a very attractive alternative other than the more common avanza & innova...
as they emphasize on the low body built, it should be slightly more stable...
if the highest spec (1.8, bla bla bla) doesn't exceed the Rm100K++ mark, it should be a good buy...

Attractive! Now the only question remain is the price for our very price conscious Malaysians. Even if the 1.6 sells at less than 90-100k, i believe this could be an superb best seller.

Why are people complaining tht from different angles it looks too much like a Murano/Odyssey etc etc..,shouldnt u be glad that u can afford a sub 100K car that looks like premium cars costing more than twice its price??

I for one love the looks and consider it much more attractive looking than the Avanza...

from my source, this MPV will be launch next month.. price tag maybe from 80K onwards. (hope that it will be around RM70K onwards sweat.gif )
1.6 AT/MT and 1.8AT.
Nissan Grand Livina.

p/s: ride n handling is far better than avanza/Innova.

Mr Matsutomi said that a key difference in the approach taken in the design of the Grand Livina in comparison to the Toyota IMV models is that the new Nissan model has a monocoque platform, similar to a car's, whereas the IMV models use a chassis frame that is usually for trucks. The monocoque platform guarantees a more comfortable ride, and the B-platform is already in use for the Tiida/Versa and Sylphy.

no it will never pwn the Innova.. Innova is better than Ria interms of comfort n fc... personally i dont think fc is a matter for a big size car especially a mpv like Innova... if u carry 8ppl inside the fc will higher than a normal sedan at same engine capacity.. but it still accepted...

Livina is an MPV... not meant to be a performance car at all.. hence the much "underpower engine" ... icon_rolleyes.gif

if they fitted it with the much more "performance engine".. the pricing will follow to "perform" also... laugh.gif

yeah, livina is just a people carrier. not performance oriented MPV. the power is enough to cater 7/8 people on board at one time.

but there is an option, bolt-on Impul supercharger for the HR15DE. good enough for 144bhp. tongue.gif

This car definitely can beat Innova but Avanza..dont think so coz of the pricing factor.....If these 1.6 auto is selling at RM75K yes, can beat Avanza 1.5 but if beyond that I dun think so lar...many ppl buy Avanza coz it is a better brand compare to proton with the right pricing. Avanza is an entry level for most ppl who wants a breakaway from proton cars... This cars looks nicer than Avanza/Innova/Serena

bro... serena is of a higher class MPV from Nissan already despite its blocky look... tongue.gif
its interior is indeed very very luxurious & comfortable... smile.gif

have u check out the latio? the grand livina interior will be following such styling & material usage (most if not 100%)

This Lavina is nice lar interior + exterior but pricing not very 'ngam' la.. i think it will be out of my budget...gues is at least RM80K+, if RM75K can consider leh over proton I dun mind paying RM20K more coz Nissan is a good car...Toyota/Honda cars pricing lower but overrated smile.gif

heard the price for 1.6L will start from under 80K. anytime soon it will be confirmed.
it was first design to compete with Innova since it was a hit in Indonesia, but as time goes by and the economic factor, avanza is the favorite MPV in Indonesia.. Nissan was then cut down the price for their Livina and their target now is to compete against Avanza.

quite a tricky bussiness for nissan to use a single platform(chasis in this context) to battle at 2 significant different category (avanza & innova)

while they can equip Livina fully to compete with innova, they need to strip a lot of stuff from Livina in order to keep price down to compete with avanza...

in the end, end user who looking at the chasis will just see the same... something like those who pay more & opt for the higher grade livina will not feel the pleasure of owning something better... tongue.gif

like owner of innova will immediately feel he own something nicer compare to owner of avanza...

well, it's all about emotion... tongue.gif

surprise to hear some people like the design and some not.

i do belief the pricing RM8x,xxx ... max is RM89,950 is good for mid-size MPV since is based on passenger platform rather than truck platform - innova.

i see many other forumer (other forum) condemn the price... saying should be cheaper like RM75K++ ...

funny is they want all new car to be cheaper...

e.g. Latio 1.6 - expensive. Livina 1.6 - expensive...

yet new Vios 1.5 - alright.

sad fella.

oh come on, if it's really true starting at rm 72k, price wars with toyota will start, all customers like me and you will benefit.

