The free keyboard condom and sleeve isn't much to shout about. Of which, both I no longer use.

Keyboard Condom - It traps heats, prevents hot air from escaping through the spaces between the keys

Sleeve - The MB sized sleeve is made too big, there is lots of free play.

i'll seriously avoid going different speeds on ram, its either 1x1 gig, 2x512, or 2x2 gig even if macbook doesn't support up to 4 gig

Is the speed increase in dual channel mode significant?

Technically, what windows runs, Macs will run as well.

If you can't find the Mac version, use bootcamp instead.

Thanks for the info. They look quite easy to DIY. I think those PS2 vertical stands might work as well if they are adjustable.

I think I prefer mine on a laptop cooler. Plus, the attached cables will make it look kinda weird.

If the link is direct to the mp3 file, right click on the link and choose "Download linked file". If not, once you are in the quicktime page, you can go under File then Save Page As an mp3 file.

The additional plugin could be for windows media player. You can get it from Apple.com/downloads. I'm not 100% sure though, you might want to Google it up.

It's no biggie if you show them the number outside the box.

But if you show them the activation card INSIDE ths box, then your Applecare might get hijacked tongue.gif

If I'm not wrong, I'm not 100% sure, you better double check.

Once the Applecare registered to your MacBook, it can't be transfered to another MacBook. Since the Applecare it tied to your MacBook's serial number.

QUOTE(KTCY @ Feb 10 2008, 07:37 PM)
Hi user of Macbook.

I have some doubts in my mind and hope that macbook user can help me to answer all my doubts.

1. Is this a good time to grab macbook ? Or should I proceed to Macbook air ?
2. Let say I take 2.0Ghz Macbook, it comes with Combo drive and not DVD RW. Can I add some cash to change it ?

Thanks in advance.

1. I don't think the "good" time frame is fairly subjective. What you have now is a quite recent Santa Rosa updated MacBook. If you need a laptop urgently, I don't see this being a bad time to buy.

The MacBook Air and MacBook are for different purposes. If you need the slimness, led screen and the overall wow factor, go for the Air smile.gif But do keep in mind you lack usb ports, and a dvd/cd drive.

2.I'm not sure bout this one...

What he meant was he wants to FORCE open it in a new tab.

Safari unfortunately doesn't support FORCE opening in new tabs. However you can install this Safari plugin called "SafariStand" which will bring you this feature. Google up for installation and download link.

Back to Tiger tongue.gif ?

I have 1.25GB of RAM and I do noticed lags quite often especially when I have a few tabs opens and switching between them in Safari. I didn't have this when I was in Tiger.

Hmm..

Pre-buying checklist

(1) Check for dead pixels on the spot buying taking it home. That way you can immediately ask for another unit if you see any dead pixels.

(2) Check for fitting and alignment of case. Some MacBook aren't properly assembly, you might notice some gaps.

(3) Other defects for the newer MB won't be known so soon. Wait a couple of days and keep a watch at Apple's discussions forum.

You're welcome.

Did she have a bad experience dealing with the service center? What happened?

I think she is rather misinformed. We do have a Mac service center here. The address...

VR Technology Sdn Bhd
Blok B Megan Avenue 2, Jln Yap Kwan Seng, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan
Phone: 03-2162 2023

If you do encounter problems, you can send it to the retail stores, and then the sick Mac is sent to the service center mentioned above. OR, you could just send it in yourself.

Good luck tongue.gif !

I use a old P4 system for torrents and downloads. Does the job well smile.gif

For everything else, the MacBook does it.
