Did some research and klevv is a subsidiary of hynix, just like crucial to micron, so it is almost confirmed that the dies will all be hynix. I guess it is safe to say, the dies will all be hynix DJRs as that is hynix's most budgeted offering.

Actually gear 1 or gear 2 performance impact is not big. It's not like AMD's infinity fabric, instead it's more like geardown mode. You can push way above 3700 even on gear 1, but at the expense of a very high IMC vsoc. That's why intel introduce the gear2 that halves the IMC freq... i guess it's more of a feature validation for the IMC to support those 5000-6000mhz ddr5 speeds later on alderlake.

damn... my klevv bolt arrived and it seems like it's not DJR but CJR....cant tell with the "??" on typhoon burner. Not sure how these kits will perform.

Just manage to got it to boot into windows, But not sure why it wouldnt boot at all if I set command rate to 1, no matter how loose i set the timings. Latency cant get below 50ns. 

What are the temps these DJR running at 1.6v? I dont quite know what's the tolerance so I those pointer thermometer only. mine is 1.48V on 45C with no airflow.. dare not crank it any higher.

But but klevv bolt XR 32gb on shopee also quite limited, cannot cincai burn them haha.

Anyways is it normal if i drop tfaw from 42 to 16 but i lose a chunk of performance? Very interesting lol.... these Dual ranks are indeed much harder to tune than single ranks.

Then... I guess it's micron revB that's easier to tune than DJR, not SR and DR.
My micron rev B tends to pass training and boot easily but memtest86 stability is another matter. DJR very sensitive but memtest86 stability usually quite on point.

Regardless, 3866c18-22-22-42 CR1 micron.B SR vs 4000c18-22-22-42 CR2 DJR DR, up to 40fps gain in F1 2020 1080p high. It's a pretty huge gain already

Trefi 31200. Not sure if going max is ok for daily stability.

Tried, my IMC doesnt seem to be able to boot with it on a test run so I lock to 4000c18@1.45v and tighten timings. Increased to 1.48v for memtest86 stability.

Will try 65535 pretty sure it will give significant gains but just not sure how it will behave daily with running some of my development tasks and compilers.

Yeap no issues running 4 passes thanks! . Since it’s already rock stable 57k/62k/53k 46ns, now stability testing 4133c18 59k/63k/54k 48ns. Which of these 2 will be better though?

Yeah, infact it doesnt boot if I set the turnaround timings manually so I had to use auto. My 4133 had to run on pretty high trfc to be stable so the latency is affected.

This MSi board is pretty weird. When i tried to revert back to last known stable settings, it suddenly failed to boot so perhaps something gone wanky in the training. Had reload the profile a few times then it boots.

What software to use to see the full timing spectrum btw? Perhaps with that i can share out to see what's wrong with the board's default settings

Edit: ran in stock 2666mhz, read is also significantly lower than write. I guess it's either my cracked aida have problem, Crappy Proc IMC or motherboard bios crap (flashed to latest also same).

I used the asrock one instead cuz it looks like asus's link is down, so here's mine. Currently all on auto to try to fix the low read.


however I found another dude with the same board, It really does look like it's this MSI Z490I Unify problem. The aida read is somehow lower.

Yeah this board’s auto is weird. And it’s really hard train. Passing memtest is another challenge. Please guide on where to start altho now dunno why 4000c18 cannot pass memtest while 4133c18 is rock stable. I guess the auto value gone nuts again.

It even need 1.48vdimm to post with these timings.

Have been using the wrong memory gear mode all the while. (In the bios, gear mode was set to Auto by default)

Yesterday changed to gear mode 1, memory latency jumped from 70ns to 54ns.
