QUOTE(moiskyrie @ Feb 19 2021, 05:38 PM) what consider as drive like crazy? u accelerate too fast and brake again (wasted effort) or too many 0-stop start.just drive to work and back from work, distance around 10 + 10 km.... but many jam and potholes, bump.... drive like lorry between 63-80kmh 63 so its always 4th gear. 60 too slow sometimes jump back 3rd gear. 80 constant on hwy. try not to do full stop to zero. always roll slowly in jam. pick the correct lane in federal. ya even MCO didn't service car much, pls pump tyre every month for best FC. air is free one no need spend money. remember pump 240kpa if tyre hot. otherwise u put 220 when hot it is underinflated, waste petrol. the 220 only when tyre is cold <5 min drive. 13.1 km/L possible with auto maivee (420km/32L full tank), last time college time KL-Klang always can hit 420 per full tank using skip toll ways. with another car (mirage 2014) it is advertised at 21km/L possible to hit if you drive 80 constant follow big lorry I drove 5 hrs follow lorry KL-JB because my friend still working on weekday.. even I arrive fast also no use.. half tank reach JB This post has been edited by ceo684: Feb 19 2021, 06:15 PM |

to me perodua has not done very good job in vehicle pricing. The Ativa will reduce the Myvi sales segment slowly and Perodua will be hands tight on future pricing. Right now they are falling into the same issue of what happened to Proton previously

Pre-MCO i fill up my tank every week and my reading is around 11-12km/l. MCO time, fill up every 2-3 weeks but my FC became much higher like 8-9km/l. |

X50 will probably be fine because of the difference in price and a lot of comfort+convenience features are skimped in the Ativa that Proton offers.
If anything, the Japanese B-segment sedans/hatchbacks will have their sales stolen once this arrives. |

wonder how the DNGA platform will perform ride and handling wise. will it be as dead as the current myvi steering feel? or will it actually be sort of fun to drive? since TNGA is well received for handling maybe DNGA has abit of it too

The seat can be folded to increase cargo space but they didn't think to make the angle adjustable for comfort, something like what Alza offers. need the designer. haha. the car boot they design very big, This car more like target for youngster couple without kids. :haha: |

QUOTE(adriankan @ Feb 24 2021, 12:09 PM) wonder how the DNGA platform will perform ride and handling wise. will it be as dead as the current myvi steering feel? or will it actually be sort of fun to drive? since TNGA is well received for handling maybe DNGA has abit of it too A major change for Daihatsu chassis design is the linking of force-application points at the front and rear of the vehicle, smoothening the transmission of force through the frame. This improves the underbody’s collision safety performance and strength, and more significantly allows the chassis to be both more rigid and lighter than before. Using the Tanto kei-car as an example, the latest DNGA model is 30% more rigid and 80 kg lighter than its direct predecessor.https://<link removed>/2021/02/23/perodua-ativ...form-explained/ |

But interior size is like how ah? Say if compared to Kembara? Well my priority is I guess more on NVH, ride comfort, pickup and then base price / durability. As long as not complete fuel guzzler like Prevek then ok la. |

Highway RPM gonna be high, not your Toyota CVT kind of RPM
120km/h @ 3.2k RPM. Although good pickup but will definitely struggle to reach speed above 110km/h |

There are two parts to this. Rolling noise and general refinement is good in the Ativa, significantly better than in the third-generation Myvi, which was already better than any P2 product when it came out in 2017. The wheel well roar, so bold in the Myvi, is not here, and wind noise at highway speeds (and beyond, we were in P2’s private test track with strict SOPs in place) doesn’t stand out. the biggest takeaway from a short ride and drive session in the Perodua D55L today (Perodua would like to keep the name unveiling for the launch, but since everyone is calling it the Ativa, I’ll follow) is its refinement. True that.QC problems with the fit and finish are quite disappointing to be honest. Driving it is one thing but if it falls apart in the first year, just isn't a good sign. Hopefully P2's QC is decent for the Ativa. At least the engine would be easy-ish to maintain. |

Any news from P2 salesman when can test drive? Just read Wapcar media test drive quick review, the nvh and handling significantly improved compared to other p2 cars thanks to DNGA.
The D-CVT is also pretty good without rubber band effect according to their report. |