i don't get some people's idea saying 70k is too cheap for a car like this. i mean, who doesn't like cheap cars?

this model looks very promising. I hope Tan Chong doesn't screw up with pricing. IMHO, between other MPVs in the market e.g. avanza, innova and citra.. Livina does stand out in terms of styling. thumbup.gif

for nissan FC, reliability, after sales services etc... u may ask in the sentra thread or the latio thread... many owners there... smile.gif

livina is using the same 1.6 & 1.8 engines in latio, but FC will not be as good coz livina is an MPV while latio is a sedan/hatchback...

if the MPV is always laden with 5-7 ppl....1 should not expect such good FC regardless of any CC.....of course the small displacement suffer more since it needs to work harder to move around.

if the MPV carries only 1-2 persons mostly, especially u see ppl driving alone to office...shouldnt be that bad.

It shouldn't be that bad. Nissan engines nowadays are known for their very good torque. If you look at their specs, they have lower horsepower than similar Toyota engines, but the torque is always higher.

In case you didn't know, torque is what gives you "pick up". Being a monocoque design, I think it should be as light as the Avanza. Or maybe just slightly heavier. If Avanza can move well with a 1.5, I'm sure a 1.6 Nissan engine will do fine.

Hi guys, i'm a new member. Very interested when read all your comments about g.livina. Actualy i already see the car. the size look like innova.ground clearence +- 188 mm. Front grill like murano/latio but rear like innova. It use Latio cvtc engine . It weight about 1.2 tonn. so the f.c is better than innova ( Like " minum air " heheeh ).bcoz of it use latio engine, latio use new aloi engine..it's more powerfull than new sentra . it's 1.6 engine is same like 1.8 sentra. so when i check my sentra specs....it weight about 1.05 tonne. FC mybe more than sentra 1.6 but much2 beteer than innova... thumbup.gif i think it value for money...any comments?

I can say TanChong will score with a big winner this time. An mid size MPV for less than 90k is attractive and will stun Toyota for good until perhaps if Proton comes with another MPV.

masuk the car and test drove it today... the 1.6 manual version...
for a people mover, the handling is just good, easily better then the innnova i had at home...
steering feedback is excellent, the seat is just nice.... but the clutch is just too light to my liking.... all the necessary button is just easy to reach...

dun say innova la, stream also should feel threaten....
nissan did an excellent job to place a comfortable 7 seater at below 90k range...
just that the last row as usual, a full sized adult will suffer from lack of leg space......
but non-the-less, a very excellent buy....

SA claim that RM 70 of petrol can return 450 - 500 km for the 1.8 version..... but that is just claim until some owner actually can verify that...

if indeed the claim is "accurate", i would say its pretty impressive...

Check the website, very family car. At least no looks ciplak, and bulky. It is like Wish or Stream pattern design, sleek not boxes type.
Looking at the price is kind of attractive, with price around 85k and below 100k, ppl got more choice for MPV. For family will you go Civic or this one? Thats the point. Some SUV can't fit you 7 seater.
This is is not powerful but also not underpower, it is just decent.
Looking for test drive. One thing I notice is the side mirror don't have signal light. It will be nice if included inside.
But 1.8 and 1.6 is different engine?

FYI to those who going to buy this car, DO NOT get the Tan Chong optional accessories like Half leather seat (not properly done as you can see in show room), v-kool (green , model V-kool63 and body kit (only cost half outside) ... those were too damn expensive. I got all my stuff outside and i save a lot !

Dude the MPV only 1280 KG only 100KG heavier than Latio 1.8, i wouldn't say its under power but at least decent power. You don't expect much from a MPV.BTW 1.6 is HR16DE and 1.8 is MR18DE with CVTC (Variable-valve timing control) definitely will help a lot on low RPM.

wolfseed, sorry to say that, i don't think the HR16DE on the Grand Livina has CVTC. That's what i got from the local Nissan website. But the torque output is decent, so it should perform on par(if not better) than the Avanza 1.5G smile.gif

jus went back from show room.
the 1.8 version comes with CTVC.
I tested the car and honestly, it was great! n u will think you r driving a sedan.

It has advantage on its outside look over innova (innova is too bulky), n a giving better impression than avanza, which looks like a van. If u like wish or stream, but having tight budget, this is the right car. No complain at all. 3rd row seating perfectly fit for any "standard sized" people. N forget bout those Korean cars, they are cheaper when u buy, even cheaper when u sell!

