Mayb u can just save the link of the fund price page & juz load that page to check for prices

I had invest in PCSF . May I know did PCSF will pay dividen ?

bcos I dint hv the PCSF prospectus in hand now , so need u all help ...

Thanks...
*
Like wat hv been mentioned, PCSF distribution payout is incidental & by any case, the distribution will b pay out during its financial year end which is 31st July.

That is if and only if the fund makes substantial profit to b given out as dividend.

But, the most important is the capital growth that v should b looking at for this fund. If capital growth (i.e. profit) is good, most of the time, distribution will b given out as well.

Let say 1 of the fund , the financial year end is 30 April . And let say the fund is going to give distribution(dividen) .
If I go buy the fund now (go buy around 21th-25th April) and wait until 30 April and beyond , when the fund give distribution , do I received the distribution(dividen) ?
*
There is a certain cut-off point for new investors that come in b4 distribution to b eligible for distribution. Usually a few days before the distribution.

But, whether you invest right before distribution or after distribution...it is the same.

Not very understand . Mean I can get the distribution or not if I invest b4 25th April ?
*
After some clarification, if the distribution date is on 30th April...all investors that remain registered in the fund until 30th April will be eligible for the distribution.

The old forms for Initial Cash Investment Form & EPF Investment form will ceased to be used after tomoro (30th April 2008).

From then onwards, all submission must use the new forms that is available at all Public Mutual branches or u can get it from your agents.

From my personal observation...I will keep PFEDF...since it his its lowest of about 0.22+ it has been moving up steadily & much faster than other funds.

For PIADF, i will keep it for now...though its up momentum its slower, but it is still in upward trend...so will put this in KIV for another 6 months and see how it go.

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ May 5 2008, 08:20 PM)
I see no body is interested in the Consumer Theme Fund.

I believe this fund should do reasonably well in time to come, consumer spending is strong in Asia ( Malaysia could be exceptional ).

The way I look at it, Bursa could under perform this year.
*
From wat I see....Far-East Consumer Themes Fund (PFECTF) have benefited from the rising prices of food & products. We can see it move quite well up recently.

Then again....in future, i would said it still has room for growth...like u mentioned, consumer spending is one major factor. Another one factor would be the stability of world economy...if oil prices stabilizes & US economy recover...we might see a good consumer spending ahead....

Malaysia...wat can i say...it is still lagging behind all its Asia's counterpart. Provided with our recent political instability, it seems this year might a bit slow. Even when regional market is going in tandem with US recovery, Malaysia seems to b always left out. All the foreign investors are looking at regional market which offers better growth & stability.

The potential for growth is there, but it can be fully utilised until Malaysia settled its internal political problem.

QUOTE(jeff_ckf @ May 8 2008, 09:36 PM)
ok...so if I topup during periods where the fund is priced lower (like currently) then it is averaging down. How about automatic averaging down? How is that achieved? Becoz PIADF just announced distribution so the distribution amount reinvested will automatically bring down the average unit cost? Correct me if I am wrong please  laugh.gif
*
On the so-called 'Automatic Averaging Down'..i copied back the calculation i made in Thread V1 for the NAV before & after distribution for PFEDF.

QUOTE
PFEDF
BEfore Distribution (30 Nov 07)

Unit Price = 0.3055 sen/unit
Total Capital = RM 1, 500
Total Units  = 6,000 units (Bought at offer period, 0.25sen/unit - service charge added)

Average Cost per Unit = 0.2500 sen/unit

After Distribution
Distribtion = 2 sen/unit
Total Distribution in RM = 6000 X 0.02 = RM 120

Unit Price after Distribution = 0.3055 - 0.02 = 0.2855

Unit obtained from reinvestment = RM120/0.2885 = 415.94 units
(no service charge for reinvestment of distribution)

Total Units = 6000 + 415.94 = 6415.94 units
Total Capital = RM 1,500 (same)

Average cost per unit = RM 1,500 / 6415.94 units = RM 0.2338 sen/unit
The calculation i did take into account of tax of the distribution, just a simple calculation.

Please take note that the Distribution does help to lower down your average cost per unit, but the TOTAL VALUE of your fund will be almost the same & not increased as most people might think of. See calculation below:

QUOTE
before distribution, your value of fund is 6000units x 0.3055 = RM1833.

After distribution, your value is 6415.94units x 0.2855 = RM1831.75.

But as time goes by & when u accumulated enough in the fund, you can consider taking out the Distribution when it is declared, so u will get addition income in this sense.

OK got it. Thanks! Btw PIADF is mainly investing in blue chip stocks of the respective country mentioned in the prospectus is it? Or only stocks with high dividend yield irregardless of whether blue chip or not?
*
It will go into both...High Dividend-Yielding Stocks & Blue Chips

With the continual bad market performance... I would think PITTIKAL may not have distribution for this financial year...
*
Well, one thing i'm very sure is PITTIKAL will surely declare distribution this time around, the question is how much.

PITTIKAL has been one of the star performer funds for PM, besides the fund has been performing or should i say recover quite well from the initial aftermath of the subprime crisis.

The the total of 8 funds in the list, PGSF will be the most likely to be not declaring any distribution.
PRSEC might most probably will declare is much lower distribution than before.

The others I would say will have good chances to have distribution. But will most probably b lower than previous year.

Anyway, lets wait till end of the month for PM to declare the distributions...no point speculating..hehe

I still have a good feel of the Asian market fundamentals. Will continue to invest in my PIADF as soon as salary comes in end of the month. Hope it stays below RM 0.22  rclxms.gif

Thinking to also invest in PITTIKAL but this fund only invests in Malaysia correct? Or it also invests in other markets?

woww.. so UT has no capital guarantee??? ohh.. now i know.. so, i think that it is better to invest in ASB, or ASN lo... thanks 4 the information..
*
ASB & ASN is similar to unit trust as well...so, they are not capital guaranteed as well.

You should look for those unit trust funds with mentioned CAPITAL GUARANTEED one. They usually requires you to lock in your $$ for a certain period of time.

Every banks oso got this Capital Guaranteed Unit Trust fund...

PBBank oso recently launched one ~ PB Capital Protected Dragon Fund

Other banks not too sure...u hv to check it out ur own
