and to my surprise the price exceed car battery

so would like to do a compilation here of what brand, type, and price for future reference.

Gel battery cannot tahan overcharging, and die very fast when that happens. Either use normal lead acid, or AGM.
I convert my kapcai to lithium battery liao. Now outside also sell Lithium battery for bikes.

which charger do you use? Trickle charge when bike is parked?

Lithium battery have to use lithium compatible charger. Don't use normal agm lead acid charger.

Yea, that's why I am asking. There are a lot of chargers out there, really no idea which one is actually reliable.

My August 2018 Honda PCX is still on its stock battery. Bought a replacement battery (BSH) for spare which costed me RM90. Seems slightly different than the stock battery, but I think the technology is the same.

I use Bosch charger but it doesn't have lithium mode. The cheapest branded charger for lithium that I see I from ctek around rm700 for a 1A charger. The big one is close to 2k for lithium

No charger. No trickle charge. 3% a month, so... 3600mAh will take 10 months to loose 1200mAh. I just let it sit only.

The battery has BMS to cutoff once done charging.

Interesting. I have a tracker installed so might need to look at charging once a month. Are you using the Rapido battery as well?

No, not yet. I'm using recycled laptop battery (18650 li-ion) with cheap BMS for battery. Bear in mind my bike no electric starter.

The only brand that has my size for Virago is Dynavolt, not sure worth the upgrade or not , lead acid and gel also around the same price so is thinking to upgrade after the battery kong.

1st original one last for 3++ years. 2015-2018
2nd one (Koyoko) last nearly 3 years. 2018-Jan 2021
3rd no brand on shopee. Let see how long it will last.

not sure which model Koyoko i bought before but the price around rm60 iinm
last for 3 years.
last year the koyoko dead then i change to amaron around RM40++
still good until now.
for 8 years my bike only change battery 2 times.