Never own a nissan b4, n probably will hav one, for my mum as there isnt too many choices out there now for her. As she needs a 7 seaters mpv, but she doesnt like big cars(innova, naza ria out), van-looking car(avanza out), and she is having a tight budget(wish, stream out). So you know la, mayb all she can chose is korean mpvs like citra(i don like, coz low resales value) or this nissan Grand Livina.

cheers guys, im so liking it oredy.

juz went nissan showroom to have a look. totally win innova and avanza. In term of price, this is worth with its value. RM 83k u can get a automatic transmission already. I have a ride when there is a driver test drive on it, wow much much better than the bumping avanza. Livina is some sort like innova but u can get it cheaper by saving around 10k. So most of the ppl will choose this instead of innova. Toyota is kinda expensive and i heard innova FC is like drinking the petrol. Personally i think this is much better than Avanza or Innova. I prefer nissan interior than toyota. But it is not very spacious. I feel it is smaller than my Latio. Not much leg room especially the third row. But in overall is good for those what want to have 5 seater car but in MPV look. This car look quite low than others. Don't give me a feel is a big car. Anywhere is a good deal as bored with Toyota. I think this is much better than to have a Vios at least the design also better than latest Vios.

juz went nissan showroom to have a look. totally win innova and avanza. From nissan salesman, Livina FC is reasonable well.. and the hoursepower of Livina is looking good! NIce product from nissan!!

Haha never believe Nissan Salesman.
When i bought my Latio they also told me this and that...how great is it. But in overall i don't think so after i driving the car.
The engine is Livina is same as Latio. So the FC i think is just reasonable. And till now also hard to monitor the FC. Sometime is good sometime is bad. But i like the power for the engine. But for Livina i not sure coz is much heavy.

hahaha kcng u stated twice alr as how Toyota will counter this.
Actually for them is not a big deal. There know this car will be on the road and they know is will be cheaper. So how? U want they lower the car price? This will not happen. No matter what they will still have their customer. A lot weird people that maybe prefer the badge than design. Maybe coming soon the 2nd generation of Avanza which is more sporty look and more feature, while for the price i don't think will be cheaper usually is slighty higher.

Let's see the development after this, I can't wait for the CPS cum VIM debut and with the cheap price tag, I'm sure many over zealous budget sensitive ahbeng with gt wing and plays sammi cheng's techno song will join the bandwagon. laugh.gif

How's the material quality of the interior trim? Is it as good as the Latio? I notice that the door panel is kinda identical to that of the Latio. Very nice biggrin.gif

But 1.6 and 1.8 engine different wow. One got the CVVT and one dun have. Does it make big difference. Judging the price, i think it is worth. Although many things can improve, but with that kind of price, what other option you can probably can get?

Toyota will not lower its price for their existing models... but maybe they will accompany their sales with additional goodies that suppose tobe there in the 1st place... just my guess...

Hahaha no car manufacturer will lower their car price if their sales is still good and the model is new. they just come out another model to dominate it or add more feature in their existing car with the same price.

Tks for the offer, i had someone nice to help sell my car in his used car show room. Quite a nice guy, he ask me for the price i want then he will sell it off higher as his commission. I could say quite a nice deal. BTW my car really need around rm3k to fix up everything include point job and body work. My car spec is in my sig. wink.gif and FYI this car is over 10 yrs so no loan except personal loan, here is why its hard to sell off.

You don't expect much from a MPV.BTW 1.6 is HR16DE and 1.8 is MR18DE with CVTC (Variable-valve timing control) definitely will help a lot on low RPM.

if u say 1.6 for this is underpowered .

when i say you don't expect much from a mpv becuz mpv is 1 heavy vehicle, all this guy need is torque. Thats why i say CVTC will help. BTW i own 2 Avanza as company car and I know Avanza can run. smile.gif

I think the interior looks fine, in fact i think it is considered very nice for a MPV.
Compare it with its competitors, innova and avanza, den its fair enough. Den u know it is actuali quite nice.

Of course there are many cars which has better, but at its class, shouln't be any complaint. Personally, i think with the half leather seat and the wooden trim, it is comparable to many executive cars.

