The main upgrade of the Nokia N95 8GB will be of course the thrilling memory capacity of 8GB. The screen will also grow up form the 2.6" of the original to the 2.8" in the new edition. Nokia N95 8GB is also supposed to be equipped with a 1200 mAh battery as opposed to the rather modest 950 mAh in the original Nokia N95.

Can exisiting N95 users buy the extended battery? Hopefully yes but the extra capacity isn't much, won't do wonders unless they doubled the capacity to twice.

The FCC document seems to have indicated that the SD slot has been removed and replaced with a flash memory chip. It's available for download at FCC's website. A key question for me would be, if I were to hard reset the phone, what would happen to the data in that 8GB storage silo. If it were to be erased as well, then, that's gonna be a real hassle

Heard the RAM will be increased double up with the current N95 and the phone is base on chip storage not HDD, so it's not an issue. The 8GB will be separated apart with the internal memory. Meaning 160MB on C: and 8.1GB in E:.

I think the N95 8GB is suppose to rival with SE's K850i.
Anyway, I believe the price would be RM400-500 more than the current N95 and I don't think this new model is replacing current N95. |

I finish playing 1 series of Dragon Ball Z on my phone.. and now playing Final Fantasy 5.. almost reaching the final boss..
play RPG kind of game no problem la.. play action game are no no.. handphone D-pad are not mean for action game leh.. sure die very fast.. |

Although without those gaming keypad, I found out that N95 can too support N-gage system (from one of the X brand mag). However, something make me blur there, so can we have full edition of gameloft game in the N-gage system or we can only have demo and time-limited game. Cause the mag said that we can download game from the internet, for demo of course, then use our email or credit card to buy the game for full version to play 1 day or 1 week. Mean? that's the options for the games these days, either u wan to play for certain times then delete or u can have it forever?

The slider is a bit loosen up for the current N95. You might not be having lots of fun if everytime you press the button, you get squeky sounds

Perhaps Nokia has some commercial constraint on their end when it comes to the choice of GPS equpment to use. My understanding is they partnered with another vendor to deliver the GPS solution and that vendor is also gonna be the one implementing future handsets. Could be wrong though..guess only time will tell..
The preview at Mobileburn seems to indicate that although the screen size hasn't chnaged by much, there's certainly improvements in clarity and how vivid the screen is compared to the original N95. Certainly hope that this is true |

Yeah certainly looking at this device as a replacement for my phone. Gonna toss away my Windows Mobile phone for this. But only if it meets my functional requirements. Otherwise there's always the cheaper N81..

Jose_R.A.M at mobile burn, having actually used the prototype phone did not mention FP2 on his unit. It's also not mentioned in his comparison between the N95 and the N95 8GB. So I guess we can hazard a guess it will be FP1. The comparison can be found here:

What i really dont like about the N95 8GB is that it doesnt have the camera cover as compared to the N95 classic.

one thing about the screen.. the pixel gonna be very rough... coz the resolution still the same but screen size getting bigger... it will be definately fantastic if Nokia upgrade it to VGA resolution..
dreaming.. not so possible at the moment.. |

you will never know. Anyway's i'm sure the N95 will drop by 300-400 Ringgit Malaysia. So if you guys can't afford an N958GB you should go for N95! Both great phones. But if your a heavy multitasker guy you might as well save some $$ for the 8GB Version.And also, if you want a phone with Xenon Flash, should wait for Nokia N81 or N82. It totally > Nokia N95 8GB. Which will be released by End of this year or Early Next year. |

i wish there's a microsd slot on new n95 8gb but no. easier to copy and transfer using microsd IMHO. moreover, 6GB microsd already available.
but double ram, better multimedia key, bigger battery cap, bigger built in memory are all goodness |