QUOTE(storky20 @ Feb 24 2021, 09:29 PM) True that. Yeah...at the end of the day no point buying something that you've got to visit the SC often. That really spoils the mood of ownership. And to add to that, Proton's SC QC is something on a wonder. Same thing with Honda. The up coming HRV looks gorgeous but Honda Malaysia CKD QC? Damned. Lol.QC problems with the fit and finish are quite disappointing to be honest. Driving it is one thing but if it falls apart in the first year, just isn't a good sign. Hopefully P2's QC is decent for the Ativa. At least the engine would be easy-ish to maintain. |

QUOTE(Revoz @ Feb 25 2021, 01:52 AM) Perodua should introduce ativa wif 6spd manual at least for bacis spec model. Lucky indonesia 1st to get manual rocky. I think raize in japan oso no manual. Yeah quite sad MT is really fading away in Malaysia, not even a chance to try out 6MT from conventional vehicleJust like the X50 (Binyue) from China also comes with 6MT, when reached here no more. hairy_porker and dogbert_chew liked this post

Still long waiting.Aruz is under power suv. I heard many said quite high fuel consumption. Unless toyota/daihatsu/perodua do something on it engine then ok. At least put turbocharger. |

QUOTE(weissPC @ Feb 19 2021, 05:23 PM) Honda BRV also can claim that fuel efficiency and I have gotten higher than that during highway cruises. yes, cvt really make alot of difference. many people dont know cvt can draw top engine power which gives drivers quicker acceleration than conventional 4at.Don't doubt the power of CVT yo.... My old Persona, hypermiling also difficult to get that kind of mileage... weissPC liked this post

QUOTE(AmIRight? @ Feb 25 2021, 06:12 PM) thats why need proper mpv for 7 seaters like innova, exora, etc Maybe you should rent and sit at last row so called proper MPV like you mentioned innova & exora especially with both car seat on 2nd row.ya very less utilize. but peace of mind if balik kampung and just 1 driver required Let see how you feel and the troublesome of gettng in/out balik kampung especially long distance travelling involved. For me, for MPV must be open big enough and possible sliding door for 3rd row easy access especially there are child seats involved. Estima/Velfire/Alphard are minimum size for 2+2+2 seating with kids or small frame adults doesn't mind the last row seating comfort level. All I'm saying, if got child seat involved especially if needed 2 child seats, just use normal 5 seaters car and spare those passengers the suffering on 3rd row especially involved long distance with bag luggage. If there are no child seat, at least they can swap seat arrangement during the long distance trip. |

And refundable (- some admin fee) if you choose to cancel. The question is which model? H + bigger rims, nice displays, adaptive high beam, reverse camera AV + canggih safety aids, two-tone colour Best dont change model after booking scared impact queue Its refundable too i heard. Usually few will last minute change model. But if they did should let them wait longer behind all waiting list so that doesnt impact those who alrdy waiting behind them. But sadly no 2-tone silver+black color la. Tat color nice. And perodua should bring in ativa with 6 speed manual too. Lulz! dogbert_chew liked this post

honestly seems like a good buy especially the mid-spec at about RM67k.
For budget shopper that were previously considering Vios/City, that's like savings of about RM13k-19k |

QUOTE(khelben @ Feb 27 2021, 11:49 PM) Yeah it's really not bad. And that digital instrument panel is kinda hnggghhh too. As I saw on Toyota Raize youtube video, the sitting position is high, so the instrument panel is not blocking the view even if it looks mounted high up.But weird thing is it's narrower than a MyVi and yes, the width is about 10cm narrower than a MYVI. But hopefully the interior space is similar as the door is more straight up vs MYVI door's which is more angled inwards (as in slanted), which eats up some headroom. |

So considering for the RM6k different, buyers get leather seat, ACC, BSM, LDW the price gap is worth the money. Some more Paultan did mention that the 17" wheel comes with Bridgestone Turanza T005A tyre, quite good ones.QUOTE(clockpulses @ Feb 28 2021, 06:49 AM) |

QUOTE(JoeK @ Feb 28 2021, 09:40 AM) Finally that picture of the car in white gave a better look on how it looks like without the hideous gear up. The black roof might be tempting but might make the car hotter. Owned black cars and they are a lot hotter than lighter colors. |

QUOTE(Yapmy @ Mar 1 2021, 01:28 AM) The signalling yellow light comes from the LED strip above the main headlight where it changes from white to yellow when turn signal is activated.I'm hoping they could hack this and make it as DRL instead. Both Rocky and Raize has separate DRL on the bumper. |