Went to Nissan showroom today to test drive one and book one Black 1.6 Auto on the spot. Actually prefer the manual for 1.6 but i think better to get an auto one so my wife can drive too. The 1.8 is much more attractive but out of budget if I want to add on leather seat and body kits. Hopefully can get it delivered before chinese new year. thumbup.gif

Actually also went to test drive Avanza last weekend but compared with Livina, Avanza really kena pwned... it feel so bumpy and heavy.. and the toyota salesman keep telling me "this is MPV, so dun compared with your VIOS, sir" ...lol... I feel the 1.6 Auto Livina is comparable to my VIOS 1.5 (first gen VIOS) in term of performance and comfort as Livina come with "drive by wire", the car feel so responsive to the gas pedal.

i heard the 1.6 engine is pretty responsive as well, right?
Is it true that Nissan cars has quite good torque? Coz i compare the 1.8 GL to the 1.8 stream (using their official specification), and i notice that Stream has a higher horse power which is expected, but GL has the equal torque as stream and 100kg lighter than stream. Is that means the GL has the same pick up as stream, if not better?

Actually while waiting in line for the test drive (only 1.6 Auto is available for test drive at JB), we (me and my wife) has already sign on the order form for the 1.6 manual as we thought 1.6 Auto would be under-powered. However, after test-driving the 1.6 Auto, we decided to change to Auto as the response is as good as my VIOS if not better, so better to get an Auto unit so all the family members can drive. I heard that too that Nissan car has better torque.

Go grab one... you won't regret. rclxms.gif

G.Livina space VS Avanza space, Avanza is bigger, i found G.LIVINA is hard to go out&in from the 3rd roll,

http://car.autohome.com.cn/photo/2623/3/72791.html

http://car.autohome.com.cn/photo/2623/3/72790.html

if compare only 3rd roll with Avanza, Avanza can keep my 182cm body in with head against the head rest, but LiVINA

http://car.autohome.com.cn/photo/2623/3/72790.html
i think 170cm below can sit very comfort smile.gif

comfort goes to G.Livina,

Technology goes to G.livina(of course la! Avanza launch 2 years ago ma), so technology cant compare.

2.38% quoted by the SA for 5-7 years. Anyone getting a lower interest rate?

Only local cars can exclude airbags.. that's Malaysian rules

Got test drive it twice (1.8). I like the suspension. Steering wheel so light weight.
3rd row designed for kids. Good for small to mid size family.

Disadvantage is don't have MP3 player. Geniss front grill look nicer.

Gonna get this MPV somewhere next year with the Aero Kit, of course... drool.gif Then maybe future plan, switch to 17" rim.. ha ha

Downpayment belum cukup maaa..... laugh.gif

FYI, the feature u are looking for here is mostly reserved for higher end models. This kind of seats are common in sliding door MPV like Estima and Isis. So blame your predicament and not the car.

Booked a Grand Livina 1.8 model on 29 December in Tan Chong Petaling Jaya (Jln Kemajuan) branch. Picked the Orange colour. Delivery 6 weeks or 1 1/2 months. Hopefully can get the car by Chinese New year in time to go back to Penang with it. Interest rate 2.38% PBB, RM65000 loan for 5 yrs. Now processing the Loan application, hopefully can approve.

have you seen the car in real life? Dun believe the photos. The Grand Livina really looks gorgeous if you view it at the showroom. After you test drive it, you will find it even more gorgeous, especially with the stock body kits. Before the launching, I find some of its photos on the web and find its design so so only, not really cool but when me and my wife view it at the showroom, we fall in love with it at the first sight. biggrin.gif

Livina rim off set 46 i think, cannot 100% confirm cuz that day i just took a quick look at the spare tires. BTW the OEM rim is from Enkei. If the rim is 46 offset and 4 x 114.3, u will having some hard time looking for 1 unless u order brand new set. I'm going for some light weight rims myself eg. ADVAN RG1 / RG2, Grams light or TE37.

so izit any 114.3 rim we can fit?? i dun really wan offset too much la.

coz now got 2 design

1) go for Sport LOok.....weith sporty rim like te37, ce28....

2) vip style...at least 17" ..................but i scare din lower the car ...17" vip will look weired

terbalik...if i use 16" or 17" Sport version RIm without lower...is will still look ok...

suggestion?

