how big the install size? currently rm$80+ at steam very tempting but will reconsider if the file size is huge. 5 max gig is the limit for me.

Thx dark steno & frags 4 info.

Its a big game. I didn't buy it off Steam so I don't know the download size exactly. The game files are about 15GB after they are installed.

Graw... what is wrong with this game. Memory leak? I downloaded the demo over Steam to try after I saw the review in PC Gamer mag. I was happily moving my troops into position. I used fast forward but changed back to normal when I noticed the Americans moving about. Then it got really really laggy. Like 5fps kind of laggy. Before it was so smooth and perfect and I was panning around like crazy.

Too bad. I was just about to launch my assault. Now I have no mood to go play and replay. I only got through the tutorial...

The demo it outdated. Old version, not optimised and buggy.

I assume no new demo sad.gif

Sigh. I'm going to try again. I really want to see my strategy work.

Oooo you know what i remember that lag. yes...

Actually it happens when the AI changes state. Don't worry the lag only temporary. After a while it will go away. I know what you mean...I had that too last time when i played the demo.

Basically when the AI react to your movement(basically when you move near the river opening, it will change its state...some odd reason the AI routines slow down the game...Only happens in that demo and not to everyone even.

Just got the game off Steam's 66% off Total War. Can't see any multiplayer games though. Is it region limited? Does anyone play this game?

Any of you guys able to play multiplayer games without switching download regions to US locations? Empire is the only game I have on Steam that requires this.

hai guise i have some noobie questions about Empire:

1. I saw my horsemen trampled over some of my line infantry when i ask them to charge a group of enemies in front of them. but most of the time i am certain my horsemen just ghost pass my infantry line when they gallope...so is it horsemen only run down friendlys when they charge?

2. Is it safe to fire to a group of infantry in a melee fight? will i shoot my own men?

3. Is the infantry getting any bonus for using bayonet against cavalry?

4. How do i recruit those cool mounted native Americans who can fire their musket on horsebacks.

5. How do i capture an enemy ship? win the battle while it's fleeing?

that's all in the mean time smile.gif

1) They don't do damage to your units, but they do disrupt formations though.

2) You will take friendly fire, so yes. But depending on the position of the firing troop(like directly in front does the most friendly fire)

3) Yes, sharp pointy stick = bonus against cavalry also in Empire, use square formation/ability

4) Capture native settlements, again this depends on the settlement itself. I'm not sure if you can get their cavalry though.

5) Sometimes they surrender themselves, or you could board their ship. But you have to make sure you add them to your fleet in the post battle screen. By default you will destroy them I think.

Added on February 23, 2010, 1:37 pmCurrently in a dilemma. Retail price for Napoleon confirmed RM160. rclxub.gif But on Steam the conversion is about RM136. Which to get? hmm.gif But on Steam it is extremely big and I have to wait, not sure if preload has started.

PS : As I said in the digital distro thread....SEGA games really bad retail price lah.

I'm going for the boxed copy coz I'm planning to get the Imperial Edition. No idea if you're a sucker for those elite units, but boxed copies comes with 5 extra Elite Regiments.
