So, the factory becomes battery manufacturer for another brand?

No, Yuasa MY no longer produce vehicles battery, those who worked in the manufacturing plant will get retrenchment.. Yuasa MY become trader (importer, just like GP battery). This means Yuasa motorcycle battery supply will be affected too.

I believe it's the last year strike made the Japanese management doolan.. so, they decided to close it down. U can search the news for details.

I saw some news, Honda Yuasa JV a few billion.
Easy to give up ppl who they deem 'unfaithful' to hands that feed them. Just a wild guess.

Yuasa battery which made in Malaysia is history now..

As for imported yuasa Motorcycle battery, the YTX series from Indonesia & YTZ series from Thailand. Based on pass past experience, Thailand yuasa battery is more stable than Indonesia Yuasa battery.

No idea but, I experienced few YTX battery DOA last year.. after filled Acid which came with the battery, that battery getting hotter without charging. The voltage readings is about 10.x V.

Normally such battery will getting warm after the acid is filled in. The readings is 12.x V. Just do a short charging will be good to use.

Will this degrade the battery?

Not so "high tech" bike consume less battery power during idle.. laugh.gif

Those keyless scooter sure drains lots of battery power during idle periods.

you have a point

that bike looks like R15, so should be less
keyless, IINM, can be disabled for long term storage

my point is to gauge the leakage which is attributed to internal resistance, less of external drain, and only charge if it drops to a certain voltage point since that is a gel battery

put rubber mat between bike stand and parking ground, lessen the ground current leaks.. not eliminate completely but at least can park longer without worry battery drained so fast.

Well, I have a customer who owns an adv160.. he left his bike unused for a week, the battery power is 11.2v which is not strong to start the bike.

He took the battery to me request charging the battery.

Sometimes what happens is that the rider is tired after work/trip and they forgot to turn the dial to 'Off' and left it at Seat/Fuel after opening the seat to take out their belongings. If left at Seat/Fuel position, the battery will drain much faster than if left at the proper Off position. There's a video by Indonesian ADV owner talking about this too.