Guys... have any of you who got the livina test and record the fuel consumption yet? Around how many km/l?
Just wanted to know more actual reading from actual driver instead of other's country's information.
And also, did any one tested it and feel it's power similar like a vvti or vtec of vios and city?

Hey there...i am new here

Was interested to know more about the Livinia, so i did some search and bump into this site...

I book mine on the 26th December 07 from PJ showroom....grey color...and guess what....i could only get my car by early March 08...sigh..

Then i made an enquiry to add on the aerokit...and sigh again...the salesperson say the supplier rite now cant cope with the demand and there are buyers whom took their car without the aerokit although their booking forms include the kit...

just check with nissan pj branch, booking there is rm1k, expected delivery in 5-6 months if book now,

most model booked are the the 1.6 and 1.8 auto, they said that the manual version has fewer stock,

the luxury mode comes with half leather seat, if take separately additional around rm2700 (can include in the loan), now they got 50% discount for aerokit and also additional rm1k overall discount.

Price may go up in near future since this is introductory prices .. so book early... for hari Raya.. he..he

Cynox, from motortrader forum. Most GL users said their GL consuming RM0.20/km. In that case it's not like Nissan said, the best FC MPV already. Sales rep told me it's RM0.16/km. Is he telling lies?

don't believe the "book now price will be higher after this" from the salesman. last time i bought latio also said like that until the price same jeeee.....as for those who ordered the bodykit make sure they offer you the 50% discount bcoz the actual prise IS the 50% which is rm1250.last time i got cheated and they said no discount so i need to pay rm2500. when picking up my car the showroom boss surprise his salesman said no discount and so he gave me the 50%. becareful, the salesman just trying to get as much profit for himself.

Yup....
But I dunno, at first i don't feel like Livina much cause thought it's something like Innova.
When i saw it size smaller than Innova, i feel that it's not very bad after all. Cause the actual size is quite nice, suitable height. Not like Innova, too high. Not sure want to categorized it as MPV or 4WD. shakehead.gif

Bigger and definitely more stable then Avanza cause it's lower ... Cornering also for sure stable. Avanza is just too high, too risky when cornering that probably have to lower the speed of the car. smile.gif

No offence, just my 2 cents.

Most likely 6 months if you book Mid January. Altis should be a hot cake too. If you want to get car fast, you better place your booking now before it is launched. Else, sure another 6 months of wait or even longer.

grand livina is nothing bigger too , but i have to admit the overall design of the car is very nice. low and sleek . bigger than an estate.
unlike the avanza which looks like some taller and lengthen proton kanchilll ..... which is ugly .
the best thing is it is not only selling it's brand here. i mean they have given the 1.6-1.8 engine and also good chassis for the car .

unlike some other brand which use cheapest grey interior with no airbags or abs , and even come with the most basic 1.3 engine to pull a massive big body .

I have already seen one in black and great thing is it changed to a bigger size rim. Believe me, it will look amazing after change large size rim.

But then, since it's has been out for sometime already. Any GL owner here come across the fuel consumption figure yet of the GL. I mean real reading km/l not the one estimated by Nissan.

Anyone? smile.gif

It definitely looked thin compare with Wish and Estima. It is thin actually.
Seems like most driver these days doesn't really care about fuel consumption reading of their car. Or perhaps they don't mind about the petrol. smile.gif

Frankly speaking i also didn't got that habit, until my petrol meter spoilt then i had to presume my petrol re-pump time by recording the km distance.

Hopefully i could get some information on the Fuel consumption from you GL drivers soon.

hmm well they can give all sort of reason, when they want the price up, it will go up, only if the car doesn't sell, then the price would went down, normal la, supply vs demand kind of thingy nod.gif

If the information form that forum is correct. Then Livina is not that FC saving as i expected. Cause i trying to get MPV with FC less than 13km/l. Thx for your info anyway.

not all mpv has high fuel consumption imo..

I agreed.. The MPV on your signature is one that have very saving FC as i've researched on so far. smile.gif

according to a nissan salesman, GL 1.8 have lower fc than 1.6, plus 1.8 also have better secondhand value, dunno whether it is true or not, anybody?

