Went to Nissan showroom today to test drive one and book one Black 1.6 Auto on the spot. Actually prefer the manual for 1.6 but i think better to get an auto one so my wife can drive too. The 1.8 is much more attractive but out of budget if I want to add on leather seat and body kits. Hopefully can get it delivered before chinese new year. Actually also went to test drive Avanza last weekend but compared with Livina, Avanza really kena pwned... it feel so bumpy and heavy.. and the toyota salesman keep telling me "this is MPV, so dun compared with your VIOS, sir" ...lol... I feel the 1.6 Auto Livina is comparable to my VIOS 1.5 (first gen VIOS) in term of performance and comfort as Livina come with "drive by wire", the car feel so responsive to the gas pedal. QUOTE(star727 @ Dec 23 2007, 01:07 PM) i heard the 1.6 engine is pretty responsive as well, right? Is it true that Nissan cars has quite good torque? Coz i compare the 1.8 GL to the 1.8 stream (using their official specification), and i notice that Stream has a higher horse power which is expected, but GL has the equal torque as stream and 100kg lighter than stream. Is that means the GL has the same pick up as stream, if not better? Actually while waiting in line for the test drive (only 1.6 Auto is available for test drive at JB), we (me and my wife) has already sign on the order form for the 1.6 manual as we thought 1.6 Auto would be under-powered. However, after test-driving the 1.6 Auto, we decided to change to Auto as the response is as good as my VIOS if not better, so better to get an Auto unit so all the family members can drive. I heard that too that Nissan car has better torque. Go grab one... you won't regret.

I think the stock body kit is good enough for me since it is a family car not a street race car. Moreover, the offer is really good, we only paid RM1,000 for it.

QUOTE(wong ching ku @ Jan 9 2008, 07:32 PM) Eh, just my 2 sen but I dun like the look of this car, especially @ the back, looks not porportioned. the sifat too big. have you seen the car in real life? Dun believe the photos. The Grand Livina really looks gorgeous if you view it at the showroom. After you test drive it, you will find it even more gorgeous, especially with the stock body kits. Before the launching, I find some of its photos on the web and find its design so so only, not really cool but when me and my wife view it at the showroom, we fall in love with it at the first sight.

QUOTE(action07 @ Feb 4 2008, 04:13 PM) Have anybody book Livina now? how long need to wait? I book on 12 Jan 08, but Nissan salesman still cannot promise when is the arrival month. Maybe want to buy New Altis on March. Any opinion? Most likely 6 months if you book Mid January. Altis should be a hot cake too. If you want to get car fast, you better place your booking now before it is launched. Else, sure another 6 months of wait or even longer.

Got my Grand Livina end of last month. The first tank is about 16sen/km. Mine is 1.8 Auto. The fuel cost is reasonable consider my VIOS 1.5 Auto getting 13sen/km. Like all the other Livinian, I am very satisfied with its performance. It is definitely worth considering if you are planning to get a 7-seater MPV, especially its reasonable price.

I am driving a Black Livina 1.8 for 2 months now. Only 1 word to describe it - FANTASTICS!!! Nissan sales agent just call me to fix the OEM bodykits this coming Saturday coz the bodykits out of stocks for last 3 months. Fuel consumption for mine is about 16-17sen per km at current petrol price of RM1.92/liter (using Shell normal). But I am a light-footed person lah. any Livina owner service their air-cond in Johor Bahru? Can recommend a workshop or service center who know what they are doing? how much to service at Tan Chong service center at Plentong? My Livina's air-cond not so cold lately. Went to a workshop near my house and was told it will take 1 whole day to service it coz the cooling coils were hidden deep inside, need to dismantle a lot of things to get it out and clean. labour only charges about RM350++

surprise to find this thread kinda active compare to the 2 Livina forums. Anyway, just to check any place to get a nice centre console/ hand rest for storage, in Johor Bahru? Tried to search in garage sub-forum but doesn't seem to have any.
My Livina is 5 years plus now, am the first batch of Livina owners. Thinking of changing car but can't really find a replacement for Grand Livina - it is comfortable, spacious and decently priced. The car has not much issue (touch wood) too. The face-lift version is ugly as hell, especially the front. Bump into my SA at a Nissan roadshow recently and he said the new hybrid Serena will be coming after June this year and new FL Livina will be launched end of this year. Watched a few youtube videos of the Hybrid Serena and it is kinda nice but need to check out the car in reality and also its price at launch before deciding.

QUOTE(kimsim @ May 27 2013, 04:01 PM) New Serena would be more or less in within Teana 2.5-2.0L or higher x-trail or less than x-trail you can aspect the specs and quality will more better than current Sylphy thanks for the head up, hopefully the price is right. IIRC, my SA mention the price will be less than RM150k, dun know how true eventually when it is launched. btw, just check your iRobot sales thread few days ago. Might be interested to get one for my wife later next month. oppsss.... sorry for off topic.

For ICE and Alarm system (particularly the Clifford Alarm), i will recommend Soon Fatt Accessories, the same roll as Pizza Hut delivery at Tun Aminah. Other part i have no idea. Used to install strut bar, anti roll bar on my Waja previously but i think i did it at KL back then many years ago.
