To all the proud owner of N95 and N95i (easier to type tongue.gif aka 8GB), may I present to you NokMote. The best Nokia symbian application that I've seen so far. Very useful for gaming.

Same concept like RotateMe and Inclinometer symbian applications. But this is really useful and kick iPhone's ass.

Nevertheless, the -ve points about this application are:
1) You may accidently drop the phone.
2) The internal components of the phone may get damage easily due to much of movement....?
3) You might get a headache coz you need to keep your eye on the screen while in motion.
4) The phone needs to be faced up. Which means, whenever you lie down on your back (say on bed), NokMe will do other things. So in my bed, I need to lie on my tummy biggrin.gif
5) Not sure it works on E-series or other Nokia models....

SACC Mall at Shah Alam pricing is RM3,199 with std accessories. Still too expensive. I wish Santa will grant my wish this year.

Std package has no screen protecor and no pouch.

darn...my one is authorized one...
ash your phone got like this or not? sometime got light sometime no light

It is called "ambient light detector" technology. Why it is being introduced? To optimize display brightness and power consumption. So, when u stand in the bright sun shiny day, there will be no lights on the keypad. That will save some battery isn't it? But if u are in the dark area, the keypad will lid up constantly. Try it.

Now for your next test, if you install any Symbian software, will it install in the 8GB flash memory OR internal memory OR u can choose either one? This is really crucial!

Your next test, how fast can u transfer a movie file, say, 700MB from PC to N95 using USB cable; and from N95 back to PC? Please state ur file size and timeline in seconds.

What is your firmware version ? (Code : *#0000#)

Does it has keypad Autolock function? (i.e. the keypad will automatically lock after some period of defined time)

For all N95 8GB owner (AP or ORI; locked or unlocked), here's the list of N95 8GB potential bugs.

I've summarized as below:

1. Contacts. Saved contact's thumbnail takes too long to come up. 7-10 seconds literally, but only when opening contacts after fully closed in the first place.

2. Music Player. In the music menu, under "artists", cannot delete artists or songs from in there or anywhere. Showing me a pop up saying "feature not supported".

3. Unplug USB cable from "data transfer" mode. When plug N95 8GB into PC usb using "data transfer" or whatever, (not pc suite) you have to do "eject" or else will lose data or whatever the pop up says. So, you do the eject thing and it doesn't show anything, it flashes a message on standby and stays connected to the computer.

4. Can the built-in web browser (not "Services") load flash websites?

5. Using Windows Media Player to sync the music files with N95 8GB. Synchronising of the files is a breeze BUT the album art are not transferred.

6. Cannot delete empty music files / track names / album folders.

7. When transfer albums, the tracks are not in correct order.

8. No screensaver on landscape orientation.

9. 31st picture taken may be upside-down, followed by 33rd pic, etc.

10. The cursor in gps position is off center. The cross is a little under the cursor box.

11. The Gallery application will not shut down despite keep hitting the EXIT key. It only just minimise.

12. Deactivate "silent" mode changes active application on display.

13. Software updater doesn't recognise N95 8GB.

14. TV-out may not working sometimes.

15. When you key in a new contact entry, the synchronisation profile is Private by default. Those synchronised contacts from Outlook do not have this profile in the list in the first place.

16. Loading up the 8GB flash memory with LOTS of music files and videos will lag the boot-up of Music Player and "Search Internet and My content" application. May need to reboot phone to gain speed.

17. Receive "0x80100013" Error Message everytime tried to Backup N95 8GB using Content Copier with NSeries PC suite.

18. WiFi is not stable compared to old N95.

Have you check by pressing the "menu" button (aka Ying-Yang symbol) more than 2 seconds? This action will list down all the applications that are still running in the background. You should see "Standby" at the top of the list followed by other applications running in the background.

anyone knw hw to use application|media|IM? Is it msn msgr?

The built-in Nokia IM will be the "MSN Msgr" if you know which server to connect to.

So far, for my E61, I only managed to connect to packetbox using the built-in IM. Here's another packetbox successful user for N95 'classic'. But be aware that packetbox has lots of spamming! So I immediately delete the server in my built-in IM. Apparently, packetbox website is down (forever...?)

You may try Yamigo. But my built-in IM for E61 cannot connect to Yamigo server but my Moto V3xx managed to get Yahoo and MSN contacts. It's all free (if you have unlimited 3G/EDGE access).

From what I can see today, the best application for mobile IM is Shape Services IM+ and/or Agile Mobile. But these aplications are not free to install.

For free mobile IM, I encourage you guys to use fring.com or Gizmo for S60 which is free as well, as long as you have unlimited 3G/EDGE access. There are many others VoIP and mobile IM nowadays. They are all good if you have unlimited 3G/EDGE access.

Plus, if you 'dare', try DiGi IM or Maxis M-Messenger