Try not to believe on 100% of the things that salesman told. Cause you won't know when they are eager to get extra sales allowance. smile.gif

Got my Grand Livina end of last month. The first tank is about 16sen/km. Mine is 1.8 Auto. The fuel cost is reasonable consider my VIOS 1.5 Auto getting 13sen/km.

Like all the other Livinian, I am very satisfied with its performance. biggrin.gif It is definitely worth considering if you are planning to get a 7-seater MPV, especially its reasonable price. rclxms.gif

Some people said 2.0 is more fuel saving than 1.8 but some said the opposite. I guess it's almost same then, it just depends on the driving way.
And i can see you are not a slow driver especially when you only driving alone as there's records that Wish can actually reach 14-16km/l. Yours only 12.5km/l. Must be an accelerating Hobbist you are. Hehe..

It depends on individual feeling actually..
Like my Wira RM only for 250km only. Very expensive actually buy some people consider it's fuel saving also what..
You get what i mean? smile.gif

But actually.. for a seven seater MPV that worth RM83k++ and still manage to run 250km for RM50 is consider very good already nowadays...
Cause at least it's power is better than my less power's Wira.. Hohoho..

Nissan sales agent just call me to fix the OEM bodykits this coming Saturday coz the bodykits out of stocks for last 3 months. rclxub.gif

Fuel consumption for mine is about 16-17sen per km at current petrol price of RM1.92/liter (using Shell normal). But I am a light-footed person lah. wink.gif

Test drove the 1.6 Auto without CVTC. Performance wise, it was better than what i've initially expected from a 1.6 MPV. I do not need to press hard on the gas pedal to get the car moving. Overall, it's a solid ride and good around corners too compared to other MPV of similar class. Good car..

we do have used bodykit at jakarta.but i think it will become more expensive due to the shipping cost.

anyway.im giving a special DISCOUNT for the JFC AIR FILTER to become rm110.it is easy to install as the size same as the original filter.once it installed.you can feel the diference.smile.gif

So... After this while So far has anyone come across with FC on your livina which can go more than 11km/l?
(11km/l is the original estimated FC for GL, as stated by Nissan SA.)

The cheapest GL is 1.6 Manual at RM84,800. Do people actually go for this model or normally take 1.6 Auto which is slightly more expensive? My Wira now is Manual so I will have no problem with a Manual car. I like GL more than Avanza, but obviously GL is also more expensive than Avanza. Owners of GL, will you justify GL over Avanza?

Impul kit for nissan livina is launching in January 2009. The brochure already arrived at selected Tan Chong outlet in KL but not distributed to the public or salesman yet. Looks roughly the same as the Impul kit for Latio but it uses a different rims.

dude, that's cause ur over-revving ur engine.... just like driving a manual, if u keep it at one gear and floor it, u'r gonna get a lot of torque, which means higher rpm...

it's weird to see ppl buying a manual car at the price more than RM86k.
better buy auto, save all your hassle to change gear.
i am using an auto grand livina and can't imagine how is it like if my car is a manual transmission.
manual transmission for cheapo car like Proton still ok, but don't choose manual for car like Nissan, it's a waste and ruined your perfect driving experience.
for an example, did you see any new Mercedes Benz around possessed m/t?
for auto grand livina, confirm spare part won't be a problem, because most ppl are buying auto.
for manual, maybe some specific part eg. the manual gear box spare part need to order & expensive

forgive me but this comment is actually quite dumb.... civic type-r, 200k... wat transmission? manual... golf gti? manual... subaru impreza wrx? manual... alot of merc models come with manual transmission, just not here cos there's not a lucrative enough market as we are generally pro-auto... manuals arent just for cheap cars, its just generally cheaper than automatic gearboxes, heck, even lambos have 6 speed manual gearboxes... i understand u feel it is more justified to get an auto at that price but ruining your perfect driving experience? come on, true driving experience comes from driving a stick, auto just makes it easier and more comfortable for many... n btw, manual transmissions generally have longer lifespan, add to better topspeed n fuel economy compared to the average auto on passenger cars...

i also got manual. I drive auto car.. i feel it not suitable with me... i cant control the power. While manual i can adjust power with clutch and gear. Auto gear for this car only have 4gear while manual 5gear. 5Gear should have better pickup and fuel consumption too smile.gif

Grand Livina was actually the 1st auto car for my family.