Rocky and raize have 2 drl, one is on the headlamp eyelid n another on bumper near to fog lamp, just that different between rocky n raize bumper drl pattern vertical and horizontal. This guy drive the ativa but didnt see DRL on. Usually DRL tirned on when engine starts. Unless got on/off button but unlikely. ![]() |

what is it with malaysians taste with over engineered and over aggressive looking cars, the rocky's grill is nice as it is in terms of dimensions and proportion. i prefer elegently designed cars with hints of aggression rather than this ativa with the bodykits, its too in your face

QUOTE(ifourtos @ Mar 1 2021, 10:18 AM) lately its definitely because of the over designing and over aggressive looks of the car, especially with the bodykits and extra chrome here and there, to me it just looks like such a 3rd world/emerging markets kind of look, the kind of cars with mods you see in roads in indon or thailand. japanese approach to this car which looks simple but kinda aggressive with the rocky is best |

I believe X50 still has its own market for people not rush in getting new car. |

QUOTE(JoeK @ Mar 1 2021, 09:00 PM) That is not DRL. That is dipped light. Ya u can called it dipped light. I just called it DRL or small light, both are LED. Some called it DRL or small light too in youtube. Example above youtube i post, the indonesian guy mentioned if the signal turned off it will become DRL. Doesnt matter la dipped or DRL, but it still look like DRL when turned on. You know how if you want to turn on your headlight, you have to turn the knob twice? Its not DRL, the DRL is on the bumper I got this one fren he drive 2018 hilux, and his wife drive 2015 accord, he dislike the stock DRL that turned on everytime start engine. He said too bright the DRL on his hilux and his wife accord and might weaken the battery faster lulz! Tats his believe la haha! What i know LED doesnt consumed much energy. So he modified the DRL become small light/dipped light, i mean only turned on when he turn on light. I dont know how he mod it but he did it. But his wife abit pissed he did it on her car too. Lulz! Now he called it dipped light cos no more running light daytime when start engine. |

On the opposite end, Position Light turned on when you switch on headlamp You can't call them the same thing just because you think it should be, this is as equal as calling Pork and Beef are the same because they were both meat from animal. |

QUOTE(JoeK @ Mar 2 2021, 11:02 AM) ya, why must customisation options in malaysia be down to adding god awful looking body kits lol, why cant it be more personalised like changing colours to certain things or materials or something.not to say its not available, in japan rocky and raize is already built to suit customised needs just like this, to give each car more personalisation i can excuse other car companies if they cant bring it in to malaysia cause they dont have the volume but if there is 1 car company that can justify it based on their volume its p2, what more basically they command like probably half of the TIV in this market This post has been edited by adriankan: Mar 2 2021, 11:09 AM |

QUOTE(ameliorate @ Mar 2 2021, 08:12 AM) Ativa - 73k, X50 - 103k. Ngam ngam 30k. I made my points, X50 Exec lacks the safety feature Ativa can offer, thus to get not less than what offered by Ativa in term of safety,Someone considering Ativa to consider just top up a bit for x50 flagship is illogical. they have to get the flagship variant. Before Ativa X50 Exec do seems like a pretty decent buy, but with Ativa it seems like Exec is losing more value now. Unless you don't care about the pre-Collison warning, blind spot monitor and all. |

QUOTE(heihei @ Mar 2 2021, 01:32 AM) in theory je More is better, the radar can offset the weakness of a camera, and we can't say which is better unless we have direct comparison between the two side by sidesee how china media test all car AEB most failed even on 30km/h , thats with all camera and radar its up to the manufacturer to calibrate. which I doubt anyone would do a test on that. Just like the triple camera tech on a smartphone, it may not always beat single camera smartphone, but it can definitely do more than what 1 camera can't. |

QUOTE(4WD_er @ Mar 2 2021, 11:47 AM) The size (in length and width) is almost identical to Honda Jazz. Just that the height is 10CM taller. Wow.. this is a very good comparison.. Anyone who's ok with Jazz's dimension should have no issue with Ativa as most media reported the cabin space is quite spacious, maybe can expect Jazz level spacious minus the Ultraseat![]() ![]() |

Alza's height is exactly 1695mm. And if you ever seated in Alza as driver, you will feel it is quite high inside.

I dont feel like ativa is a full level 2 autonomous car.
Acc only works 30kmj above. And it doesnt come with lidar like x50. Fully depended on the stereo camera. Quoted from pt “ASA also works at night now, but only for cars and if their tail lamps are on”. Demn. |