I'm hoping the slider construction will be much better than the N95.
It'd be better if they remove the 8gb and put the money into making a better quality build and a rock-solid slider that won't get loose. The N95's slider is really lousy and makes it feel like some cheap phone, which it is not.  |

simply the best phone atm.it has everything:best camera,best stereo speekers,huge display,awsom memory...it`s Nokia`s Crown Jewel
but,another hdd phone from nokia this is a worry!!! i've learn my lesson for jumping right into n-series once they're release(n91 4gb =_=) and now i will observe and research a bit more before i get one. nokia used to be so reliable because they're trying to make computer with the size of mobile phone. N-series = suicide products..... |

imho, i prefer the new n95 8GB without 8GB, instead with microsd slot. N95-3 3G US is basically spec like that but still based on old design. prefer the new all black and redesigned keypad want to ask, does N95-3 US 3G phone usable in Msia? 3G work? |

the UMTA Frequency(3G band) use by US are different from us.. hence. the US version of N95 .. the 3G won;t work here....

Hello everyone! I am not really new to this forum but I forgot my password, my login name etc, so here I am again. It has been a while since I last post!
Anyway, I am anticipating the launch of N95 8GB as well! I am so glad I didn't buy the current N95 when it was first launched... altho that time I was green with envy to friends who already bought them! I called Nokia Store in Bangsar today, at least this time they gave me better answer than the last I called. The person said it will be here in 1 week or maybe 2 weeks. I asked if I could have a prebook sale or something, but she said I should just leave my number and they will call me once it is here for sale and viewing. Yeay! What is another 2 weeks right? If we can wait for months already. On the Spiderman 3 movie available in the unit, I came across Darlamack blog (I kind of trust her words since he is one Nokia tester in the US and been liaising well with Nokia), she wrote "To celebrate the launch, Nokia has teamed up with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) to offer a Nokia N95 8GB pre-loaded with the full-length movie, unique message and ringtones, games, wallpaper and screen saver. This will only be available in Europe and selected countries in the Middle East and Africa region" Darla Mack Blog I guess Nokia didn't get the rights for Spiderman 3 distribution in Asia Pacific urgh, sucks.Oh well, it's not really a big deal I think. I can already imagine the Japanese series I could save and watch in the phone, eh 'multimedia computer' I mean, hehe. |

No memory card slot and no lens cover, two steps forward and one step back! A great phone for someone with no N95 but surely far from compelling for an N95 owner.

just hope that with new firmware update the SE K850i will have fixed its teething problem and IMPROVES its camera quality... although this is not a guarantee and most importantly, how long does it take for SE to release new firmware and how many firmware(S) does the phone need in order to fix the problem(S). If you are in a hurry to buy a new phone, i would reckon the Nokia N95. Price wise, the N95 has its advantages.

even worst, messed up with all those "nokia" and nokla version of n95i, many people will be confused lol if anyone want to wait for better firmware, i guess no need as the n95 8gb reviewed has very matured firmware and no big issues. |

I read in Nokia forum someone from Singapore said N95 8GB launch today in Singapore! So nice! Dunno true or not, anyone has any info? But I am not surprised Sirim so lembab. Normal la gov mah. Ceh.
But I'd rather they dont sell launch package etc la. Actually all wanna make extra money one, the battery is worth la, but the rest I think very cheap cheap stuff.. at the end, the extra RM200 for the launch pack use to pay for the extra battery only, hehe. Whatever. Just faster launch, cannot stand looking at so many video preview anymore. It looks sooooooo delicious liow! |

yeah, dopod r using window mobile platform....for wat i think...the only thing that dopod or htc excel compare to n95 8gb is the touch screen and qwerty keyboard...i don think u could find any window mobile phone which has the strong multimedia features compare to n95 8gb...

It's not a very practical thing to do for a phone, the cover will loose sooner than those who never take the battery out. The first Nokia N95 got this problem with the flimsy cover, the N95 8GB review said the cover is better, but it is still plastic, the more u play with it at the end cannot use already. And that second battery is not free hahaha, u actually pay for it liow.