Previously my dad owns 2 Nissan Sunny, Sentra.

Then Proton Waja, Satria, Perodua Kancil, Myvi all are manual.

My parents don't even drive the Livina cause they said they don't know how to drive auto. Just got it like a months ago.

One particular thing about my GL that I am not happy is that the audio player is not MP3 or WMA capable. I tried using a FM modulator with USB drive but pretty much useless, very bad reception. The audio player is 2-din type and I think it is not easy to find. When I sent my car for service, I read that Tan Chong provides an upgrade to MP3 and WMA capable 2-din type player, but at a hefty RM1,150, including trading in the original head set.

Yea somehow I feel now mostly cars also come with mp3 capable player.

This one doesn't. I feel the glove box is too deep also. Another thing is not much place to put my stuffs like my phone.

A shop quoted around RM800 for a 2-din Clarion player with MP3 capability, while another shop said that can choose a single din player with MP3/USB and add in a blank casing for RM30. But I was told that it will then void the original Clarion player warranty once changed. As my GL is only 6-month old, wondering whether is it really worth to change/upgrade?

Any GL lovers had their wheelset traded-in and upgraded?

Just wondering how much those stock 15" sports rim + Tyres can fetch for trade-in? I do have plan to change it to 16" 205/55 R16 wheelset
My new 1.6A will be out by the end of this month, I do plan to upgrade the wheelset and now plan to resell the stock wheelset+tyre

Please share... Thanks!

but this is a family MPV in which comfort and safety is the main concern unlike those performance car like civic tyre-r lambo subaru ferrari etc. of course need manual as they need power.
but the case is different for a family MPV

Model : 1.6cc ST-L
Year : Apr 2008 ( 1year 4 months)
Trans : Auto
Mileage : 30,000km
Colour : Silver
Waranty : Valid till 2011

Price before discount : RM79,600

New car price after discount : RM84,800

Is it worth buying the 2nd Hand car? I will try to press price down to RM75,000.

How's the fuel consumption for 1.6cc? Everyone is asking me to go for 1.8cc, as better power and better fuel consumption, more accessories and goodies.

Please comment and advice.

If I can press the price down to RM75,000 then it would be a price different of 10K against new car price.

Is it worth it? As I have never purchased any 2nd hand car b4.

u hv to count.
ownership transfer, puspakom >> RM 500 (rough)
Check with the bank on interest rate.
Calculate the diff. Which 1 is more expensive?
Is the minor saving (assuming u got that little saving from used car) worth it? U must know that the used car has done 30k km. U dont know what else happenning to the car. hehe

Don know whether there will be a facelift Grand Livina to be launched? If yes, there will be a bigger discount to clear of the old stock.

I have just booked Livina 1.8cc last month and will be getting it end of Jan 2010, as I want a 2010 year car. Before deciding Livina, as my budget is below RM95K, I did consinder Rondo, Vios, City, Forte and Avanza. As I need a bigger car for my family, I have shortlisted Rondo, Avanza and Livina. After looking into the quality of these MPV, their resale value, service center support, fuel efficiency, comfort, space, value for money and the power ratio to the weight of the MPV, then only I end up booking a Livina. It is much more worth it to pay a little more extra cash (RM4K between Rondo and Livina) to have a better car.

There is not much choice to choose in Malaysia. Its up to individual taste and affordbility.

If you do not need MPV or a spacious car, you can consider CIty, Vios and Forte.

Cons is :
1) CD player not able to play MP3 or have USB
2) Seat belt height not adjustable
3) All four doors without side steps
4) No multi info display (most car nowadays come with this)
5) Not enough cup holders
6) No center armrest
7) No 3rd row seat aircon.
8) Beige interior colour can get dirty easily.

Pro is :
1) Value for money, with nowadays discount of RM4K, it a better value than City & Vios which is only 1.5cc
2) Good NVH
3) Simple gadgets given, so long run less faulty problem issue. As usual Nissan is very conventional.
4) Fuel efficient
5) Good pick up among the MPV which is priced below RM95K
6) Nissan best selling model is Livina, as you can see on the road now and the spare parts will be cheaper.
7) As it is built with a car platform which is lower, it is more stable in ride and corners compare to MPV platform.
8) A lot cheaper than Stream and Wish as there are in the same catogories, but lose out in exterior shape.
