that T-72B3 have is better base armor (T-72B>T-72M). Otherwise Pendekar is better.

Is T-90ms even exist beyond prototypes?

The B3 Obr 2016 also has longer and newer ammo, better ERA, and a better sight - not sure about other parts.

I think India bought some 90MS.

>era
It still uses Kontakt-5 which is comparable to Erawa-2. Even when compared to Erawa, I'd argue Erawa is better because it fits the tanks better and leave no huge gaps between blocks

>better sights
better compared to older T-72B maybe. T-72B3 still didnt have MRS and no auto target lock. target lead only.

T-90M has auto target lock

No, the T72 Obr 2016 uses Relikt (when it's not sandbags anyway...), and the Erawa-2 is said to be inferior to Kontakt-5 by the way. Look up assessments of the Polish tank fleet.

The Sosna-U supposedly has better range, but on 2nd thought, I dunno, maybe on par with the Savan 15.
