Looks like everyone is abandoning the Bullpup Rifle. After France the latest country is Israel in favor of the American M4 Rifle.

TNI Air Firce Chird Of Staff Fadjar Prasetyo said the procurement of the ordered C-130J aircraft will increase the capabilities of the Indonesian Air Force

JAKARTA

Indonesia purchased the latest series of Hercules C-130J transport aircraft made by the United States defense industry Lockheed Martin.

While reviewing the Lockheed Martin aircraft factory in Maryland, United States, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo said the purchase of the ordered C-130J aircraft would increase the capabilities of the Indonesian Air Force.

"Especially [the ability] in air transport operations is significant," said Kasau in his official statement on Thursday.

However, the Indonesian Air Force did not want to mention how many aircraft units were ordered and when the purchase contract was made and the agreed value.

During this visit, Kasau also received an explanation about the development of the C-130J Hercules aircraft ordered by the Indonesian Air Force which is being produced at the aircraft factory.

"I believe this visit will provide a better understanding of the C-130 J and C-130 training, so that the Indonesian Air Force can improve its operational capabilities from these aircraft," he said.

He also stated that the C-130 Hercules aircraft currently owned are the mainstay of the Indonesian Air Force in every military operation, humanitarian aid and disaster management.

Well good for Singapore. Bravo!!! Oh btw why all of the sudden you are talking about Singapore? No one is asking about Singapore. Are you Singaporean or Malaysian? Lol.

The C-130J Super Hercules is done deal. Indonesia ordered 5 units through DCS.

• V-22 Osprey - its only a US sale approval DSCA announcement. But still we will see if Indonesia finally decided to buy the Ospreys after the US approval.
• A400M - its not even TNI-AU prefered choice. So nope.

Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Super Hercules

QUOTE
Indonesia orders five C-130J aircraft from Lockheed

By Mike Yeo
Sep 9, 10:41 PM

MELBOURNE, Australia — Indonesia has quietly signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft, multiple sources have told Defense News. Photos taken during the Indonesian Air Force chief’s visit to the aircraft’s production line suggests construction on the first aircraft is underway.

The government and industry sources told Defense News that Indonesia will acquire five C-130Js under a Direct Commercial Sales contract. They added that the contract was signed in late 2019, although neither party formally announced the order.

The sources spoke on condition of anonymity, as they were not authorized to reveal information related to the acquisition.

These claims were given further credence during Air Chief Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo’s ongoing visit to the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, where he was photographed alongside a C-130 cockpit section that was still under construction but already bore the Indonesian flag.

Lockheed has included Indonesia on its list of C-130J operators, with a September 2021 version of the aircraft type’s fact sheet stating the country has the stretched C-130J-30 version on order.

Source reported that the Indonesian Marines plan to buy 20 units AAV7 with budget pending approval from the Ministry of Finance. This may be an alternative as the contract for 22 units BMP-3F and 21 units BT-3F that have been already signed are on hold due to CAATSA.

AAV7 brand new or EDA ex USMC?

USA never blocked vietnam with CAATSA, so why indonesia is blocked?
*
Don't know.

What Russian military equipment did Vietnam bought since CAATSA is effective?

The US didn't blocked Indonesia but its Indonesia themselve who decided not to take the risk. And iinm the US have been pushing Indonesia to buy their AAV for quite some time.

QUOTE(reinloch @ Sep 11 2021, 10:38 AM)
Aren't they fielding BMP-3F? Why would they want to field AAV7?
*
Its because of CAATSA. Any country that bought Russian military equipment is subjected to be sanction by the US under CAATSA. Indonesian Marines need to replace their obsolete BTR-50 and PT-76 and since CAATSA the only alternative is the AAV. There is news that FNSS is offering their new ZAHA to Indonesia.

Btw the Indonesian Marines also operate 15 units LVT-7.

Why is CAATSA in focus?

The US on Monday imposed sanctions under the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act or CAATSA on its NATO ally, Turkey, for procuring Russia's advanced S-400 missile defence system. India, too, has ordered the S-400 systems from Russia, despite American strategic displeasure.

What is the US law?

The US law known as CAATSA is aimed at pushing back on Russian influence. It primarily deals with sanctions on Russian interests such as its oil and gas industry, defence and security sectors, and financial institutions, following Moscow's military intervention in Ukraine in 2014 and its alleged meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

Well we will see then if Indeed the US will sanction Vietnam.

QUOTE
CAATSA allows the U.S. to place sanctions on countries that purchase Russian military equipment. Given that approximately 80 percent of Vietnamese military systems are Soviet or Russian-built, CAATSA could have a disproportionately high impact on Vietnam’s security. To be sure, the Biden administration is yet to comment on CAATSA and whether it would be willing to grant certain countries, like Vietnam, a waiver. Without one in place, Washington might be compelled to sanction Hanoi in the future
